I'm in my mid-twenties and have been a huge HP fan since 2001. Other than all things Harry, I also love CSI, Law and Order, and singing at the top of my lungs (usually to 3 Doors Down). If you asked my co-workers they would probably state that they think I'm a bit crazy, especially when I'm dancing at my desk to my iPod...

I've loved the site for awhile and just recently got the nerves to post my own story.

I hope you enjoy Talitha, she's a creation that came to me one day when I was walking my dog up a huge hill, listening to (what else) 3DD's "You Don't Know Me", the lyrics, "You love me but you don't know who I am, I'm torn between this life I lead and where I stand" just clicked in my head and Talitha came to life!

Wow Melinda, that was incredible. I got tears in my eyes at the end with Harry holding hands with his family and singing Silent Night. What an incredibly touching moment. And the mistletoe was hilarous! It always amazes me how much emotions you manage to put me through in a single chapter! Anger (that evil awful Umbridge, a COMPROMISE? We better hear more about this soon.), melancoly (Ron, hurray he's OK, but boo, bad short term memory and he brought up Sirius, and Remus, spending the holidays alone, sniffle), great humor (Pansy is such a cow), and now even Christmas Cheer! (I was born 3 days before Christmas and I'm a wicked sucker for the holidays). The idea of Ginny making Harry's present is very sweet and I'm sure those stones will come in handy (especially since Harry doesn't think so). But it always leaves me in awe how pure Harry's heart is. To feel pity for Iris at losing her father, and to imagine what his life was like those first 11 years...and to turn into such an incredibly GOOD soul is nothing short but AMAZING. Anyways, love the banter between Harry and Ginny and loved the chapter as always. Great work, keep it up and I'll be on baited breath for next week's installment!

Author's Response: Aww, thanks much! I like Harry being part of Weasley family moments, myself. He\'s far richer than Malfoy will ever be, and I think some part of Draco does know that, and that\'s why he\'s so envious of Harry. I\'m always amazed by how pure his heart has remained, despite his upbringing.

Wow, Melinda, I really loved that ending. I'm so sorry I haven't been reviewing the past few chapters, but for some reason, it says my review has been added, and it never appears. I have a plan this time though, heh heh heh...
I really loved this epilogue, it was just so well written, and I love how you've written Harry...which I always have, but I really enjoyed his character in this chapter, I can see him as a sort of nervous father, but loving every second of it just the same. And leave it to Hermione to want to wait for everything to quiet down...again, I can totally see her as a nervous bride, upset because things are out of her control. (I was the same way, my personality is very close to hers!) It was just a beautiful ending, I think the best you've written, and I loved every second of it. I hope you'll keep us posted on the list if you write a one shot, and when you get that book of yours published...I'll be waiting to purchase it. Great work!

P.S. Am I right thinking in the end we have a wannabee Lord Dudders? =)

Author's Response: Thanks! I\'m glad you enjoyed it. Join the mailing list off my website if you like - I\'ll post any new project ideas there first. I think Harry would make a great dad, nervous, but he\'d throw himself to the task whole heartedly. He\'s got so much love to give.

I really enjoyed the first part of this half of the chapter...the intense feelings of love Ginny and Harry have for one another jumps off the screen, and the way you had Harry ask her "You love me?" broke my heart. Well done, and I can't wait to read the next half!

Author's Response: Thanks! I\'m glad you liked that scene. I always think what a foreign thing those words must be to him, and I like exploring that.

What an evil cliffie! Bad Melinda! =P That was very well written, and I really like how you describe the walls as something living within them. But I think you are up to something with the dementors....I know Harry's weakened as he at Azkaban, but would the two actually hurt him that much? Oh I'm dying here...hurry hurry!

Author's Response: I\'m glad you found Azkaban to be creepy. I think it would be. And, yeah...I think the Dementors would hurt him if they got the chance.

Oh, such wonderful angst! You break my heart and I love it. Beautiful chapter and my favorite part was Harry betting that Fred would be the one to finally burst Vernon's vein. Well done. I love it.

Author's Response: Hee, thanks! My beta liked that line, too.

BUT WHAT ABOUT HERMIONE???????????? Ye gods, Melinda, you are killing me! Wonderful chapter, filled with very well-written action and a well done character view point switch. I love those. But I hope Hermione's OK!!!!!!!! Can't wait for more!

Wow, I must say that I do feel a little bad for Percy, but proud of him for doing the right thing. But you reap what you sow, right?
Oooh, I hate that Umbridge! I really really want Harry to just give it to her, and make her suffer for all the suffering she's causing him and the rest of the Wizarding World...evil, evil toad!
As for George and Shannon...aww, cute. Nice touch throwing that in there, by the way.
And I feel for Ron, having been caught in that situation before, I feel his pain. =) Nice one and I can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Giggle, thanks! Poor Ron - buit I can see Mrs. Weasley doing that. She\'s always worried about propriety, and I imagine she\'s feeling very out of control of everything, so she latches onto anything she CAN control. Poor Ron, indeed. And poor Hermione!

No way! I'm 100% with Ron here! (By the way, I loved it when he called Malfoy a ferret!) Malfoy is dangerous...JKR told us herself that he is still a bad boy. I know he lowered his wand, but I don't think that totally redeems him. He is in over his head and I believe he would do anything to get back on top. I know Harry's learned a few tricks Melinda, but I don't trust Malfoy!!!!!!
Ahem, anyways, great chapter as always. I was glad Ginny stood up for herself, and Harry as well. The four of them chose to take what was right over what was easy, and I believe they would have taken Dumbledore's words to heart. That is my favorite quote from the whole story, and the most important lesson for everyone.
You painted the family's reactions very well, as ugly as I imagined they would be. Bill, in particular, was pitch perfect as a older brother would be to his baby sister. I was very proud that Ron stood up for Ginny, it must have taken a lot for him to realize that. And finally, I wonder if Hermione's hair will grow in any smoother? Chemo patients, in particular, have much finer, baby soft hair when it finally grows back...maybe this will be a blessing in disguise for our favorite bushy haired character? After all, she did like what Sleek-eazy's did for her, it was just much too "big of a bother to do everyday". GREAT WORK!

Author's Response: Heh, you\'ll just have to wait and see with Draco ;) As for Hermione, well, you\'ll see more of her and her reaction next chpater. It won\'t be a quick, easy fix for our poor girl this time.

I have to say I love drunk Hermione almost as much as drunk Harry! Turning Draco back into his ferret-ish self was great. I thought having George and Fred stand up beside Harry was a very nice scene. The scene with Percy also highlighted the fact of Harry's growing maturity, as did the scene where Harry contrasts his situation with Draco's. That was very well done. I don't think I would have seen in that light had you not pointed it out. As usual, great work and I can't wait for the next one.

That was great...I really enjoyed it. How exciting that Harry felt the dark magic...it does seem like it could be a true possibility...and I could hear Ron mimicking Smith! I'm eager for them to get back to the musuem, I'm sure they'll find something! Great work!

Author's Response: Hee, I\'m glad you could imagine that with Ron. Yeah...Harry\'s shivers in HBP intrigued me, so that\'s where that came...

Oy! What a chapter! I don't even know where to begin. What an evil Umbridge, both to Ron, Harry and Remus. Grrrr.... My poor Remus! But Ron woke up! Hooray! And he SEEMS to be OK for now....I HOPE he is OK. Well, great work, full of wonderfully written emotion and angst (which I like by the way) and I can't wait for the next one!

Author's Response: Thanks! I love the angsty emotional stuff as well, so I\'m glad you enjoyed it.

WOW! Totally worth the wait. Draco and Narcissa in Sirius' house? I really don't blame Harry for being furious about it. I really enjoyed this chapter, it was smashing! I was worried about Ron and Hermione though, glad to see that they were OK, and that was good of Bill to actually trust and use Harry's abilities instead of just pushing him off for his own protection. Good to see someone notices his strengths at least. I'm also impressed about his ability to FEEL the dark magic, I think he must have in the cave, now that I think about it. He always shivers a little, or feels a sudden breeze before something bad happens, ever since Book 1 in the Forbidden Forest. So wicked good chapter, and I can't wait for the next one. (Godric's Hollow, yeah!)

Author's Response: Hi. I\'m glad you thought it was worth the wait. I\'m eager to see where (or if) JKR uses Harry\'s instincts about the Dark Magic, as well.

WTF?!!!!!!!!!!!!! After all that evil nasty woman did, they put her in charge of the whole wizarding world? What the heck is wrong with them?!!! Stupid ministry, messing things up as usual. (Hey, didn't Hagrid say that in Book 1?) Idiots, idiots, idiots!
As for Snape, I still think he's a double-crosser and I stand by my belief that when Sirius heard people shouting in Azkaban that the "double-crosser double crossed them" some might have been talking about him, not just Peter.
And as for Ron, he just best be OK. My beta fish is named Ron, and I'll just let you chew on that fact for a moment...
LOL. But seriously, I think if anything happens to Ron, then Bella will be a marked woman in Harry's eyes. I think it might be enough to drive him to the edge with his barely-controlled rage with her.
Overall, great work, very well written, the line about the water being slimy and alive made me shiver. I can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Yep, the did just that - and I do think Hagrid said somthing like that in book 1. I\'ve never thought about that theory with Snape before. Hmm, interesting. I tend to think in canon Snape will turn out on the side of the good...but for this story - I\'m having too much fun making him bad.

Wow, how did I miss this one? Bad me! Great chapter, I loved Moody calling Draco everything BUT Draco (especially Dudley!) I believe that Snape and Dumbledore DID NOT have this whole thing planned out, I do not care what anyone says, I've thought Snape was a baddie from book 1, and JKR is always reminding us not to think too highly of him. Great chapter, I can't wait to go on and read the next one, and I'll leave a better review there...

Author's Response: Thanks! I\'m torn on Snape - I can honestly see it going either way. Both sides have valid arguments. I think that\'s what I like about Snape - he\'s such an enigma.

WHAT AN EVIL CLIFFIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, now I'm all distracted about what I wanted to say! First of all, I wrote a really nice review for the last chapter and it said that it had been submitted, but they decided to not post it for whatever reason...grrr....so I'll be sure to write a nice one for this chapter.

A couple of favorite quotes: "Black sheep?" Fred gasped, his eyes wide with mock indignation. "I don’t think we even count as sheep – more like a distant goat."

"The Headless Hats and all Weasley products never belong in the same category as Dolores Umbridge – may she rest in Centaur heaven."

And I love the fact that Hermione's hair is growing back, and more controllable too. I think I mentioned that in my review of the chapter where we found out she lost her hair. HAHA! I caught on to your plan! (For the one and only time)

I loved the beach scene, and the way you wrapped it up...very well done. It was superior writing.

But Moody would be disappointed in Harry, I think...he let his guard down just because Pansy was crying! Oh, I can't wait to read the rest...wonderful job!

Author's Response: Aw, bummer! I hate when my reviews get eaten like that! Anyway, thanks much. I\'m glad you enjoyed it, and yes, you did see where I was going with Hermione. As for Moody, I tend to think even he might have fallen for that trick. It was the perfect moment to disarm his opponent. Pansy was just more Slytherin than he\'d anticipated.

Ooohhh...well done! I really enjoyed that chapter, particularly the scene in the garden (and the image of Hermione wiping jam off of Ron's face, oh, priceless). I've always thought of Dudley as a Crabbe or Goyle, so it was nice someone to validate my opinion. I can't wait to read the next one and I'll write a better review there. Nice work!

Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah, I could see Dudley that way, myself - a follower rather than a leader.
