Harry Potter and the Heart of the Hero. by Jeograph
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 135]
Summary: Dumbledore is gone, or is he? Harry feels the weight of the world rests on his shoulders, but he is soon to learn that his brooding nature and desire to face his fate alone may be his greatest weakness. It is his emotions, or rather his capacity for emotion that makes him strong, and his relationships his greatest source of strength.
When the summer begins and he faces a fortnight with the Dursleys everything he knows, or rather thinks he knows comes into question. Can he... should he do this all alone? And is he anywhere near ready?
Hogwarts is to be re-opened, the Ministry officially endorsing it as the safest possible place to be. As his birthday approaches there are monumental surprises in store for Harry. Who is he really? And what about his family, who came before his mother and father? Why is the Potter name so famous, and yet so unknown?
Encouraged not to run off to face his fate he returns to Hogwarts for his final year, but surprises abound at the school as well.
Can Harry become the wizard he needs to be to face the Dark Lord? Will he let the people he respects and love really help him? And what of help from unexpected sources; sources he might never trust?
Jeo- once again I am impressed with your talents. You really should consider publishing something. You have the talent & imagination enough to do it well. Anyway, I Digress. Again you make me want for more. I really enjoyed the info regarding Harry's family past & the reasonj no-one ever gave such a prestigeous family a second glance, very clever. As usual I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter, and as another reviewer stated I also really enjoy the "draco" saga. Keep up the excellent work and again thank you for sharing you talents. PS...do not be discouraged with the fewreviews you get. It is quite possible that your readers are too stunned and in awe of the story to form words...
Thanks again
Author's Response: Thank you so much, and once again for the extremely flattering review. I don\'t know if I can buy that people are in awe of my story... but I take it as am assume complement. I have determined that I will continue with this story, even though we all know now how JKR\'s story comes to it\'s end. I do hope that a few will stick around to read it and offer reviews.
Thanks so much for your kind words.
I am so glad you hav not abandoned this story. You truly have a talent and I for one am thankful you are willing to share it. So Harry is the grandson of Luna's Great Aunt huh? Very clever and Yaxley getting shot in the ministry atrium is poetic justice.... Keep up the writing, we are kkeping the faith.
Author's Response: I am happy to still see you here. I was watching for a review from you! Thanks for sticking it out. \r\nI am sort of looking at it this way... I am writing this for fun, and I\'ll never make anything from it, nor would I want too, so I should have some fun with it, and Philomena has always felt like a Lovegood... with some very Lovegood (if somewhat more down-to-earth) qualities, so I thought creating this relationship would be a fun, and interesting twist. After all, the Lovegoods are a pure blood family, even if they are painfully eccentric. And as they are technically not blood relations it should create no conflict with canon. And, now that JKR\'s book seven is history... I thought I would start using some of those characters where it is appropriate. What did you think of Sean Fleming?\r\n\r\nThanks for the read and the review.
Jeograph !!! I was about to lose hope of this story continuing. You have restored my faith. I love this story and they way you tell it. You make me feel like I am there witnessing all first hand. I got goosebumps when Mena's portrait asked to have a private word with Molly. I'm guessing she "saw" something about Harry & Ginny (Mena's reaction when she heard Ginny's name was the tell) & Molly's stopping of Arthur's wrath (completely accurate as a father). Wow I am so excited this story is going to continue. Please not so long a wait next time !!!
Author's Response: Oh, please do not lose hope! I thought long and hard about abandoning this story after DH came out... I actually have developed an idea for a \"canon\" book eight, a story I would title Harry Potter and the Stygian Circle.
But, as I was plotting out the new story, I realized that this story is too firm in my mind to be left behind... And when I tried to write the other, my mind kept coming back to Harry and Ginny at the Manor. So, I will be continuing this alternate book Seven... I do hope you\'ll stick around for the duration... and keep reviewing.
And... I agree, there was entirely too much time between chapters this time. I will try never to let that happen again.
Thanks so much.
Never Alone by ckwright51
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 426]
Summary: Dumbledore’s gone and Harry, Ron and Hermione have returned to Privet Drive to start their search for the Horcruxes. Their plan not to return to Hogwarts is changed with the reading of Dumbledore’s will. Harry must discover that his friends are a greater help then he can imagine and how to use the “Power the Dark Lord knows not.” With a little romance, action, mystery and even Quidditch along the way, Harry will find out if he and his friends can defeat the greatest Dark Wizard of the age.
This story was completely written before the release of DH or the Order of the Phoenix movie. Any similarities are entirely coincidental.
All reviews will recieve a response!
Yea !!! I love "Buckbeak's Revenge" on Malfoy. Poetic Justice !!! We all knew Umbridge was an old toad now it's proven. I absolutely love this story and await the next chapter with great anticipation
Author's Response: Thanks so much Irish, I really struggled with Draco and Buckbeak, but it was just too ironic to pass up. The next chapter is on the way. Take Care
Of Christmas Past by Chaser921
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 542]
Summary: Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny find themselves in a Muggle hotel in Godric's Hollow on the Winter Solstice. During an enthusiastic snowball fight, Harry and Ginny step through a stone circle that transports them seventeen years into the past. This may be the only chance Harry has to spend with his parents, and it may also be what he needs to figure out his relationship with Ginny.
The warning is for later chapters.
Edit: So, this was originally strictly a Harry/Ginny fic, but Ron and Hermione kept trying to get together too, so I felt like I had to change the category. And there's a bit of Lily/James in there too, though they're already married, and I've also added a bit of Remus/Tonks. Poor Sirius is the only Singleton (though he may manage to get a girl of his own)!
Edit: This story was cannon until after Deathly Hallows came out, so I changed it to Alternate Universe, but it's still pretty close to cannon. Only a few things will end up being different when the story ends.
Edit: I've changed all of the chapter titles to the titles of Christmas songs that I felt reflected the events in the chapters best. Tell me what you think! Does it fit?
Yea An Update !!!. I was thinking you abandonned this story & I was getting bummed. I love this and really loved this chapter in particular. Perhaps hearing it from his father, Harry will pull his head out of his.... Keep this up it is tremendous.
Author's Response: Oh, don\'t worry, I will not abandon this story, even if it takes me two more years to write it! Hopefully it won\'t. Even if I were going to stop working on it, its got so many fans that I\'d definitely let everyone know about it first. But anyway, I\'m really really glad you like it so much! And I\'m hoping Harry will get some sense knocked into him too ;-)
Harry Potter and the Seven-Year War by QwayMelqnu
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 469]
Summary: Harry is steadfast in his decision to break up with Ginny Weasley, hoping that she will be kept safe from Voldemort's clutches, but unforeseen circumstances will push them back together sooner than anyone could have anticipated. Harry finally acknowledges his true feelings for her before setting out on the hunt for the Horcruxes, but unfortunately the subsequent war with Tom Riddle and his followers would end up lasting longer than anyone could’ve expected. Can Harry and Ginny’s love stand the test of time? And how far will Harry go to make sure they are given the chance to find that out?
Well I am very impressed so far. Please tell me you intend on finishing the story.
Author's Response: lol, I am, I am. The hard part is getting the chapters uploaded. I\'ve been trying for 3 weeks to get chapter 3 approved, but they won\'t tell me what\'s wrong with it (personally I don\'t think there is anything wrong - That\'s what a Beta is for!). I\'m glad you like it so far though, thanks for the review!
