I'm a boy who likes Fanfiction. Yes, I know, crazy. Fanfiction. Absurd.
Anyway, I feel that no one will really read this except for wondering passers-by, friends that stumble, and the imaginary characters that talk animatedly inside the vast wasteland I call my mind. These beings of personal importance keep me sane and give the ideas of fanfictions waiting to be written. You will see that I have nothing written. Well, I don't care if I could just put any bit of fluff and take up cyberspace here, I will not post anything for anyone to read unless it's labeled in my mind as utter perfection. Yes, I know. I'm just like many authors. But then again, if I were like the other plethora of authors, then why aren't you lurking on their bio instead of mine?
Ah, the questions that haunt us.
The fanfictions that I read usually consist of pure alternate universe fluff, marauder era stories, time-traveling stories, werewolf stories, apocalyptic events, or comedic version of what is to come.
The things that I will not stand for is anything of the nature of slashes. These are...how should I put this...not needed. No, I am not a homophobe. I love movies such as Rent, and I am perfectly fine with anything of that genre containing two same-sex couples. That is not the factor here. The factor is that when a character is set as gay/bi-sexual it is out of character. No one in the Harry Potter World ((that is mentioned)) is gay, but if J.K. Rowling somehow finds the plot neccessary to add a homosexual into it, by all means write about it. Doesn't bother me.
Others things that make me twitch are illiterates, dumb illiterates, and obnoxious illiterates, mary-sues, gary-stus, made-up characters who fall in love with a real character. ((Unless it's a good story, in which there have been a few)) Also, Romance-novels with no plot and while I do not approve of it, if the story fits it, I will accept Harry/Ginny shipping. ((Very unlikely, though)) Oh, and I hate Ron/Hermione shipping. Yes, that is where most you go "gasp" or "no!" or whatever you do when you are bored reading another person's profile. Either way, I cannot believe J.K. did that and that was one of the many factors that made me wary of the seventh book.
Remus/Hermione ((BUT: Only when Hermione has gone into the past, or vice versa!))
Grawp/Giant Squid ((You /never/ know.))
Ron/Lavender ((I guess if he //had// to go with somebody...))
Fleur/Bill ((Only because of what happened at the end of the 6th.))
Not Approved Shippings:
Once again, slashes.
Bellatrix/Voldemort ((I just can't get that image out of mind.))
Draco/AnyCanonCharacterBesidesPansy (('Nuff said.))
Hermione/Ron ((Hmm, deja vu....))
Lily/Sirius ((That's pushing it.))
Tonks/Remus ((...It just irks me...))
I can't think of anymore that are worth naming.
Feel free to contact me, as I have no life. However, if you are stupid, you will be hit and blocked.
To An Athlete Dying Young
The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.
To-day, the road all runners come,
Shoulder-high we bring you home,
And set you at your threshold down,
Townsman of a stiller town.
Smart lad, to slip betimes away
From fields where glory does not stay,
And early though the laurel grows
It withers quicker than the rose.
Eyes the shady night has shut
Cannot see the record cut,
And silence sounds no worse than cheers
After earth has stopped the ears:
Now you will not swell the rout
Of lads that wore their honours out,
Runners whom renown outran
And the name died before the man.
So set, before its echoes fade,
The fleet foot on the sill of shade,
And hold to the low lintel up
The still-defended challenge-cup.
And round that early-laurelled head
Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead,
And find unwithered on its curls
The garland briefer than a girl's.
