Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Read to find out how this one unseemly proposal causes absolute chaos in their lives! THIS STORY IS NOT HBP and DH COMPATIBLE! Hey all! Check out my personal info for the expected date of the next update. =)
This is bloody brilliant. Love it. My favorite thing is that you don't make them magically fall in love out of nowhere. They continue to loathe each other for a long time. My other favorite thing is that Draco is so marvelously kept in character. Too many Hermione/Draco fics make him out to be a tortured soul who's merely desperately insecure, when in fact he really is an enormous prat. Good for you. By that way, as you have no doubt realized, its August, and you're killing many of us with this wait.
Summary: Hermione goes back in time with one mission: to kill Tom Riddle before he ever comes to power. A difficult task, correct? An impossible one, she realizes, as a love between them grows stronger than anything she has ever known. Now Hermione has a choice to make. Will she condemn the Wizarding world to almost certain destruction, or will she take the life of the one boy she has ever loved?
This is more than the best fanfics I have ever read. This is one of the best stories period I have ever read. Ingenious really. You have a way with words. Don't give up on writing.
Summary: The year is 1758. Another five years have passed since the last Triwizard Tournament, and the excitement in Hogwarts is almost tangible. Like the rest of his schoolmates, sixth-year Hufflepuff Richard Cudney, a quiet boy with no enemies, has thought long and hard about what he'd do with his prize money, but when finally presented with the opportunity to participate in the prestigious event, he has second thoughts about the risks, his knowledge, and his abilities.
As he travels to Durmstrang for the tournament, he meets several friends, and enemies, all of whom watch his every move intently. Amidst the animosity cleverly hidden behind each face, even the faces he knew so well, could Richard find someone to embrace?
Title subject to change as I toy with the various themes in this story.
This is Marauder by Midnight from Gryffindor.
I really like this story so far. I keep hoping you'll update it. Please do. :)
Summary: A Marauder-era fic - this story takes a look at all the characters we've come to love (and hate), as well as an OC or two thrown in for good measure. Follow the Marauders through seven years at Hogwart's, with appearances from the infamous Black sisters, Lucius Malfoy, Regulus Black, and of course the one and only Severus Snape.
There are a bunch of pairings in this story (although romance is not necessarily the central theme) to include James/Lily, Lucius/Narcissa, a splash of Lucius/Bella and unrequited Snape/Lily, and finally, plenty of Sirius/OC. Enjoy!
Over 120,000 reads! Wow! Thanks everyone!
Oooh, interesting. I always wondered what made James chicken out at the end. This makes perfect sense. :D
Too cute. Love this story.
By far my favorite chapter so far. I love Anne.
I'm so excited for next chapter then! This was very touching, I love seeing things through Severus' eyes.
Btw, it should be skeptically, not sceptically.
Author's Response: Ah, these are my attempts to be more British - it somehow feels more authentic when you spell things the British way, don\'t you think? =)
Thank you for the review!
Aw. I've never been so fond of an original character as I am of Anne. She's a little perfect but without that Mary Sue-ish feeling.
One of the things I love most about your writing is that the characters are always so definitive. There's no question that they are who they are. You have a clear idea of each character and portray them perfectly. The ONLY character that I'm not a big fan of the way you write is Lily. I always pictured her a little kinder and less sarcastic, even with a bimbo like James. But it works in this story.
I also really like the way Peter is in the story. So many times in Marauder-era fics, he's excluded just because the author didn't like him. But the fact is he was their friend and he was around. And you don't make him seem ridiculous and evil all the time. It's very nicely done.
Sirius makes me laugh, too.
Overall, I really like this story. It's very well done and fun to read. Update soon!
Author's Response: Lily is actually pretty kind, but not to James. I think you\'ll like her better once you see her interact with Severus more. I also haven\'t really focused my story on Lily thus far, so you don\'t get to see too much of her!
I\'m glad you like Anne. I don\'t think she\'s perfect at all! She\'s so terrible at schoolwork, the poor thing. Good thing she\'s got Severus around!
God, I love Severus. That was so well written, how he confessed to Sirius that he hadn't told Anne, and Sirius was so surprised.... Love this story!
