Um, I'm sorry, everyone seems to love this fanfiction, but I personally don't think it's very well written. The emotions and feelings of the characters swing from one spectrum to the other from chapter to chapter. The plot is weak. And in the epilogue? Hermione really doesn't see the kids for 10 years? And she's still pining after Draco? Plus, why didn't Draco just Apparate away from his house when he had the chance, before anyone realized what had happened?

Thanks to all you who have made it possible for this story to be in the Top Tens. It was a very happy moment when I first saw my story on the list, and I love being able to go back and see it there now. Still. Yay!
Throughout the latter half of 2010, and the first half of 2011, I re-edited this story. The changes were mostly to fix stray (and annoying) grammar and spelling errors, but also to rework some plot points in an effort to stay truer to canon. I also updated the style; having written this story so long ago, my writing has definitely developed (and I would say gotten better), so I edited to reflect that. (I apologize for the errors that were in the story before all this editing. I found them immensely distressing when I reread my chapters. Heartbreaking, really.)
Big “thank yous” go to the three people who helped edit/nitpick the first edition of this novel: violagirl, fairiesandcream, and Omagus.

Great chapter, but just so ya know, William Goldman didn't abridge S. Morgenstern's story. There is no S. Morgenstern. William Goldman wrote the whole book by himself, both the modern part and part with Buttercup and Westley, and pretended it was an abridgement. lol.

Wow. That came out wrong.
What I meant to say is that usually, I'm a ship kind of girl, but your story has been doing such a good job of making this couple realistically possible without them being OOC.
Oh, and your visual images are amazing--like, when you give something going on inside a character a concrete image (like the latch closing inside Snape or the rope snapping inside Hermione, to name a few).

and i usually don't give praise like that lightly.
i loved loved loved all the different characters--it wasn't just the standard 'yay were griffindors!' bunch. and the plot was well developed throughout the entire thing, especially regarding the inter-house tensions.
i also adore the four main characters, and i honestly couldn't pick which one was my favorite.
i started this story yesterday and couldn't quit. i was hooked.
please please please write a sequel!
really--this is one of the best and most unique fanfictions ive ever read, and i will definitely always remember it.
