You Want To Make A Memory? by Potter

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Chapter Ninety Six is posted!

This is the story of four boys. This is the story of a boy from a family he wants to escape from. This is the story of a boy who is from a family he loves deeply, but lacks the gift of a best friend. This is the story of a boy who has been living with a curse his entire life, fighting to overcome it. This is the story of a boy who wishes to show people what he can do. This is the story of how these four boys came to know each other, of how they became friends. This is the story of their unbreakable bond, of a bond that could survive any test, any trial. This is a story that will ultimately end in tragedy.

Nominated for a 2007 and 2009 Quicksilver Quill Award - Best Marauder's Era Featured Mugglenet Fanfiction, October 2011

Hello Potter,

good start. I was especially pleased to see the positive comment about Hufflepuff! The boys are all in character. It was thoughtful of them to let Remus sleep instead of trying to wake him up sooner (bless!).

Very sweet.

May I suggest a few Brit-tips? Brits don't use the term 'alma mater' - in the Hogwarts context it would just be 'house'. Booger is, I think, an Americanism, Brits would say 'bogey' (although I think it's fair to sy, it's disgusting either way *chuckle*). And when Sirius offered Remus some sweets, as a Brit he would probably have said 'We have plenty', not, 'We got plenty'.

Otherwise, this is off to a good start and I'm just about to click on the 'next' button for chapter two.

Kara's Aunty ;)

Author's Response: I have a love for Hufflepuff, so it won't get knocked in my story. Yeah that was Peter's moment of thoughtfulness, he has more coming. I'm trying to insert Britishism into it, with the spelling and everything. I'm constantly editing it whenever I learn more, so they'll change. I think thats the only time I put 'booger' instead of 'boogey'. Usually I remember that one. And the 'We got plenty' is definitely a typo, unless I put 'We've got plenty'. Thanks for reading!

Character Haikus by ron lover

Hello ron lover,

too true! Dudders is a Mummy's boy! Thank goodness he mellowed out a bit in the last book. There had to be at least one person in that ghastly family who showed a bit of remorse for their treatment of poor Harry...

Well done,

M :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I was smiling the whole time when I read that part in the book. It changed my opinion of him. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Father by ron lover

Summary: A poem about Harry dying.
Reviewer: KarasAunty Signed
Date: 09/15/09 Title: Chapter 1: Father

Hello ron lover,

this wee poem was short, yet poignant. Those poor children, seeing their father die (I hope, at least, it was of old age).

Nice to someone else with poetry onsite!

Kara's Aunty :)

Author's Response: Thank you, Kara's Aunty! I imagined him dying of old age, so that's what I'm going with. Thank's for reading!

Hello Natalie,

Lovely poem. Poor Severus! You reflect his pain well. Don't make this your last poem, it would be a shame,

M :)

Author's Response: Hey M!

Thank you for your lovely words. I wasn't convinced about Severus becoming poetic all of a sudden, but...ah...if I can get so poetic, so can he. As for more poems coming from my side, I will surely try. ;)

Thanks again for dropping by!

Luceafărul by Calico

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: On a night soon after Voldemort's destruction, Charlie tells Ginny the legend of Luceafărul. But is it her story as well?
Reviewer: KarasAunty Signed
Date: 11/28/09 Title: Chapter 1: Luceafărul

Hello Calico,

a lovely story. Full of depth and feeling. I liked the Romanian parable and how Ginny identified with its heroine. Lucky for her, her own fate was not quite so tragic.

Beautifully written.

Hello Virgil,

this was very sad and poignant It conveys Severus' anguish and shame at his past words, as well as the love he bore Lily and the grief he must feel at living without her

Nicely done.

Hello clabbert,

Makes for a chilling read from the victim's perspective. Atmospheric, tragic and sad (because the poor sod died).

Nicely done indeed!

Kara's Aunty :)

Author's Response: Thank you for the lovely review! Yeah, the poor sod dies, but it was their own fault for taking a walk on a full moon. Isn't it hardwired into our DNA not to do that? Well, it should be. <.< ~Bella

nice to see Lily and James in a post Hogwarts (post 'I hate you, no I lurrve you') fic. I was also delighted to see the Longbottoms, too!

Hello Magical Maeve,

wow. That was beautiful, poignant and elegant. You've captured the tragedy and miracle of that dreadful night very well in less than two hundred words!

Very good work.

M :)

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm liking the word elegant - I don't think anyone has ever described my poems as elegant before so that is quite the complement. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :-)

The Gathering Storm and the Crib by hestiajones

Hello hestiajones,

what a lovely poem. Simultaneously sad and hopeful. Makes me feel for poor Lly because she has no idea what's coming, although in retrospect, I suppose it could apply to Alice Longbottom as well.

Nice work, m'dear!

 M :)

Author's Response: Maureen,

What a pleasant surprise! To tell you the truth, I imagined Lily as the speaker. But I suppose it really can be applied to Alice as well. :D

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

very, very amusing! Archie and Theo got exactly what they deserved - and then some. Though I still can't help but feel sorry for them. Boils on their bits? OUCH!!

 M :o)

Author's Response: MAUREEN!

Getting a review from my Comedy Queen is such an honour. ;)

Yes, those two. What were they thinking, making a boy do that in front of the entire class? But - haha! Yeah, I do feel sorry for them as well.

Tales of the Battle by Northumbrian

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Over fifty people died at the Battle of Hogwarts. There are dozens of stories of loss, betrayal, heroism and sacrifice. These are some of those stories.

Hello Northumbrian,

this is a superb series of pov's. You have really managed to bring the Battle of Hogwarts alive from so many different perspectives. An electrifying read, and I'm thoroughly enjoying every chapter.

Well written and totally addictive,

Kara's Aunty ;)

Author's Response:
Thank you.

I'm now working on the final (twenty third) chapter. These stories have been a bit of an experiment for me. Twenty thre narrators in first, third and even second person perspective and sometimes set long after the battle. I'm glad that it's working.

To Improve a Hero's Image by Cinderella Angelina

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •

Hello Cinderella Angelina,

nice to see another Neville writer about. You got his personality spot-on. I enjoyed the makeover theme, though I wanted to happily smack Terry and the team at time for saying such rude things about Nev - 'cos he's perfect just the way he is!

An engaging, quirky tale. It made me smile to see Nev put those pushy fashionistas in their place!

Negotiation with Death by Nagini Riddle

Written for the Negotiation with Death challenge in the Poetry Anyone? Forum.
Reviewer: KarasAunty Signed

Very lovely and sad. You've managed to capture the sense of utter helplessness and desperation (for Harry) which surely commanded Lily's last moments whilst also touching on the grief for James' death that she would never have the time to fully experience.

Sad, sweet and brings a definite lump to my throat.

Kara's Aunty ;)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I have a hard time trying to imagine what it must have been like for Lily in those last moments, but I'm glad that you feel that I've captured it well. :)

Very nice glimpse into the post-war life of Harry. I particularly enjoyed the whole portrait-repair element of the story, which was fascinating and clever..

Author's Response:
Thank you.
The portrait first appeared in “The Badly Fitting Coat” and Harry’s grandparents will be back. I wanted to give him a better connection to his parents.
