Hi Nuw,

Poor Harry! You've got him trying to teach DADA, when all the students want is to hear about his exploits. He has to contend with his twins. And finally, he has to get to know his wife - and Ginny isn't helping matters any. Of all the well-written sentences and exchanges, this one really caught me:

Her eyes suddenly widened in shock, and she covered her mouth with her hands.

What is it? Harry asked through a mouthful of potatoes.

I sounded eerily like my mother, Ginny whispered. I swore Id never make a huge deal out of O.W.L.s, and look at me. Im going to be just as hard on them as Mum was on us.

That is such a universal parental experience, and you captured it perfectly. Has it happened to you yet? If not, it will!

Again, I'm very interested in how you're examining this very unusual relationship and very happy with the job you're doing.

Hope your summer has calmed down some. Best, Jim

Author's Response: Thanks very much, Jim. I\'m glad you liked Ginny\'s little epiphany there (yes, I have had a couple of moments like that myself). You really nailed it by calling Harry and Ginny\'s relationship \"unusual.\" We\'ll examine it a bit more in the next chapter.

Hi Nuw,

Another excellent chapter! As usual, it flowed well, but there was one problem. It was too short, so I and your other loyal readers are left wanting more.

Ginny is just as spunky as ever, and at least now Harry knows he was married before. Too bad about the ring, though. Before you wrote that it was stolen, I thought maybe it would have engraving that showed Ginny's name. Now he'll have to back back to the source of his discontent -- Ginny, that is -- in order to continue his investigation. Something tells me you're not going to make it that easy.

Congratulations on your newborn daughter and finally finishing your finals. Hope the grades come out where you want them.

Best, Jim

Author's Response: Thanks very much, Jim. I\'m glad you liked the chapter and the way I handled Ginny\'s personality. Harry, being Harry, will never accept something as straightforward as what he\'s learned so far, as you\'ll see in the next chapter. He will, however, have to go back to the Burrow eventually, just as you\'ve predicted. The next chapter is substantially longer (almost 5000 words), so hopefully it will do a better job of holding you over. ;-)

Hi, Nuw! We're getting closer to magic time with the "twin" leads, in OStC, no less. This will be fun! I wonder if Harry's detective work will lead him to the Burrow and a beautiful red haired spinster? That would be too easy, and definitely not your way.

Looking forward to the next chapter. Hope all is well with uni classes and upcoming kids -- both have got to be close by now.

Author's Response: Thanks very much! Would you be disappointed if Harry met Ginny in the next chapter? Because there\'s a pretty good chance of that happening if she still lives near the village and the redheaded teenagers are indeed Weasleys. But I\'m getting ahead of myself. I still need to finish up the next chapter and maybe add some more detail to it because I\'m now thinking it\'s too short. Hopefully I\'ll be able to submit it in the next couple of days, though.

Another great chapter, Nuw, and very well timed, coming on DH Eve!

You are doing a wonderful job exploring the concerns and dilemmas Harry is facing with the kids (mainly Brian) and with his wife. Again, you've really captured the dichotomy of his and Ginny's situation. What I also like is how you are showing signs of both relations improving -- Harry's fluttering stomach; Ginny's continuing patience and flirting; Brian not glaring for once. Great idea of Harry's (yours, of course) to have that running battle with Brian -- a constructive way for the boy to vent his anger. Harry's openness with the other related students was very good to see. The kids appreciated it, and it helped eliminate any concerns they may have had.

I could go on and on, but suffice it say, this was again a very enjoyable chapter!

Enjoy DH. See you on the other side!

Best, Jim

Author's Response: Thanks, Jim. I feel kind of bad because I\'ve neglected this story since uploading this chapter. Having a chapter of Magical Myths disappear on me was really demoralizing. On the bright side, I\'m really glad you\'re enjoying the slowly changing relationships between the characters. Oh, and I really enjoyed DH. I hope you did as well.

The Pursuit by MagEd
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 375]

Summary: Harry and Ginny are happily married with a baby on the way. When they manipulate Ron and Hermione into both meeting them for lunch, the last thing anyone expected was for Harry and Ginny to be kidnapped.

Suddenly Ron and Hermione are left with nothing more than a note and the realization it’s up to them to follow the clues and rescue the couple they both love and adore. If only the clues weren't nonsense. If only they knew who could possibly have taken Harry and Ginny. If only they didn’t hate each other. If only they hadn’t once loved each other.

Life just got a whole lot more complicated for Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

Hey MagEd, Welcome back! I've missed you and your wonderful stories. This one hooks your readers and pulls them along like a portkey. Great start!!!

You absolutely captured the emotions of Hermione and Ron taken to the enth degree. Boy, those two really know how to push each other's buttons, and you're the puppet master! I'm still numb from their confrontation, then the disappearance. I have an idea what happened but won't say, but I reserve the right to say, "I told you so," if it turns out I'm right. Fair enough?

The note is wonderfully constructed. I thought, at first, it was ee cummings (The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock, if I can recall high school English!). Then, of course, it went ten different directions, with pie in the sky.

Is this story your version of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boy (singular, since it's only Ron), as they start sleuthing for H and the extremely preggers G? Hilarious descriptions of her "condition," by the way.

If I may ask one teensy, weensy favor? Give us the ending chapter for Uncle Fred. Soon. Please? An update on Chasing Secrets also would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, another big favor, please: I've finally written an HP story. It's up on SIYE, but MuggleNet is still looking at it. Title is He Didn't Stand A Chance by The Seeker. I'd really love for you to take a look and leave a review.

Many thanks, Jim

Author's Response: Thank you! Alright then, if what you think will happen happens, feel free to declare it loud and proud :) In a way it is my version of Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy; now hopefully I won\'t screw up my first real mystery story! As for Uncle Fred, I\'m working on it! I actually submitted this first chapter to the queue a while ago, and it only just now got accepted. Don\'t worry, I haven\'t abandoned any of my other fics! And I\'ll have to give your fic a glance. . . .

Yes, ma'am! I'm reviewing! Hey, Maggie, how you doing? It's so nice to see this new chapter. I don't want to say it was worth the wait (even though it is), because I really don't want you take this long again.

I don't really think Hermione is OOC. Sure, in the context of her being a Hogwarts student, she may be. But she's an adult now, and in this story, a lot has transpired between she and Ronald.

Instead, I think this is a rather brilliant depiction of a highly conflicted Hermione. My guess is she found herself without Ron and latched onto the first male who showed interest. Bernard, of course, is absolutely disgusting -- on the sleeze level of Dick in your wonderful Uncle Fred story. There's no way our Hermione would even consider Bernard under normal circumstances. So, now we just need to have Hermione work out her feelings, acknowledge she's still in love with Ron, and simultaneously find Harry and Ginny.

I think I know who took H and G, but I won't say or ask, 'cause I don't want to spoil it for myself. I love what you're doing and hope to see an update soon.

How many chapters do you anticipate for this? Oh, congrats on your DSTA nomination on that other site that I prefer! Best, Jim

Author's Response: I always love your reviews! I know it took me forever on this, but I plan on updating faster this time around! (I know I said that last time, but this time I really mean it :b) Hermione certainly is conflicted, and a few key things to her choices have yet to be revealed -- you\'ll see! Right now, I plan on the story being around seven or eight chapters. I often say that though, and then find that certain passages take longer to write than I anticipated and it ends up being a few chapters longer (as was the case with Uncle Fred) Well, we\'ll see. Thanks again!

Hey, Maggie,

It's great to see you update this one. I have to admit I did think the smudge was from Lynn's lipstick.

Bernard is a Hermione clone, but without any of the compensating qualities. It's plain to see at this point that he is using Hermione. I'm sure we'll learn the reasons soon.

The best part, of course, is the myriad ways you have Ron and Hermione torturing each other. You well know that only people you care about can push your buttons. And boy, do you have them pushing each other's buttons! When they finally figure out the passion is still smoldering just below the surface, watch out! The resulting inferno will light the London sky. Of course, when Hermione figures out Bernie is stringing her along that reaction will be something to see.

All in all, another involving story from the magical pen of MagEd! Best, Jim

Author's Response: Thanks very much, I always love your reviews! It was good to update this one, hopefully it won\'t take nearly so long to get a third chapter up. As for the tension between Ron and Hermione, I\'m glad you like it, because I just love to write it. J.K. Rowling created such amazing characters in them, and it makes writing about them so much fun! Thanks again!

Hi Pandafan, It's great to see something from you! Really cute, well written, and definitely Tonks. Loved how you had her eye color changing each time she hiccupped! It will be fun to see where you take us for the other segments.

Anything happening on Healing Harry?

Author's Response: I am currently working on chapter 17 of Healing Harry. The plan is to get it finished up before July 21st, but I also have to get Tonks finished by July 7th... so expect a lot from me in the next few weeks!

Wow! What a highly charged chapter. Really liked how Harry got sixteen year's of horrid treatment out of his system, when he yelled at Vernon at the end. Very good juxtaposition of the storm outside reflecting Vernon's increasing irritation at the end of the story.

One possible piece of con crit: hostile, if you're referring to inexpensive lodges where young people stay, is hostel, I think.

Regardless, this was another exciting chapter. Thanks, Pandafan81!

If you get the chance, please visit my story, He Didn't Stand A Chance by The Seeker. Ch 1 is up; ch 2 is with the mods.
I'd love to get your feedback. Thanks!
