Hi, my name is James and I have a problem. I am addicted to Harry Potter. I am fairly new to Harry Potter Fan Fiction, having started reading it in June of 2007. I was waiting for DH to come out and had already reread the series so I stumbled along MNFF. I started reading a story that I printed off in the library of the local college. I cannot find the Authors name of the title of the story but it was good. Next I came across Just Married......Kinda by ColorOfAngels. I was addicted from then on out.
Currently, I am completly addicted to Harry Potter and the Serpent's Eye by Marauder9744 (which I stayed up until 5 am reading the first 15 Chapters and had to go to work at 7am), Skeletons in the Closet by Merlynne, and For Bitter or Worse by Kerichi, which gets updated every Friday :). These 3 are good authors and I can't wait for their updates. I am also reading Grimmrook's Epilouges story arc, and I have finally gotten to the current material. The Epilouges Part III: The Nightshades is wonderful. It is rated Professors but is a great read for all 'of age' fans.
I also have to say something special about Fawkes' Gifts by red haired mom. It is a pre DH fic that is really excellent. You have to check it out, she is amazing. Just be prepared, you need to know your Harry Potter to read her stuff she makes alot of references to past events and ties them in wonderfully (like the questons of Snape in chapter 3).
Make sure to write reviews for these 5 authors, they have always responeded to my comments and I am sure they would love to hear from you.
Summary: *Nominated for 2006 Annual Quicksilver Quills Awards for Best Original Character in reference to Rathius Ratbone*
It is Ginny's last year at Hogwarts, and the lessons she will learn are not restricted to books and classes. As she struggles to hold onto that which she holds most dear, the youngest Weasley will come to learn much about love, friendship, and herself.
This is the fifth story in the Epilogues story arc. If this is the first of my stories you have sat down to read, please read Right Here, One Good Day, and Epilogues Part I prior to reading this fic.
Really great story. I was so mad at Harry and Ginny at times and at others I loved them both. Ratbone was wonderful and I hate Vane. Thanks for the great story.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, I\'m really glad you enjoyed it. Again, I\'m going to say that I really hope you decide to join me forthe final story in the series. It is by far not nearly as focused on the romance as all the rest of mys tories, but on the other hand we do see a few friends we met along the way in this and other stories, and people are saying it\'s the best of the bunch. Thank you again and hope to hear from you soon.
Wow, that was...that was...wow, just wow. You might have just put ColorOfAngels in her place. That was...wow. Too bad its 4am and I have to go to sleep. I loved this chapter. Harry and Ginny loved this chapter too. :)
Author's Response: I know not what you speak of when you talk about putting ColorOfAngels in her place. I\'m glad you enjoyed it though. I don\'t write... that kind of stuff too terribly often, but thee is a little more of that kind of thing in Part III, so hopefully, I see you\'ve finished this story, but hopefully you\'ll move on to part III and join us there! Thanks so much, and sory it took so long to respond to the review.
Summary: What does Lord Voldemort do in his spare time? Well, that's an excellent question. Who would have known that the Dark Lord has a blog? (He also has a loyal following of readers, most of whom are Death Eaters and who post their comments.) Voldemort dispenses advice on everything from murder methods to germ protection to Power Rangers to shoes, and gives an account of the life of an evil overlord. But is he posting too much personal information online? And will Harry read it and find out more about the Dark Lord than Voldemort ever intended? Read and see.
WARNING: Extremely OOC behaviour from almost all.
RUNNER-UP in the 2007 Quicksilver Quills Awards for Best Humour fic! Also nominated like 21 times, because apparently my readers are as insane as I am!
wow, just wow! I found this story in your signature on the forum. I laughed for ten minuets while reading this. I laughed so much that I had trouble reading it. Awesome!!!
Author's Response: Oh, thank you so much! I always love having new readers!
This was really good but the first chapter was still the best!.
Author's Response: Thanks! I\'m a bit surprised to hear you say that, because I kind of liked the 4th and 6th chapters the best... maybe it\'s because subsequent chapters kind of lost the shock of the original, like you now expected Voldemort to do outrageously out of character things?
Summary: A 7th year fic in which Harry, Ron and Hermione search for the remaining Horcruxes and ultimately battle Voldemort. Post HBP; in canon, no slash. H/G R/Hr
Chapter 25 is up; Chapter 26 is with my beta!
Pretty good! I liked this chapter alot although it didn't get us anywhere. I am glad to see you aren't afraid to kill hunderds in the course of the war, many authors won't do that but It happens. I can't wait until Christmas:)!!
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Jameswys, I really appreciate the review!
My guess is that Kingsley and Mad Eye are dead. Maybe one of them lived but I doubt we will see them soon if they did. I can't wait for the next chapter now. I am really excited to hear Percy's tale of the battle. Keep up the good work. Oh, and I now suspect Lupin more than ever before. I wish Harry would actually go to Godric's Hallow to prove me right.
Wow good story I stayed up all night reading the whole story. Can't wait for the next update!!!
Author's Response: :)
Wow good story I stayed up all night reading the whole story. Can't wait for the next update!!!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review, Jameswys, I really appreciate it! But I hope that you don\'t lose to much sleep over my story :) Glad you liked it!
The mystety around the Cloak sounds intreasting. I liked that we found out some about Harry's family and that the green liquid ahs a name. I cannot wait for the next chapter. Let's hear what Kreacher has to say!
Author's Response: Thanks a bunch, Jameswys, I\'m glad you liked it!
This was a really good chapter and I really was happy to see it updated before DH. Even though you gave the clue about the thumbprint sized key I still could not remember about the thimble. It was a great chapter and I cannot wait until this gets updated again.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Jameswys, I really appreciate it! I was a little upset that I couldn\'t get the next two chapters in before DH (I had up to Ch. 20 written and betaed) but I\'m happy with where I left of. Glad you liked it and enjoy Deathly Hallows!
Ron and Hermione keep getting so close to the truth it is great. They just keep missing. I cannot wait until the next chapter. When will you update again? I am guessing that it wil be after DH :(.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review, Jameswys, I really appreciate it! Yeah, the next chapter is in the queue but I doubt it will be up before the queue closes... sorry :( Glad you liked it!
Awesome chapter, I loved it. It was one of the best. Your description of the 3 hooded figures made me think at first that Lupin, Tonks and Krum were all Death Eaters. That was a scary part. I am worried about Ginny now. One dream was just Harry worrying, 2 makes me fear the worst. I wish Harry would have told them he was okay. Also what happened to the Hermione/Ron storyline? We haven't much of it since
The Riddle Orphanage (ch. 18). I hope Lupin is right and Harry has a good Christmas.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Jameswys, I really appreciate it! The Ron/Hermione story line has kind of taken a back seat to the Horcrux hunt, but don\'t worry, something big is coming between them. Glad you enjoyed!
Author's Response: Thanks a bunch! I really appreciate it!
Awesome Chapter. I cannot wait for the next.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Jameswys, I\'m glad you liked it!
Another great chapter! I really liked the 7 rooms. Voldemort would have thought that to be powerful. My only question is how would Voldemort get through the hedge room? It took multiple people, the thing he thought impossilble because he operated alone. I still really liked it though.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Jameswys, I really appreciate the review! I agree that Voldemort would have thought 7 rooms to be very powerful. You\'ll get that answer to your question in the very end... I promise lol It\'s a rather big plot point right now but it\'s very important. Glad you enjoyed!
Summary: Sixteen years after the conclusion of the second part of the Epilogues trilogy, the wizarding world finds itself again at the mercy of a new menace. Can England's top Aurors vanquish this new foe before time runs out?
UPDATE: With cool new links to supplemental material!
Okay, I really liked this chapter. It was good and I was glad to see more of the nightshades. I have a new theory. There are 6 disciples and the master (hehe 7.... magically powerful, cough). They all represent something too, the seven deadly sins. The way you have described the Beast, Wall, and Mirror lead me to this conclusion (Also I am a big Full Metal Alchemist fan). I am hoping I am correct and I guess we will have to see. I am getting scary close to catching up to the current material. I am so excited. :)
Author's Response: Well, by now you are caught up to the current material which actually sucks for you since it takes me so long to update these days, but we\'ll talk about that later. I can confirm at least one of your theories as it is discussed later on in the story, about the most magically powerful number, but the seven deadly sins, well, I can\'t do that, and will actually use that as one of the few theories to discredit because to follow through with this would make this story an HP telling of the movie se7en. Sorry, not gonna happen, I grew up in the eighties and saw what sitcom television did to a Christmas Carol, and don\'t feel like doing the same to a movie I thoroughly enjoy. There is some se7en influence in the story, though, and I will explain that after the story is over. Again, thank you so much.
Wowyou have come up with alot of names for this story, haven't you. My count is 12 dead Aurors and 4 memebers of the nightshades that we know of right. You have certanly been busy. Anyway, I love your stories and I am now wondering why the nightshades aren't attacking Ginny, Hermione and the kids. We will see.
Author's Response: You ask some good questions, and unfortunately, some of them I can\'t answer, like why aren\'t the Nightshades going after the family? Can\'t answer that, but yeah, I created a lot of names, and I tried to give as many of them as possible their own personality, their own character instead of having a bunch of paper dolls standing in. That\'s just me, anyway, thank you so much!
Great Chapter. I liked finding out about the nightshades lives and I agree with
ron it is a sad life.
Author's Response: Okay, for some reasons your reviews went all over the place, so I\'m going to quit this jumping around and hit them up in order. I think if I had one thing I screwed up in writing this story, it might have been being a little too stingy with information. Granted, this was a mystery, so I was intentionally trying to be sneaky and conceal things, but you know, this was definitely something I wanted to make sure came out eventually; this other side, a pitiable side to the Nightshades in how they lived and how they were so terribly misused. Granted, they were their own people, and were capable of moral decisions, but in a way, they were very much victims as well. Even before Rogan killed them.
Great chapter. I love a good duel when drinking. I think Hermione was the best duel.
Author's Response: Man, this chapter was so much fun. I wish I did drink while I wrote it, I think I would have had even more fun. You know, I didn\'t start off writing action, as you know, but I really feel like I\'m in my wheel house when I start writing action; you just get to have so much fun with the language, you know? So you thought Hermione\'s was the best, huh? I definitely intended that one to be the most visually impressive, I\'ll give you that much in both parts. I think the Harry Reaper battle was one of my favorites to write, though. Because of the nature of their duel, I got to take a different rhythm, a much more thorough rhythm that I hoped kind of underlined how deadly it was. And then the combo that Harry unleashes, I\'ve been dying to use that for AGES! Anyway, I\'m so glad you enjoyed!
Thank God I got into this story so late I don't have a cliffhanger comming up. It was a great chapter and I loved seeing Simon. The opening of this chapter was great and really creepy. I loved it.
Author's Response: Yeah, enough people liked Simon that I had to give him something of an encore, and what a better way to do it. as for the opening, well, I think initially I wasn\'t going to do that, at least not that early, but one of the things that has proven to be the most challenging aspect of writing this story is gaging exactly how much is the right amount of information to let leak about the Nightshades over the course of the telling. letting just the slightest bit of information slip too soon, and I think the whole story is ruined, but by not giving enough, and people will lose interest. To this regard, I think I might have done a little better by being a little more generous with the information, but also, the effect might be diminished in that I\'m now only writing about a chapter a month, so it\'s not like if you are having questions, you can keep reading until satisfied. Ah well. Thank you again!
