I am an avid reader of all things HP, and I love every story I read here. My favorite authors are Subversa, Soap, KASK and Crystallic Rain, but I like many others.
Right now I am working on a Hannah Abbot story set during the Trio's (and Hannah's, as she's in their year) fifth year. Hannah's parents have been brutally murdered by Lord Voldemort and his minions, and Hannah joins Dumbledore's Army, eager to learn how to defend herself and fight against this scourge. She's more focused then she's ever been, but she hasn't told anyone else why she's so different this year. Her friends notice the change in her, but she cannot bring herself to tell anyone else about what happened. However, someone enters her life that just might change that. . .
Okay, yeah, that last part got really silly-sounding, but oh, well.
Please read the favorite stories! They're all wonderful!

Summary: St Mungo’s is a very busy place. And mistakes do happen. Try explaining that to Severus and Hermione.
That was good! I'm sure I could never do anything that good from some random sentences from random books. I really like it!

Falling by muggleborn resentfully
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 7]
Summary: Albus Percival Brian Wulfric Dumbledore, this is my tribute to you.
That was amazing. It was so peaceful and quiet. . . but sad. It was a beautiful, tragic story. . . it was quite poetic, really. You are an amazing writer. I am deeply impressed, but very glad and honored to have read something so very well-crafted and wonderfully written.
Thank you for a wonderful literary experience, from the bottom of my soul.
~Katie
P.S
Ugh! That sounded so cheesy! I swear to Godric it was completely serious, though! You are a truly terrific writer. Also, I was due for some flowery prose.

The Beech Tree by KASK
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 56]
Summary: Near the lake is a beech tree. This beech tree is where two couples declare their love for one another. It holds memories of love lost, found and forgotten. Under this beech tree is where four people spend two sunkissed days, nearly twenty years apart.
This is a Lily/James & Harry/Ginny story.
Oh. Wow. That story was so good. So beautiful. I cried. I can't really think of any other praising things to say. That was the most pretty, calming, romantic, lovely thing I think I have ever read. Thank you for making my, well, night.
Katie
Author's Response: Aw! Thank you! :D
Death Veil by guiding ray of sunlight
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 7]
Summary: Life is full of sacrifises. Some big, and some small. Over the years, the Veil has taken its toll from many, Harry amongst them. This is the story of Jade Brown, who lost the most important person in her life to the Veil.
A one-shot submittion to the HHWP, I am Guiding Ray of Sunlight, of Gryffindor House.
*sob*
I have a brother exactly like Will. . . I can't possibly imagine what it would be like for him to do something like that. . . *curls up and cries*
I. . . I'm afraid I really can't say anything else about this story. . . I guess it just hits too close to home. . . that's what makes it so good. I love this story. . . and yet I don't. . .
Thank you for yet another wonderful reading experience. *cries*
~Katie
Author's Response: Oh, Katie! I\'m sorry! I\'m glad you like it yet you don\'t :)
Realizing It's Never Too Late by Gryffindor Girl
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 609]
Summary: After taking different paths a couple of years ago, Ron and Hermione find each other again, both of them wondering if their separation was a mistake. This applies especially to Hermione, who is leading an empty, unhappy life next to her fiance.
UPDATE (12/7/11): Newest chapter posted. Let us hope next one doesn't take me a year.
OH. MY. GOD. I HATE cliffhangers! That is the worst cliffhanger I have ever had to endure! I simply CANNOT wait until the next chapter comes out! I live this story! I have been reading it all night! If Hermione doesn't divorce Michael soon, I will probably go mad. And if Ron learns to do something right, I would like to kiss him. He and Hermione were MADE for each other! That's just what an overexcited, hyperactive Katie has to say! Thanks so much for the best story (and cliffhanger) I have read in a while (although I keep telling people that their story is the best, I have decided that they are all equally terrific.
Katie
Author's Response: Thank you, Katie. Your review is one of the most exciting and \"hyperactive\" I\'ve read in a while, and actually, I think I\'m going to continue writing right now. You sort of lifted my writer\'s block. Thanks for reviewing!!!!!!!!
*squeee*
I'm so glad it's up! She had her first Ultrasound! She's helping Ginny with the triplets! Everything is progressing so nicely! I just love it!!!!!
Wow. Am I exclamation-point happy or what?
Anyway, it was a great chapter, and I totally loved it and look forward to the next one!
~Katie
Author's Response: I\'m so happy you\'re happy! :P
I'm so glad you finally posted! That was a brilliant chapter! I still think Hermione and Ron need to get over themselves, realize they love each other and get married, but Hermione's pregnant and Ron has a girlfriend. Things do not look good.
But I have my hopes.
Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked it!
*gasp* The baby's room. . . the baby. . . little baby Jane. . . Michael NOT acting like a inconsiderate, uncaring bleeptard. . . it's all almost wonderful!
*shiver* It's almost like. . . dare I say it? . . . like Hermione and Michael are. . . *violent shiver* in love. . . again! Creepy. . . I wonder how long this time will last? *extremely sarcastically*
Anyway, the story is progressing wonderfully well!
~Katie
Author's Response: LOL! Totally loved your review. I don\'t know whether they\'re in love... They certainly decided to give it their best for Jane\'s sake.
Oh, no! Poor them. . . especially Ron. . . he seemed so utterly sad. . . *sob*
*sniff* *gathers herself*
Well, thank you for another completely astounding chapter! I've already fallen in love with wonderful little Jane. . . *coos*
I can't wait until the next one is up!
~Katie
Author's Response: Thank YOU for reading! I hope I don\'t let you down!
I'll Try by guiding ray of sunlight
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 5]
Summary: Draco Malfoy is caught in an internal battle. Will he ever be free of it?
Oh, wow. Oh. Wow. That. . . is just astounding. . .
*yells 'go Draco!'* I always knew he was an amazing person. . . deep down. Every time he'd do something evil, I'd be like 'He has to, he's a pureblood, and Slytherin. . . he's not actually bad. . .'
This story is completely perfect to me, because Draco overcomes his confusion, and all the things he's been taught. . . and he breaks out. *sniff* Kinda like Sirius, I just realized! I mean, Sirius just dumped everything his parents had told him was what you do by the side of the road and ran off down the right path. . . kinda like Draco, except Draco took a little longer. Which makes it all the more amazing, in my humble opinion.
Anyway, thank you again for another terrific story!
~Katie
Author's Response: :D I wrote this *just* post HBP, cause the entire time after he tried killing Dumbledore. I was sitting there going \"He couldn\'t do it. He couldn\'t do it. He\'s a good guy!\" I\'m glad you liked it!
James's Sketchbook by Houlestar
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 53]
Summary: Lily placed the violin on the floor, the sorrowful song only added to her misery. She could still feel Snape’s kiss on her mouth, and wondered why she had done such a thing. Looking up at the doorway she saw James standing there, and a new emotion filled her, something she hadn’t felt before...
Oh. I loved that. I like how you portray James as the sensitive artist. I like them. And Sirius and James being butts to Snape. That was perfectly done, although I hate it when they do that. I really like how James was all preoccupied with his drawing, and how he and Lily bicker for a bit before settling down. it was masterfully done! Bravo.

Draco, The Babysitter by mgle_teacher
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 475]
Summary: After a potion goes awry, Draco finds himself as the newly appointed babysitter of one Hermione Granger, age: 4. As if that wasn't humiliating enough, his wand is confiscated by Potter and he is forced to do everything the dreaded Muggle way.
Note to my readers: This story has been on hiatus forever due to a variety of factors. I do hope to finish it some day, but don't hold your breath. Also, this is NOT a Dramione nor will I change it to be one. Lastly, I am in the process of rewriting this story so bear with me.
Hmmm. This could get interesting. I am now waiting very impatiently for the next chapter! you are very good at cliff-hangers. I think the part with the fistfight was a good display of how 'boys will be boys'. Me likey, me likey!
Katie
Author's Response: Why thank you my friend, I love writing cliff-hangers. And yes, the fist fight was one of my favorite things to write, even though it came out all by itself, I didn\'t plan on it. But, it felt right, what can I say? Lol.
Living Without by guiding ray of sunlight
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 5]
Summary: 'Lay down, your sweet and wary head..." As the song comes drifting through the trees, Brooke is thrown back into memories, memories best left suppressed.
A song-fic to the words of 'Into the West' from LotR, Return of the King.
Wow. I really liked how you managed to make the song fit so well with the plot and what was happening. I'm extremely impressed!
As for the story itself. . . another wow. It was amazingly. . . amazing. I can't think of words for it. . . you are a completely astonishing writer. You really are.
~Katie
Author's Response: Thanks. Actually, I was thinking of re-writing it a bit better (creator\'s perfectionism). But I am glad you like it!\r\n
Peppermint by qwerty83
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 35]
Summary:
They've taught together and lived together, but can their relationship survive the secrets that they've been keeping?
Some surprises are not all that they're cracked up to be.... A story of heartache, passion and anger, told in reverse chronological order. HGSS
Wait. . . does that meant they all just drank poison!? I want to know what happens after the first chapter, now! Darn cliff-hangers.
Well, that one wasn't a cliff-hanger. It was the end, wait, no, the beginning of the story. Well, it was the end, sort of, but it was AT the beginning. Wait, no. I'm so confused!
But I still liked it a whole lot. It was very creative! I liked how Hermione had NO IDEA what the heck was going on, although the fact that she was depressed and angry enough to make a poison is kinda. . . interesting, but it was still a well-brought together story.
Thank you for a nice addition to literature. Or, rather, fanfiction.
Katie
Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked it!
Immortal by guiding ray of sunlight
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 7]
Summary: I'm sitting here, writing down your traits. I don't want to forget. I never used to think that this would be what occupied my mind.
It's been one week since Remus left on that final mission. But what if he came back?
Winter Tales Submittion for prompt #4- The things that go bump in the night. I am Guiding Ray of Sunlight, of Gryffindor House.
*sob*
That story made me cry so hard. . . poor Tonks! *wails*
I really liked how when he came back, it just felt wrong. You did the wrongness perfectly. I mean, even though it was wrong. *laugh through her tears*
This is a really amazing story. . . and you're an incredible writer. . . *sniffle*
lol *watery chuckle* My Pandora station just started playing '21 and Invincible' while I was typing this. Funny, in a really ironic way.
Anyway, thank you so much for granting this little piece of amazing writing to all us undeserving readers.
~Katie
Author's Response: OMG! Katie! I\'m glad you liked it :) This story is my baby. lol. Pandora does tend to have a way of reading our minds, aye?
Of Christmas Past by Chaser921
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 542]
Summary: Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny find themselves in a Muggle hotel in Godric's Hollow on the Winter Solstice. During an enthusiastic snowball fight, Harry and Ginny step through a stone circle that transports them seventeen years into the past. This may be the only chance Harry has to spend with his parents, and it may also be what he needs to figure out his relationship with Ginny.
The warning is for later chapters.
Edit: So, this was originally strictly a Harry/Ginny fic, but Ron and Hermione kept trying to get together too, so I felt like I had to change the category. And there's a bit of Lily/James in there too, though they're already married, and I've also added a bit of Remus/Tonks. Poor Sirius is the only Singleton (though he may manage to get a girl of his own)!
Edit: This story was cannon until after Deathly Hallows came out, so I changed it to Alternate Universe, but it's still pretty close to cannon. Only a few things will end up being different when the story ends.
Edit: I've changed all of the chapter titles to the titles of Christmas songs that I felt reflected the events in the chapters best. Tell me what you think! Does it fit?
Oh. I'm crying so hard right now. . . that was so sad. . . Harry's always held it so tightly to him, and now he's letting go. . . oh my. . . I have no words. . .
That was a wonderful chapter, and I can't wait for the next one! I hope it's a little faster. *hint hint* No offense meant, but this is a really good story, and I don't want it abandoned!
Thank you thank you thank you so much!
*sniff*
~Katie
*sob* Oh, I just read this chapter again, and. . . *sniffle* I can't stand it. . . it's so sad, how Lily tries to comfort him and unknowingly makes it worse. . . not that she's a bad person, or anything! In fact, I really like how you portray her. She's very nice, just how I imagine Lily to be in the books.
And James is wonderfully, hilariously. . . James-y. He's just great. In a, y'know, Marauder sort of way.
Thank you for this, most wonderful chapter, and please update soon!

Smells Like Sirius Black by Soap
Rated: Professors [Reviews - 873]
Summary: Hermione Granger finds herself in an unusual place, an unusual time for that matter. Through an unintentional mishap, she is tossed right into the mix with James Potter, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Sirius Black. Will she make it back to her own time without altering the future irreparably? And what will happen when she returns?
Sirius/Hermione
Thanks to everyone who nominated this story for a Quicksilver Quill, and congratulations to the winners!!
That was wonderful. I really, honestly can't think of anything else to say. I really adore it, and I am sure I will reread it many times. It will stay with me forever. I mean it.
Katie
*adores*
I just finished rereading this story, and of course I loved it just as much the second (wait... it's actually third, I think...) time around as I did the first (or, of course, second).
I just love the way Sirius and Hermione fit so perfectly. And I absolutely ADORE the way he came back and managed to recover so lovelyly. (That's not a word, is it? Eh, whatever.) I just love the idea that if I fell in love with someone, even if something like that happened and we were separated for twenty years (at least, in Sirius' case), we could still be completely in love at the end of the story. Or life. Or twenty years.
Anyway, thank you so so so much for writing and posting this amazing story. I love it. So much.
~Katie
Author's Response: Thank you very much for the wonderful review!
