MOMENTS OF BLISS by moonymaniac
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 1186]
Summary: Remus Lupin is a man with a tragic past, filled with pain, suffering and sorrow. But it is also a past filled with great adventure, true friendship and…love? Even though the odds were against him, Remus found happiness at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He had the Marauders, he was a prefect and his transformations were less horrible, thanks to his Animagi friends. What more could a teenage werewolf want? And how long could his happiness last? Remus and the Marauders prove that in the saddest of lives and darkest of times, there can still be moments of bliss.
Remus centric but with a lot of the other Marauders. This story is a romance, but has almost as much general Marauder era background and side story as romance.
Pre-HBP and DH, so some things from DH will be disregarded, as the warning indicates, but some Spoilers will be incorporated.
Yay, finally I review a good story. Really like it, one minor point tho...
A pint of mead? Holy biscuit! Do you know how smashed you'd get if you drank a pint of mead? Mead is honey wine, very sweet and really potent.
Author's Response: :) Thank you, skippy agogo. I\'m not sure if that means you never review or that you haven\'t come across many that you found to your liking, but I take it as a great compliment, either way. ;) Uh-oh, have I messed up my Britishisms? I\'m not a drinker of beer and I thought mead was similar to it and ale. *blush* Now, I love a nice wine. *tries to imagine a pint of wine rather than standard wine glass* *blushes again*. No wonder Lindi started giggling! LOL Does it help that they only got one each for the entire evening? *dies* Thanks for the information. I\'ll see about that, and thanks for reviewing. I really appreciate it. :)
Very well done. Find myself wishing the story would never end.... Unfortunately that cannot be...
Author's Response: :) Thank you, skippy agogo. I\'m really happy to know you are enjoying the story. Never end...LOLOL You must be new to MoB or you might actually believe there is a chance that it never will. ;*) I think the few who have stuck with me for the almost 2 years *gasp* I\'ve been posting this \"little tale\" probably think it never will end. But it will! Hopefully it won\'t take as long as it has taken JKR to finally get to HP and the DH, but there will be an end. LOL *is determined* So, I better get to writing ch 44. Thank you again. :)
The Broken Soul by silverfox
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 278]
Summary: Dumbledore is dead and Harry is left alone… or is he? An unexpected ally appears to help Harry in his quest to defeat Voldemort. But Harry is running out of time and Voldemort is pressing down hard. He’s determined to get rid of his last remaining obstacle, Harry Potter. Can Harry find all the Horcruxes before it is too late, even with a new ally? The story will include romance, adventure, mystery, murder, betrayal and much more. There will be also some unexpected twists. This story has been abandoned. See the finished version at HPFF!
Way ooc for Harry to give a damn about his rellies. Dudders, meh, who cares... I doubt that voldy would kill the durselys until after harry was gone, but that's me.
Author's Response: To each their own. I happen to disagree.
Friendship, Love, and Pranks: The Story of the Marauders by Padfoot is MINE
Rated: Professors [Reviews - 1181]
Summary: Chapter Thirty-Eight in Queue!
They say someday your life will flash before your eyes...
The Marauders. The name alone strikes fear into the hearts of teachers and makes girls swoon. Watch as Sirius, who has always kept his emotions locked up in a box, finally finds the girl that has its key; as James masterminds everything, except how to win over the girl of his dreams; as Remus finds love, but learns it's just as hard to keep it going, and as Peter tries to prove he's just as good as the other four, no matter what he has to do. They're unstoppable, and it's safe to say that once they're gone, Hogwarts will never be the same again.
...let's make ours worth watching.
Like the re-write, one minor thing tho... You have mentioned the past 'shag' that sirius has had with another girl, and claimed that it would or could be a problem. It should not be. Only the most insecure would be threatened by what their b or gfriends have done with their past relationships. A drunken shag that you can't remember clearly is of no consequence whatsoever (as long as you get out of it without an std or a pregnacy.) except of course to remind one that you should never drink so much that you can't remember what you did when screwing around with someone else...
Author's Response: As a matter of fact, chapter twelve (the one you\'re talking about) is at the top of my \'to edit\' list for exactly this reason. I agree with you, the reason I had Sirius react the way he does was mostly because I was getting ahead of myself a bit. If you\'re only on chapter fifteen, you don\'t know why, but it does kind of become an issue, and not only because it happened, which isn\'t an abnormal or blameworthy thing at all.
Wow, now I REALLY want to edit this chapter. The last few sentences have been nagging at me as well. If you\'d like, check back on chapter twelve by next week, and (hopefully I\'ll have finished it) let me know if it\'s better. If you\'d like to, of course, but you don\'t have to.
Of Cauldrons and Comrades by LuthAn
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 71]
Summary: "Albus Dumbledore aimed his wand at the Pensieve’s liquid depths and twitched his arm upwards. Ten ghostly figures slowly emerged from the liquid, their bodies spun out of the translucent matter. The Gryffindor Class of 1978..."
We all know how this tale ends, but how does it begin? Did Lily hate James from Day One? Did James fall head over heels the moment he first laid eyes on Lily? How did Remus feel about the whole thing? Who let Peter slip through the cracks? And what exactly happens when Sirius gets hold of some Time-Release Dungbombs?
The Marauders' years at Hogwarts were marked by internal demons, external tensions, and whispers from the shadows growing steadily louder. By intertwining lives in the midst of danger. By powerful love and a whole lot of laughter. This is their story, a tale of cauldrons and comrades.
Formatting! I like the story, your writing is good. But on this chappie you should have hit the return key a bit more often. You have done a very good job of writing a human peter. Almost hard to believe that the person you've written about becomes such a slimy worm... Keep up the good work.
Author's Response: Ahh! You\'re so right! I didn\'t even notice that. I will fix it right away!
Thanks for the review!
Author's Response: Edit: It should be fixed now. Thanks so much for pointing that out!
A Different Sort of Peace by Vindictus Viridian
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 245]
Summary: At some point there had to have been a choice.
The logical place to begin a story is at the point of the first decision. But what if there were no decisions? What if, at every point, there was only one possible act? What if the story simply cannot be told?
Completed (though not posted) entirely pre-DH.
Devil's advocate stories are quite the risky thing to write. Your choice of defence advocates is original, not someone I'd expect to see defending Snape. I'd write a longer review, but don't want to risk having to apologise in August.
Author's Response: I just don\'t even want to think about August. Post DH. Eeek. Thanks for the review!
Harry Potter...Housewife? by AurorGirl101
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 233]
Summary: The War has been over for five years, and life is happy. When Harry and Ginny Potter find out they are going to be parents for the first time, they have no idea what to do.
But when an incident occurs, Ginny is ordered to be on bed-rest for the rest of her pregnancy. Humor ensues as Ginny tries to direct Harry through the daily duties as a housewife.
AurorGirl101 has left Mugglenet Fanfiction. Please see my author page for more info.
Cute & fluffy. The only major flaw is that Harry did learn how to clean while at the Dursley's, so you might want to have the conflicts be about how harry isn't cleaning the way Molly did...
Author's Response: Thanks for that....My beta and I had a talk about it, and decided it\'s okay. Thanks though!
Harry Potter and the Veil of Death by fluorite
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 29]
Summary: It's Harry's seventh year, and the war has begun.
Good start, strange thing tho... I clicked on the story because the word count was 1015 for 16 chapters, honestly I was wondering how someone could write that many short chappies... Good to see that it's some flaw in the list and not ultra short chapters.
An Interview with Rita Skeeter by Potter_Crazy2987
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 9]

Clearing the Brush by Muguet au Bois

Summary: The Malfoy family tree needs a little pruning
Well done. Although Narcy is a bit old to have another kid isn't she?
Author's Response: Thanks!
Eh, she\'s only around 40ish; as a witch, she\'d still be plenty fertile.

Kickin' It at the Top by Soap
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 820]
Summary: A Marauder-era fic - this story takes a look at all the characters we've come to love (and hate), as well as an OC or two thrown in for good measure. Follow the Marauders through seven years at Hogwart's, with appearances from the infamous Black sisters, Lucius Malfoy, Regulus Black, and of course the one and only Severus Snape.
There are a bunch of pairings in this story (although romance is not necessarily the central theme) to include James/Lily, Lucius/Narcissa, a splash of Lucius/Bella and unrequited Snape/Lily, and finally, plenty of Sirius/OC. Enjoy!
Over 120,000 reads! Wow! Thanks everyone!
She lay the side of her head on his shoulder.
(snip)
Harry gave her a sympathetic frown and walked over to her, placing a reassuring hand around her shoulders
Hermy must have quite the long neck for harry to have to walk over to her after she puts her head on his shoulder. Or were you trying to say that herms was putting her head on Ron's shoulder? (grin)
Author's Response: lol yea I ought to fix that.... =) Thanks for reviewing!

To keep you all updated with my progress, have writer's block currently, but it hardly ever lasts long, and I'm on chapter 30
Thanks to all my lovely reviewers!
Good start, I'm way too old to read this stuff tho.... The title at first reminded me of a song sung by Bob Hope (my grandparents were big fans...)
Author's Response: Yeah...actually the titlee doesn\'t come into play until much, much later on.
Thanks for reading it...no one\'s ever too old for Harry Potter!!

First place in the 2007 Autumn Challenge’s New Beginnings prompt.
Nominated for Best History/Mystery in the 2008 QSQs!
Canon compliant with all seven books, however, not compliant with all interviews given by JKR.
Love it. Reactions to the letters and the replies sent off are very well done. Just the right type of tale.
Author's Response: Thank you very much!
Very well done. Not sure I like pansy as draco's wife, but one can't always get what one wants... Unless they write their own story. Looking forward to the reaction from the parents.
Author's Response: Well, if I were Draco, Pansy wouldn\'t have been my first choice either. Then again, if I were Draco, I\'d have much bigger problems than that. ;) Thanks for the review!
Well written, well developed characters, funny and moving along nicely. Really enjoyed the description of malfoy sr.'s reaction to his grandson's sorting. Congrats for not repeating the howler scene that's been overdone in every marauder tale. Looking forward to more.
Severus Snape and the Sorting Hat by Sariana

Well reasoned.
