I fell in love with Jo Rowlings world years ago, when I was 11. The first book I read was Chamber of Secrets, mostly because I didn't know Sorcerer's Stone existed. I love everything about the books, although...I've always hated Pettigrew. If his character wasn't such an important part of the storyline I think Jo would have been better off without him.
I do love the fanfics though, and much as I will deny it, I'm completely enamored with any sort of romance fics, especially Dramione and James/Lily. I appreciate Jo pairing up Ron and Hermione, but in my head Draco fits her better. I'm strange like that.
I never thought, when I first joined the site, that I'd ever write any sort of fic. I've always loved to write, but finishing a story isn't one of my strong points.
Summary: It is their final year at Hogwarts, and Hermione and Draco start it off burdened by confusion and mixed feelings after catching a glimpse of the near future. This is a fic about the two students as they deal with their fate and the knowledge of what is to come with the aid of a magical window into the future. (Rated PG-13 for mild violence in later chapters)
Chapter 19 has been posted. This fic is finished. Thank you to everyone who read and reviewed!
This fic is now available in Chinese, thanks to Levy. Link: http://post.baidu.com/f?kz=261897233
Well well well...Draco and Hermione...It's so unnatural....but yet...I like it...
I always knew those SPEW badges would be good for something in the end...Leave it to Peeves to find a use...:P
Aww...is it over already? *sniffles*....
Summary: Voldemort returns to finish what he's started in the trio's final year at Hogwarts. Along with the hysteria that accompanies this event, Hermione struggles with Harry's odd behavior, the threat of war, and her growing feelings towards someone unexpected.
Oh! Poor Ron...I've always liked the idea of he and Hermione as a couple, but...
I also like the way you've paired Hermione with Lupin. I haven't seen many fics like this that I've liked--a lot of authors seem to rush things so fast that it doesn't make sense as to why they're attracted to each other. You've made it real though. It seems as if Hermione and Remus are both holding something back, like they're afraid of what'll actually happen should they have feelings for each other. Maybe it's just me, but that's the feeling I get at times.
But yes, this is brilliant. I can't wait to finish it. :)
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing. Your feeling is right on the nose, because that was the ambience I was trying to capture by limiting Hermione\'s and Remus\'s affections. Thanks again for the kind words, it means a lot.
An unlikely Slytherin mulls over his unwanted affection for an unlikely Gryffindor.
He sighed, tired of this never-ending battle within himself. Everything he had ever been taught said to ignore her, to lock all good thoughts about her in a Gringotts vault and throw away the key. But she did things to him… made him forget who he was and how he had been raised… made him forget his House and his allegiance to the wizard she had dedicated her life to fight against.
Oh gosh...I wasn't expecting Snape...I was torn between Blaise and Malfoy, but that was definitely a nice twist. Not something you see all the time, but that makes it that much better.
Summary: For the rest of the Ministry, the interdepartmental challenge was merely a failed attempt to restore trust between workers. But for Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger, it was the catalyst for an unexpected relationship built on passionate letters, concealed identities, and secret meetings – and the beginning of an end that neither of them could ever have imagined possible, not even in their wildest dreams.
Post-war. Based somewhat on the story of the Phantom of the Opera. Also contains R/Hr, so don't read if you can't stomach that ship.
Status: Complete. Thanks for reading, everyone!
No...Definitely not the happiest of endings, but in a way...I guess I almost expected it. I think Hermione needed the wake-up call to realize just how much she needed Ron, loved Ron. And if seeing Draco flicker back to his usual angry self was what it took, well, more power to you for writing it that way.
I still love this story, no matter how it ends. You have a wonderful way with words and I applaud you.
Harry's come back to the Burrow two days before the wedding nuptials begin, can Ginny and Harry be friends?
Ginny's thinking, Hermione's giving advice and Harry?
Well he's being his usual I-have-no-clue self.
Watch what happens as Ginny and Harry meet and see if their relationship will be rekindled.
Excerpt from story:
"He smiled slightly, his other hand softly wiping her tears away. She hiccoughed and his smile grew wider. He bent forward, moving her closer to him, feeling her shake lightly. His eyes were on her rosy lips but he tore them away, he couldn’t do that to her."
I do believe that Harry and Ginny are one of the sweetest couples, and if Ms. Rowling doesn't fix it so that they end up together again at some point, I'm going to be extremely upset. This is wonderful writing though, and I love the song you use. It's so fitting...so perfect...'Tis wonderful.
Well--first chapter, and you've already gotten me hooked. That's a rarity for me: I do realize that a lot of times the first chapters are just so authors can set things up properly, so we readers aren't confused, but honestly...quite often they're just boring and make me want to read the entire story even less....Not this one though.
I absolutely adore Ron and Hermione as a 'thing', but I also love the idea of Draco and Hermione--they're such opposites it's almost too easy to see them as a couple. Hermione's innocence balances out Draco's darkness, or something to that effect...
But yes, anyway, this is lovely.
Author's Response: Hah, its weird that you say that because in the first chapter I\'ve set up all the regular Dramione cliches! Head Boy and Girl, share a dorm, he\'s mean yet hot, and she\'s all curious.. lol; gotta start somewhere! See, I\'ve always pictured Ron and Hermione together. They cant NOT be together; they just are. Hermione and Draco, though, you\';re totally right. They balance out and thats why I love them. Kinda rambled, but whatevs! Im glad you liked tje story! Darkwing731
So...Malfoy DOES have feelings...That's extremely reassuring; it proves he's still human.
I'm still half-rooting for Hermione to just up and smack him. I don't think I'd blame her if she did.
Author's Response: Lol he\'s such a stoic buttface in this story, excluding a handful of chapters. She\'ll beat him up, dont worry, lol! Darkwing731
Oh. My. Goodness.
I don't even know what to say. I'm extremely glad your first chapter got my attention, otherwise I probably never would have read any of the other chapters.
Your writing is absolutely excellent. Brilliant, actually, and I'm not just saying that to be nice. It truly is wonderful. Your imagery, your descriptions of feelings, of thoughts...they're so real. It's no wonder Hermione says that she's going crazy--Malfoy's rage would be enough to drive anyone to the brink.
I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this story...
Author's Response: *waves hand modestly* Thanks so much! I really enjoy this story a lot and I try to write the best with this one; obviously you guys liked it! Im really happy that you enjoy this, and thanks; imagery was always sort of easy for me and Im glad that helped the story. Thanks so much for your awesome reviews! Darkwing731
Summary: Hermione and Draco - an unlikely pair - go from intense dislike to true love in this story.
I love that little bit of Luna right there at the end. "Ravenclaw?” Luna commented absently. “Oh, how lovely.” How fitting. :^D
This has been a wonderful fic. Not many people can pull off a Hermione/Draco ship without it sinking miserably, but you managed. I loved it...
Summary: Damaged by the war, Harry flees everything that used to be familiar to him and instead roams the night, haunted by unsolvable questions -- what truly killed Voldemort? And what lurks in the Forbidden Forest, where the trees seem alive?
As his investigation progresses, everything Harry has learnt is called into question as he discovers the most jealously kept secret of the Wizarding civilisation.
Oh. My. Wow.
I just discovered this fic about and hour and a half ago, and I haven't been able to stop reading since.
This is excellent. Superb. Wonderful. Pick an adjective. I love the way you're portraying Harry--his emotions, his thoughts, it's all so real. I also love how original your plotline is--I see so many fics that are just different versions of the exact same thing that it's quite refreshing to find something that doesn't fit the mold.
I'm looking forward to reading more. :)
Author's Response: \"Pick an adjective...\" Can I have all of them? :P Thank you very much for the review, I\'m happy you like the story and the writing style. You\'ll get more to read as soon as the second part of the chapter is vaildated!

Wait, it's over?
Oh gosh, I loved it. Every sentence of it.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your words. =D
Summary: PreHP as seen through the eyes of a new student. Alicia had always been told that she was special but now her life was to take a drastic turn. Orphaned, in a new school and different from the others, can she find solace with Severus and Remus ?
A/N - The rating was changed due to the content of the Epilogue. Warning to sensitive readers.
Oh my....only the first chapter and I'm already intrigued. Your writing is wonderful--everything flows together so smoothly...I love it!
Author's Response: Welcome to the new kid on the block! Thank you for the compliment. I hope I can keep you interested. This is Part 1 of 3, so keep reading. Dani
Summary: Originally written for the HP_Remnants challenge community on LiveJournal, given the prompt "and the picture frames are staring down, and the ringing of this empty sound, is deafening and keeping you from sleep", a lyric from the Dashboard Confessionals song "This Brilliant Dance".
Although this is not a song-fic by any means, I did listen to it several times while writing the fic.
After the war, you have to begin picking up the pieces.
I wondered if that would end up being Snape...guess I was right.
I love it--most superb!
Summary: Voldemort's rising reign of terror, NEWTs, death attempts, a Headship, a tangled affair with James Potter, hilarity, grief, love, secrecy, maddness... it's almost hard to believe that I've survived to graduate. I am Lily Evans, and this is my 7th year.
Oh. My. Gosh.
I'm in love with this story. I love how in-depth you've gotten with all the characters. I admit, James and Lily are by far my favorite people to both read and write about, but....wow....just wow...
You've got an amazing amount of talent. I look forward to reading the res of this. :)
Summary: It's seven years after The War and Hermione Granger, the last whole member of the Golden Trio, is making her way through life as best she can. Then, a visitor from her past arrives, setting into motion a chain of events that would bring her closer to a man she never expected and a horror she had already experienced.
Through time and will-power, Hermione forced herself to forget the painful memories of her past. Could one man make her want to remember?
Ohhhh...too bad he hightailed it out of there before Hermione had a chance to think...I would have applauded her if she'd slapped him..
Author's Response: Given more time, I think she would have! ;-)
No no no!
Please tell me you're kidding!
Draco, honestly. You've got some old-wife-saving to do. Right now.
Author's Response: Hahaha, wish I could say I was joking. But alas! You have to wait for the next chapter! Thanks for your support!
Summary: It had been two years since the final battle.. two years since Hermione Granger was thought to be dead my the wizardng world.. Thus, being 'shocked' would be an understatement when Severus came across a Miss Hermy in a remote Welsh village, whose unmistakanable brown hair hasn't change one bit..
Whoa...Talk about a head trip. Two years with nothing, and then Snape?

Your title was what first drew me in to this fic, but now that I've read it, it's definitely not the only thing.
This is excellent--I love the storyline, and your writing is fabulous. I can't help but feel sorry for both Harrys...Waking up to a world that's so different from what you know...I'd cry...
But yes...please keep updating--you've gotten me hooked! :^D
