I am a teacher, musician, reader, and avid Harry Potter fan. I am originally from the Midwest and now live a bit farther south. I am thrilled to be a proud member of RAVENCLAW House and enjoyed being a site moderator for a time as well.
I hope you enjoy the many stories and poems I have written. I am proud of them all and appreciate any feedback you might care to leave (in other words, reviews are love!) I've listed them below with a short description since I know trolling through summaries can be tedious. Thanks for reading!

This ballad was written by Gmariam of Ravenclaw for the January Ballad Challenge and received third place.
Summary: This poem was written to parallel the poem Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll, only featuring a creature of a different sort.
Summary: Albus Dumbledore celebrates his first Christmas after the dramatic events on the Astronomy Tower. An old friend arrives with a special gift for the holiday, and a gentle reminder to always believe.
This story was written by Gmariam of Ravenclaw for the December Challenge extra credit prompt on Santa Claus and received First Place.
Summary: A dark poem about young Tom Riddle. This piece is for the December Poetry Challenge by Gmariam of Ravenclaw. It was written as a parallel to There was a Boy by William Wordsworth.
Summary: Harry, Ron, and Hermione are enjoying Christmas at the Burrow when an unexpected ghost begins taunting them with strange voices, eerie laughter, and cruel tricks. Can they help the bitter spirit move on, or will the ghost of a former enemy continue to haunt them?
This story was written by Gmariam of Ravenclaw for the December Challenge, Things That Go Bump in the Night. It received second place!
Summary: Sirius and Remus join James, Lily, and Harry in decorating a special tree during Harry’s first Christmas. An unexpected visitor brings sad news, but leaves them with words of hope on the snowy night.
This story was written by Gmariam of Ravenclaw for the December Challenge, prompt four - Oh Christmas Tree.
Summary: After helping the headmaster move the Mirror of Erised to a new home, Severus Snape receives an unexpected gift as the New Year turns.
Summary: Harry receives some solid advice from a friend on the eve of the Yule Ball.
This poem was written by Gmariam of Ravenclaw for the December Challenge. It is for the third prompt, a parody of a Christmas Carol.
Summary: James Potter has resolved to get over Lily Evans and move on with life during his seventh year at Hogwarts. An incident after Potions changes all that when their verbal spat in the corridor turns into something more. As Lily struggles with her principles, James tries to win her over once and for all.
Summary: Harry Potter sleeps restlessly the night before his final confrontation with Voldemort. An unusual vision propels him through a poignant dreamscape where he encounters all those he has loved and lost. As Harry follows a strange guide on a journey both emotional and spiritual, he learns more about the power the Dark Lord knows not, and comes to finally realize how his destiny rests on the power of love.
Summary: Harry Potter has fulfilled his destiny, and survived his final confrontation with Voldemort; the Dark Lord has been vanquished, but at a terrible price. Dozens are dead, including some of those closest to Harry, and he blames only himself for failing them. Desperate, he returns to Hogwarts hoping to change what has happened and save those he loves. In doing so he unknowingly saves himself, but the consequences require great sacrifice.
This short story is now complete. It begins on the battlefield just after Harry’s duel with Voldemort, and follows Harry as he tries desperately to right the mistakes of the past, only to rewrite his own future.
Summary: As an enemy is defeated, a friendship is born . . . Albus Dumbledore meets the Dark wizard Gregorius Grindelwald for their final duel, and later meets alchemist Nicholas Flamel on the battlefield following a hollow victory.
This story was written for the Fall Hospital Wing Project by Gmariam of Ravenclaw and received first place.
Summary: While shopping for Christmas gifts during their final year, Fred and George decide to visit the Muggle shopping centre, and drag new prefects Ron and Hermione along for the ride. After experiencing the fascinating world of Muggle clothing, music, and magazines, they take the lift up to the top level, a ride that leaves the Weasley brothers pale and nervous. When they return to the lift for the journey back down, Fred and George Apparate back to Diagon Alley instead, leaving Ron and Hermione to face the consequences alone when they return to the Leaky Cauldron.
This story was written for the One-Shot Challenge: Muggle Artifacts by Gmariam of Ravenclaw and received Third Place.
Summary: Harry and Ginny find a portrait tucked away in the Room of Requirement. It is a painting of a beautiful witch with chocolate brown hair and grey eyes, standing next to a very familiar wizard with long auburn hair and twinkling blue eyes. It is a painting of a couple who were once in love, and who were married at Hogwarts many years past. But fate intervened, and a tragic loss separated them. This is their story, a portrait of love lost – and found.
This story was written for the August Monthly Challenge - Weddings and was awarded first place.
Summary: With wedding preparations in full swing, tensions are high in the Weasley household. Fred and George blow off some steam by casting curses at each other, only to have Bill walk in on their magical mayhem. He decides to settle things down for the rehearsal dinner and casts a spell of his own on the twins. But Fred and George strike back at their older brother, ensuring a night everyone will remember.
This story was written for the One-Shot Challenge: The Twins and received second place.
Summary: Harry Potter steps through the veil deep within the Department of Mysteries, sacrificing himself in a final attempt to destroy Voldemort’s last Horcrux and vanquish the Dark Lord once and for all. On the other side Harry is reunited with many of his loved ones, who sadly tell him it is not his time. Despite heart wrenching pain Harry must return to the land of the living to conclude his final battle with Voldemort, with help from a new friend and a surprising source.
This story was written for the Harry’s Hospital Wing Project and was awarded the Order of the Hospital Wing: First Class.
Summary: This is a series of letters which Emma Wood, a first year student at Hogwarts, writes to her Grandfather over the course of the year. Follow Emma as she receives her Hogwarts letter, buys her first wand, is Sorted into her House, and meets Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived.
This story was written for the June/July Monthly Challenge One: Autobiography by GMariam of Ravenclaw.
Summary: Meet Aldred, the Keeper of the Hall of Prophecy. As he is puzzling out a cryptic prophecy regarding the downfall of Lord Voldemort, an old friend comes to visit, hoping to better understand the mysteries of the enigmatic message Fate has left them. A year and a half later, it would appear that the prophecy has been fulfilled. But Aldred’s visitor returns with grim news, and they discuss the twists of fate that swirl around a young boy named Harry Potter, now destined to vanquish the Dark Lord in an uncertain future.
This is a one-shot story written for the Harry’s Hospital Wing Project by Gmariam of Ravenclaw.
Summary: After the disastrous events on his birthday at Privet Drive and a sad parting at the Burrow, Harry travels to Godric's Hollow with Ron and Hermione, hoping to find something that will help him on his hunt to find Voldemort's Horcruxes. He also visits his parents' graves. At the cemetery he encounters a figure from his past and comes face-to-face with the traitorous Severus Snape. Harry suffers another devastating loss, but at the same time begins to question many things, including the biggest mystery of all: whose side is Snape really on? As Harry says goodbye to an old friend, a new companion offers solace, and with help from an unlikely source, he comes to a realization that sends him off on his journey to destroy Voldemort once and for all.
This story is a one-shot scene that concludes the series The Seventh Summer, a set of three stories taking place in the summer after Harry's sixth year. They were written before the final book was released.
