Summary: Sequel to "The Long Wait." It's been thirteen years. The kids are in school, Severus and Hermione are teaching, and all is good, or so they believe.
I do not know if anybody reads reviews on 2 year old stories. I have read all Ancientgirls stuff and her Osiris and Crookshanks are my favourite chacters. Long may they cause trouble!
Author's Response: They read them if they still get alerts. Thank you for taking the time to review this. I\'m happy that you enjoyed Osiris and Crookshanks. I haven\'t revisted them in a long time. I really don\'t post on here anymore though. I think The Severus Doll was the last story I posted here. I post mainly on The Petulant Poetess. If you are a big fan of fanfiction you should try that site. There are a lot of wonderful authors there.
Summary: Summary : The sequel to Daughter of Light. Maeve has a very bad end to her honeymoon as things come to light about Severus that astound her. Why is her husband so keen to keep Draco Malfoy alive at all costs and can she really get over her loathing of Narcissa Malfoy to work together to save both Severus and Draco from the fate that Voldemort would like to inflict on them? Why is Harry so furtive and will Neville save the day when Maeve’s necklace is returned to her by her father. Oh, and our favourite bad-boy Auror is back!
There has been rather a long break in the writing of the story due to work commitments, but I'm back on the case and hoping to get it finished - if there's anyone left still reading!! :-)
I last read this story when it was stalled at chapter 35. I just checked up on a whim and find you are writing again. Wonderful. Keep up the good work.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to review - it's very encouraging that someone is still reading after such a long gap. I'm quite determined to finish this story - the end is so long overdue.
Hello world! What terrible things have happened to make you stop updating this story???? Give us a clue..
Good update. Thanks for the excellent read.
Why is this story dead? It and its predecessor where brilliant and I have waited ages to see if it will ever be updated. I am in deep despair!
Summary: Since the tragedy at the Astronomy Tower, Harry has become an even more formidable wizard, but a shocking revelation may mean the difference between life and death for The Boy Who Lived. It is the final stage of Harry's quest to destroy Lord Voldemort - can he save the Wizarding World and those he loves from the treachery of the Dark Lord... and also save himself? [Action takes place in media res towards the end of Harry's Seventh Year at Hogwarts (Post-HBP).]
That was a totally awe inspiring piece of writing. Action, relationships, plot, happiness, sadness. Brilliant!
Summary: HBP Spoilers! Set immediately after the end of HBP, Severus Snape begins to explain exactly whose side he's on and what the stakes are in the coming battle. What is the curse of Arachne and how did it lead him to this point? Obsession, betrayal and a quest for redemption are all part of this historical account of Snape's life since coming to Hogwarts.
Thanks so much to my outstanding Betas: Orlaith, CCCC and Bobin221!
I come back to this story every night to see the next chapter, so get on with it before I die of old age! (61 next birthday and a grandfather)
My take on how events may pan out in book seven. Spoilers from all previous HP books.
The events of the previous year have brought home to Harry the realization of what has to be done, and the knowledge that it must be done alone. Now as he sets off on his final quest, making new acquaintances along the way, he must bring all his knowledge and skill to bear in his effort to destroy Lord Voldemort. But will it be enough, or is there something that he has missed which might prove to be his undoing?
This is a really excellent story with a good plot, nail biting development and a minimum of fluff. Cannot wait for the next chapter.
Author's Response: Glad you like it. Hope the rest of the story lives up to your expectations. I should have the next chapter up shortly.
Summary: A man from Interpol comes to question Harry Potter as part of a murder investigation. How will Harry react? And how will this affect his search for Lord Voldemort’s Horcruxes? Plus, the question we all want answered: What will happen with Ginny?
This story picks up immediately after HBP, and is very slightly AU. But hey, aren’t they all?
I have followed this story after reading your excellent Stolen Past/Past Reclaimed and you write with a great original story line.
I hope you can now concentrate on `Almost Me Again`, even though I know Harry`s son is going to come round.
Author's Response: Thanks very much. I\'m really glad you\'ve enjoyed my stories.
Summary: Dumbledore is gone, or is he? Harry feels the weight of the world rests on his shoulders, but he is soon to learn that his brooding nature and desire to face his fate alone may be his greatest weakness. It is his emotions, or rather his capacity for emotion that makes him strong, and his relationships his greatest source of strength.
When the summer begins and he faces a fortnight with the Dursleys everything he knows, or rather thinks he knows comes into question. Can he... should he do this all alone? And is he anywhere near ready?
Hogwarts is to be re-opened, the Ministry officially endorsing it as the safest possible place to be. As his birthday approaches there are monumental surprises in store for Harry. Who is he really? And what about his family, who came before his mother and father? Why is the Potter name so famous, and yet so unknown?
Encouraged not to run off to face his fate he returns to Hogwarts for his final year, but surprises abound at the school as well.
Can Harry become the wizard he needs to be to face the Dark Lord? Will he let the people he respects and love really help him? And what of help from unexpected sources; sources he might never trust?
Good to see a fairly rapid update.
Author's Response: Sorry it took so long. I ran in to validation trouble this time and it actually took longer than it should have. Thanks for the read and the comments.
I bookmarked this story the last time you updated. Saw the latest update and was forced to read it all from the beginning. I really look forward to seeing the rest, but I hope you can get iy up a bit quicker,
Author's Response: Thank you for reading, and especially for commenting!
I am working on chapters ahead as quickly as I can, hopefully the next will be up soon, just have to get it past a Beta reader.
Thanks again! And Happy reading!
Summary: This is an alternate version of Book Seven. Harry reluctantly returns to Hogwarts to train with a new DADA teacher, one appointed in specifically for Harry in Dumbledore's will. As the rest of the Wizard World reacts to Dumbledore's defeat, Harry develops the skills he needs to fulfill the Prophecy--including mastery of the Kedavra curse.
Mysteries are explored along the way, particularly the "missing 24 hours" from 1981--the span of time between Hagrid taking Baby Harry from the ruins of Godric's Hollow on Halloween Night, and his arrival to hand off Baby Harry on Privet Drive the following night. The Veil Room in the Department of Mysteries is also revisited. A traitor is uncovered, and Dumbledore's wisdom comes into question. And even when all goes as planned, things are not all they seem.
Brilliant story telling. Fabulous, original characterisations. Good stuff
Author's Response: Cool! Thanks for reading!
Summary: After a conflicting life as the son of a famous and feared Death Eater, Draco Malfoy has turned spy for the Order. After things go awry, his emergency portkey transports him to his Safe House which turns out to be quite the surprise! New bonds are formed and romance is in bloom. This all goes to show that war indeed brings out the best in people — and the worst.
I was enjoying this and then it ended in nowhere. I hate stories that do this.
Author's Response: Well, it's not over, hehe. It's still a WIP, I just haven't had time to review. Sorry it threw you off. :-)
Summary: At some point there had to have been a choice.
The logical place to begin a story is at the point of the first decision. But what if there were no decisions? What if, at every point, there was only one possible act? What if the story simply cannot be told?
Completed (though not posted) entirely pre-DH.
Being a sad old cannon H.P. fan, I do not particularly like odd pairings. However, this was a brilliant bit of writting and the ending was glorious.
Author's Response: Aw! I love odd pairings. There's so much potential in a relationship when you accept that very few people get it right the first time (or second, or tenth...) and try to see whether they can make it work or not. Anyway, I'm glad you liked this. I was certain that I wasn't going to like DH's treatment of Severus and tried to dream up an alternate ending for him before it came out. Here it is. Thanks for the review!
Summary: Sequel to A Stolen Past. Please read that story first, as this one really won’t make sense if you don’t.
Harry Potter has rejoined the Wizarding world after a year-long absence, but still has no memory of his time at Hogwarts. Will he ever get his memory back? Will he be able to pass his classes without it? And most importantly, will he ever be able to defeat Lord Voldemort? Read on as the last of the mysteries introduced in A Stolen Past are finally revealed.
This is a story of friendship and mystery, with a healthy dose of H/G thrown in for good measure.
Keep it coming!
Author's Response: Will do!
Summary: Harry Potter disappears immediately after defeating Lord Voldemort, and the circumstances all point to him being dead. But when has Harry ever been known to just roll over and die? Join Harry on a journey of self-discovery to find the family he never knew he had.
I know it is all going to come out right at the end , but I would still like to read it before my eyesight fails.
Author's Response: Ooooh! I\'m guessing that\'s a subtle hint asking me to update. :-) Honestly, I really want to continue this story, and I will just as soon as I finish the next chapter of my other story. I don\'t have much writing time right now, so I\'m kind of having to switch off back and forth which story I\'m working on. But I will get to it ASAP.
Summary: The darkest summer reveals the strangest light. An AU sixth year with canon pairings.
I have read this before. What I want to know is why so few readers leave a review on this site? Is it because the stories have been published elsewhere?
Author's Response: Maybe they've seen it before, I don't know. This was actually one of the first sites I started posting on but I abandoned it years ago. I've decided to catch up now since I'm putting together a revised edition of the story.
All is not well.
George uses work and Firewhisky to cope with Fred's death until a drink with a friend leads to something that dulls pain better than alcohol. Emotionally torn by grief, he struggles to allow Alicia into his life...and then comes baby....

This is not my usual my HP fanfiction sort of reading, but once I started the first chapter I could not stop. Well written - good story.
I heart you for reading a story that isn't your usual reading!
I have to confess, though, that every time I see your pen name, I have this knee jerk, oh-my-heck-it's-DAD! reaction and have to remind myself (in Bill Murray from Groundhog Day fashion) that you're a dad, not the dad, LOL.
Summary: In the aftermath of the Battle of Hogwarts, the survivors must move on to rebuild the wizarding world. However, a new threat is rising, putting at risk the tentative gains made by Harry and his friends.
Ths is a good story. Waiting too long for updates is worse than undergoing the crutiatus curse!!
Are you a death-eater?
Author's Response: ::Pulls down the sleeve over his left arm:: Why, no, I'm not a Death Eater. How absurd! Actually, work on this story has been delayed due to the completion and current editing of my recent novel, my strenuous day job, and a family that, for some reasons, wants to see me every so often. However, I have been dabbling with the next chapter a bit and will hopefully not make you wait too much longer before I have something else added to the queue. I'm in between projects right now and hope to use that time to advance the continuing tales of Harry and company a bit further. Thanks for reading and commenting!
I keep coming back to this story but no updates. I assume it is dead, which is a shame but I am going to delete it from my bookmarks. Sad.
Author's Response: No, the story is not dead. It has simply been on hiatus while I deal with such things as my third novel, cancer, and the death of my mother. So please hang around a bit and I'll continue on as soon as I'm able. Feel free to check my LiveJournal (Perpetrating Hooptedoodle) or my Twitter (twitter.com/lee_smiley) for any news on the story. I have been thinking about it a lot lately and, usually, writing follows closely behind such thinking.
