This is where I talk about myself is it? Hm...
Well I'm a huge Harry Potter fan (you never would have guessed huh?), I enjoy books, writing, music, dance (though I'm not very good at it).

I suppose I'm a bit of a sucker for romance... good romance, that is. Some of my favorite movies are not in English, but I like POTC, Titanic, Little Miss Sunshine (and other good comedy), and sometimes I get a sudden urge to watch scifi.

The Epic Tale of the Hogwarts Food-fight by Gin_Drinka

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: "Some mistakes are too much fun to make just once."

After Lily Evans, Head Girl of Hogwarts, starts a food-fight with James Potter, Head Boy of Hogwarts, they are both given detention for the rest of the year, and are assigned a 'detention journal', which the staff say will help to settle their 'overwhelming and disturbing differences'. We have come across Lily's journal; her take on why the whole affair ever started, her intriguing relationship with one ‘supreme git of the galaxy’, the extents to which she will go for revenge and where it will lead her...

"And if for some unknown reason you come across this, Potter, and the paragraph above does not manage to penetrate your unusually thick head and convince you of my stupendous dislike of you, I hope the following sentence helps: I HATE YOU!"

Hello! I've just started reading this fic and so far it's really amazing! I love how you mix silliness with subtle and sarcastic humor. The only thing I'd like to mention is that I doubt Lily would physically be bouncing in her seat. It just seems a bit OOC. Anyway great job, and I'm anxious to see what her plan of revenge will be!

Now normally I don't like the Ron/Luna pairing, but this was wonderful! It's so sweet, and really captured Ron's personality.

Author's Response: Thanks for your review. I don't really like Ron so I try to make him true to his character -- I'm glad it showed. =]

I have to say this is one of the best fanfic characterizations of Harry and Hermione's relationship that I've ever read. You've done a masterful job of bringing out the subtleties of everything that they have been through.

Along with the line about Ron's leaving and the coffee, one of my favorites was where Hermione tells Harry to stop staring. It reminded me so much of the young Hermione, always having to be the sensible one, etc. Obviously here they are much more mature, but for me this sort of connected them back to the kids we know from the books.  Lovely story!

Now this trick, it involves the other couple doesn't it?

Author's Response: The more I think about it, the more I like the way Harry and Hermione interact. Even with their deep friendship, it's not the kind of relationship I could ever see transitioning over smoothly to something 'more than friends', like so many close friendships could - yet they are more than friends, so there still can be a constant interesting tension there to play with.

That's an interesting way of phrasing things, I think - the way Harry and Hermione both react and how to connects back to when they were kids. The whole story is a bit of misdirection, I suppose that's where the heart of the trick is - the other couple are kind of a thread to follow, a light to light the way.

Let Me Be Asleep Forever by CrystalM

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Running ragged during his sixth year from the stress of following orders of wizards much darker and more ruthless than he for fear of death, Draco Malfoy trips right over Ginny Weasley, and finds something he never thought possible: A moment of peace.

You've got a wonderful style. The moment was executed quite nicely. I loved the progression through Draco's emotions and his thought process in writing the letter. That's difficult to capture properly, and you've done a good job. The end with Scorpius was, of course, very sweet, but personally, I thought it was slightly OOC. Perhaps it was just the use of "okay" as that's usually more of an American thing. Good story though :)
