Winner of the 2008 Quick Silver Quills Award for Best General Story.
The first book in the Alexandra Quick series.
The war against Voldemort never reached America, but all is not well there. When 11-year-old Alexandra Quick learns she is a witch, she is plunged into a world of prejudices, intrigue, and danger. Who wants Alexandra dead, and why?
This story is canon-compliant with the Harry Potter universe, but the characters and settings are all original. I've put a lot of work into envisioning a world as detailed as the original series; I hope you enjoy it.
awwwww, so sad that this part of the story has ended. i loved it though, i wander what she will find to do during the summer holidays, and when will her dad get in contact with her? hmmm.....
well, it's been 'bloody brilliant' to use ron's words and i cant wait to be (very very, tres and sehr soon) reading the next....errrrm grade(?)
well done anyhow!!
i think Alexandra will deffinately have a change of heart towards Miss Grimm especially after that heroic display! what good timing Grimm had.
and wow, that fidelius charm certainly explains a lot!
hmmm...makes me think he got the wrong bracelet if he was shot and not her. i hope miss grimm can survive the bullet, and i certainly hope Anna is ok.
im guessin we meet the govenor general soon?
and will Alex's father come looking for her soon because she knows her purpose now and needs to make sure she keeps the secret???
also what information does Alex have about the Thorn circle? only what she has read in books, so she must find something else out that is the 'key' to the fidelius charm???
oh its all so confusing, but beautifully written! your action scenes are brilliant!
His fears? Flying...his own wand...fitting in...sticking out! His best friends? A passionate fire-breathing cousin, and a cool, aloof Death Eater's son. His destiny? Anything but ordinary!
Join Albus as he experiances his first year at Hogwarts and begins the journey out from under his father's collosal shadow, if he can survive it of course!
Meet the new Tenacious Trio, Albus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy, and Rose Weasley
wow! deffinately sue proof! that and the previous chapters are amazing! i love it! it is a favourite too =D
Glad you are enjoying it...please tell your friends my reader ship has gone way down here recently.
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
Every student plans on making their final year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry the most memorable one ever. Eight in particular want to make those minutes really count. Except, they each have a different idea of how to go about doing it.
James Potter would like to waltz into Lily Evans’s life and throw it completely off course. Julie McGuire didn’t exactly plan on rescuing Remus Lupin, but now that she has, why not just go with it? Marlene McKinnon should have know what she got herself into when she kissed Sirius Black the first time, but that boy has a way of knocking her senseless. Emmeline Vance had planned to just sit back and watch it all happen, until Roxanna Louchester, her ex-friend, barged in and turned everything upside down.
Suddenly they’ve gone from only wanting the most memorable year, to achieving it. It’s a year of love and lust. It’s a year of tears and fights. It’s a year of finding yourself. It’s a year of learning to lose. It’s a year that none of them are likely to forget.
absolutely loved it, i like the fast pace it moves at and the characters, although the last bit confused me a bit and im also very intrigued as to why Roxie is now an enemy...what happened? and someone find Remus!
anyway, ace first chapter and i cant wait for more.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing! -laughs evilly- You\'ll have to wait and see what happens, I\'m not saying anything. xo I\'m glad you like it so much. :D xo Mere
wow! i'm hooked, this is certainly a keeper and if my account would work, i would favourite it, but i cant unfortunately, so i will simply have to keep my eyes peeled for it!
i love the way that you didnt confirm who she was straight away even if you did give clues (who else would have the power to kill death eaters at will?) i also love how you gave the anonymous book, showing that someone has faith in her and knows her obvious struggle.
im also very intrigued....her love of Harry Potter...hmmm, is that because he brought the downfall of her captor and father? or is it actual love as in i-want-to-marry-you love???
well, i loved it and i cant wait for the next speedy (hint hint) chapter ;)
Author's Response: Thanks so much. I was a little worried about how people would react so your review means so much to me. I so have chapter two done so I\'ll submit it soon. Your question about Harry will be answered soon. But how soon? That is the question. ;) Thanks Again.
oh wow. it was beautiful, and i love how you didnt go OOC or AU with it, twas brill! i want to see more haha, sirius and lily...*sighs*
Author's Response: Thank you! I had no idea what to write at first, I\'d never tried my hand at Sirius/Lily before . . . thankfully, inspiration struck eventually. :)
oh wow i loved it haha, ive actually been listening to that song practically all day haha. fab!
Author's Response: Thank you!
Growing up with two stepfamilies, Sally-Anne Perks has all the usual family problems in triplicate. Now her stepmother wants to prevent her attending the Yule Ball. Will this ruin Sally-Anne’s chances of winning her prince? And who has stolen her magic shoe?
This is a response to a challenge to retell a traditional fairy tale with a Hogwarts setting. You might consider that I put a twist in the ending… or you might not.
oh god, it was brilliantly horrible. I know how she feels aswell, keep it up its great!
ps loved the yellow hair accessories
Author's Response: Dear Cocomaloco, I think I had better caution you that the nasty family dynamics will only become worse. If this is a touchy issue for you, you will need the courage of Godric Gryffindor to keep reading. Take a yellow cyber-ribbon from me! Love, GhV
OMG, you do realise Im crying, I mean, have you been spying on my family or something?!?! God i HATE step-mothers and step-sisters and dads. they cheat and steal and lie through their teeth. you have written an extroadinarilly realistic story and its a favourite, keep it up because i just know Sally-Anne is going to get back at her dad's family and realise that her dad has changed and is just as bad as her step-mum. the sooner the better.
keep it up!
Author's Response: Dear Cocomaloco, I am so sorry to hear that Sally-Anne is a girl like you. I haven't been spying on your family, but I have been spying on human nature. However, I hoped that my story had a fairy-tale awfulness that would never quite be rivalled in real life. I don't necessarily hate stepmothers, but I definitely hate cheating, stealing, lying and adultery. I have a son of your age and I would be so furious if someone like Cressida entered his life. Anyway, I have now posted a new chapter, and it includes a few happier events. Thanks for all your support for my writing, GhV
I absolutely loved that - and I really really want to read the next bit - and the bit after that....and the bit after that!
In other words....please continue!!!
