Dean Thomas’ life is a mess. While the Trio were Horcrux-hunting and the Gryffindors were reforming Dumbledore’s Army, he was on the run. Living on his wits, he paired up with Ted Tonks, only to see him killed by Death Eaters.

He spent a year away from Hogwarts dreaming of a day he could return, but as September 1st 1998 approaches, he realises he cannot go back.

There are things he needs to do and a past he needs to discover before he can move on.

Summary: Having just been dumped by his girlfriend, Hugo Weasley is not in the mood for his cousin's party, even when James assures him that he'll soon snap up a 'wicked-looking witch'. And with Lily hell-bent on fixing him up with the boring Eliza Finch-Fletchley, the evening looks to be taking a sharp turn for the worse.

But on the other side of the room, one guest is watching him closely. Will Hugo be able to resist?

The Sexual situations are mild and the strong profanity is fleeting (but necessary) hence the rating.

This story was originally written for a Musical drabble exchange in the SBBC. The song that inspired me was 'Falling Slowly' by Glen Hansard. With the only available wizard the sour Severus Snape, she has no chance of finding a partner. And when Septima Vector informs her that The Weird Sisters are booked to play, Charity's mind becomes a blur. It had been six years since she last saw Myron. And in those six years, he's become a star.

If you've read Mere Wisps of Light, then you'll know that Charity Burbage was very reticent about her Yule Ball romance when talking to Draco. This is why. The stories are linked, but it is not essential to read one to understand the other.

Summary: It is Christmas Eve 1998, and the Magical World is shakily celebrating the first Christmas since Voldemort’s defeat.

For one, though, there is no reason to celebrate. Draco Malfoy sits alone in his room refusing to join his parents as they try to regain their social standing.

He does not want to see another Christmas, but he reckons without a redoubtable figure from his past.

Summary: Christmas for the Marauders has always been a riotous affair. They stay at Hogwarts to wreak havoc on the staff and the Slytherins alike. But in 1977 things are different. James is now Head Boy and has become alarmingly responsible, leaving Sirius and Remus with the choice of going home with Peter or behaving.

The third choice - finding somewhere else to celebrate - does not occur to them until Remus discovers that the landlady of the Three Broomsticks is facing a very lonely Christmas.

Over a year has passed since the Battle of Hogwarts. Families grieve, but their dead are remembered with honour.

For Draco Malfoy it has been a year of nothing. Merely existing, he is bound tightly to his past as if enveloped in a shroud, unwilling to accept help. It takes a chance encounter on a cobbled street to jerk him into the realisation that he cannot go on like this. A chance encounter with the one person who has most cause to hate him.

But shrouds, however tightly bound, unravel.
