I solemnly swear I am up to no good…
12 January 2008:
I'd like to wish a happy new year to everyone and, regrettably, inform you that I won't be writing a lot of fanfiction anymore. I don't have the time to contribute to it anymore and what time I do have I would like to put towards writing something original that hopefully you will all see on a Borders shelf someday. "Of the Cursed" will be deleted, and you can consider Harry's adventure to continue in a canon-like fashion from the end of "Cruciatus Cursed" onward. I'm so sorry, but thank you for your support, and I'm glad to have pleased you with most of my works. : )
Hello to you, fellow Harry Potter fans. I am Miss Moony, and welcome to my profile. There isn’t much to say about me, nor do I care to say a lot about myself anyway, so here are the important things that you might need to know for future reference if you care to read my stories:
I write only the following ships: Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Remus/Tonks.
My favourite characters are Remus Lupin (bet you never could have guessed), Sirius Black, and Snape.
My least favourite characters are Voldemort (go figure) and Dumbledore (I have my reasons).
My favourite HP books are Prisoner of Azkaban and Order of the Phoenix
Patience is a virtue that I do not possess. Therefore, if I can update quickly, trust me when I say I will.
I answer all reviews I receive. Period.
If you are bored and care to read an excellent fiction, may I suggest Nuw255, Tagidi Riva, Abbs866, or weasleybabe24? They are fantastic.
That’s about all at the moment, so I hope you enjoy my fictions and that you will leave a review if you have some time. I would really appreciate it. Below are some quotes that you may peruse for fun at your leisure if you are bored enough (as I collect a good many of them), and the banner for my first posted fiction, “Cruciatus Cursed”.
If you actually read this without getting bored and taking a break halfway through, then coming back to it later, I shall be quite impressed.

Summary: A man from Interpol comes to question Harry Potter as part of a murder investigation. How will Harry react? And how will this affect his search for Lord Voldemort’s Horcruxes? Plus, the question we all want answered: What will happen with Ginny?
This story picks up immediately after HBP, and is very slightly AU. But hey, aren’t they all?
So sorry, but I forgot about Malfoy. As Jarius is his cousin (I think...), will there be some sort of connection there? Just wonderin'!
PS-Yes, that was NICE! ; P Look at my profile.
Author's Response: Well, since Draco and Narcissa were both murdered by Death Eaters a while back, I don\'t see much else happening with either of them, no matter who they\'re related to.
Thanks very much for mentioning me in your profile. I was concerned, however, to see that Cruciatus Cursed is missing. What gives? Well, you can\'t answer that here. I\'ll send you an e-mail and ask. Take care!
That was great! It makes you wonder: what if there are 'loopholes' in the magical world? It is an excellent theory to consider. It would be hilarious if something similar played a role in book seven. I think this should go on my favorites... love this chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks, Moony. Truthfully, it\'s always bugged me just a little that we\'re just supposed to accept that you CAN\'T block the Killing Curse even though Harry\'s mum helped him block one and his wand connecting with Voldemort\'s blocked another. We\'re also supposed to just accept that you CAN\'T Apparate or Disapparate inside Hogwarts, despite the fact that Montague Apparated out of the Vanishing Cabinet in OotP and ended up stuck inside a toilet. I don\'t know if any of this will play a role in Book 7 or not, but it\'s fun to play around with! :-)
AWWWW! That was so sweet. And I literally laughed out loud at the fact that he is more afraid of Mrs. Weasley than the Ministry! Hee. *sings* Where in the world is Jarius Black? (Yeah, I remember that old Carmen Sandiego thing. Scary...) Unless I missed him... ah well. He didn't have anything to be involved in, so he was there without talking, I guess. Unless you say otherwise... yup, just confused myself again. Anyhoo, love this chapter! My favorite so far!!!!!! Squeeeee!
Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked it. And I honestly believe that Mr. Weasley (indeed, the entire Weasley family) is really more frightened of Molly than of the Ministry. :-) Jarius is off doing his own thing at the moment. He left shortly after the Trio took off for Godric\'s Hollow. Thanks for reviewing!
That was scary; I thought Jared would die for a mo'! Or should I say JB? Yup, I just confused myself. Now, I wonder how the mirror will play into the plot... unless you put it there on a whim? Although I doubt it. I guess I will just have to keep reading!
Author's Response: Nah; I couldn\'t kill off my OC quite yet. He still has some stuff he\'s got to do. Plus, it wouldn\'t be right to kill him off without giving him a chance at revenge, would it? And the mirror... well, yeah; it will play a role later on.
That was terrific! I like how Ginny dug up all that info on Mrs. Weasley. Priceless! And Ron and Hermione... Gah! Too much to even mention! Suffice it to say that I loved this chapter! AND REMUS WAS IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And very IC if I do say so myself. ; ) Well, this was another trip on the Nuw-makes-Moony-a-romantic road. Too great. ; P Anyhoo, now that I am officially caught up, thanks for another great chapter and I hope I can be on time next time! Again, soooooooooo sorry about that. See you soon, Nuw!
Author's Response: Yay! I\'m glad you enjoyed it so much, Moony. It was really long, so it\'s not at all surprising that there\'s too much to mention. I\'m just glad that I\'ve been able to help increase the number of romantics in the world. Welcome to our ranks, Moony! :-)
Poor Jared's dad... That was a very accurate rationalization of her actions as well. I can actually believe that she would do that, the little... well, you can think up some nice Spanish phrases for me, I am sure! I will find some French ones. Another great chapter; I can't believe I never read this fic before!
Author's Response: Thank you very much. I\'m glad you found my explanation believable, and I too think Mrs. Black would probably be capable of everything mentioned in this chapter. *shudder* Wizards really need some kind of Child Protective Services or something. I\'m glad you\'re enjoying the story!
Oh, gosh. I almost didn't make it, Nuw. I feel so sick right now, but it is worth it for that chapter. It was so sweet with Ron and Hermione too! Great chapter. I wonder if we have anything for my stomach...
Author's Response: Sorry about that, Moony. I honestly don\'t think we\'ll be having many more snakes in this story (although you know Nagini\'s going to turn up at some point). Out of curiosity, was it the snakes or the fact that they were being blown up, cut up, etc. that got to your stomach? I really hope you\'re feeling better.
What was that all about with Remus (he was in it; yay!) and Jared, I wonder? *slaps forehead* I keep forgetting that I will find out soon. Whoops! This was a good one too; but why is her patronus a snake? It is pretty cool, but I never saw that coming! Great chapter.
Author's Response: Well, the chapter where you find out what the deal between Jared and Remus was has already been posted, so I won\'t get into that. You\'ll find out when you get there. The snake Patronus.... All I can say is yes, that really is Ginny (somebody guessed that it might not really be her). The reason for it will be revealed in time. I\'m glad you think it\'s cool, though!
I knew it! I saw the interview on the DVD; it was very cute how you included it here! He should just give up the fight; I mean, Voldy could pop into his head and see his feelings for Ginny any moment, right? But that would destroy half of the plot, now wouldn't it? Hee. I keep telling myself not to review till I get to the last validated chapter, but I find new things in each chapter to commend you on. Great job!
Author's Response: Thank you very much, Moony. Don\'t worry; I don\'t mind you reviewing older chapters in the slightest. I find it quite heartening, actually. And yeah, I couldn\'t resist using Towel Girl (and making her Romilda Vane); it was just too perfect. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
I never considered any possible siblings... great idea!
Author's Response: Thank you! That was actually my big worry with this story -- that people would be turned off by that idea. I\'m glad you see it the way you do.
So sneaky, Harry! I like the part about the memories; it was a lovely addition. And I like the use of 'Jarius' rather than 'Jared.' So hawt. I love this chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you. I think you may have a slightly unhealthy obsession with my OCs, but I guess that\'s okay. ;-) I\'m glad you liked the part about the memories; I really enjoyed writing it, and I really think Harry deserves something like that.
Oh! Sorry, I had forgotten that they were dead. Does Jarius consider the fact that Harry can throw off the Imperius curse to be overcoming a magical myth? This seems to be big in canon, so I wondered if it would be mentioned. : )
PS-If you didn't get my e-mail responding to yours, tell me.
Author's Response: I honestly hadn\'t thought a whole lot about the Imperius thing. I always saw that more as an example of Harry\'s very strong will than anything else. So I guess the answer to your question is no, it\'s not an example of a magical myth. Good guess, though. And no, I never did your e-mail response. I found the answer to my question on your author page, though. ;-)
Okay, I read this when it got validated (actually, a bit after) and forgot to review. Then we went on vacation and I had to get through the chaos of getting my job started and all. So, basically I thought I should review now.
The usual: extreme awesomeness in a highly Jo-ish style. If I didn't know any better, I would say that you were her in disguise. But you aren't, which makes it that much more amazing. So great job and I hope that next one validates sometime before I turn 30.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Miss Moony. I\'m really glad you enjoyed it so much. And the next chapter is finally up! Yay! You\'re still well under 30, too. ;-) Good luck with the job and all. Take care.
Yeah, I expect Nagini at some point. It's amazing, I can read all sorts of things, but snakes are the one thing that make my skin crawl. I think it was a mix of both, actually, but it was good the way you didn't go into more detail than was necessary for the chapter. Thank you!!!!! I'm fine. Just thinking happy thoughts. : ) Anyway, I forgot to say to update soon, so... you do that. Toodles!
Author's Response: Thanks, Moony! I actually just submitted the next chapter to the queue, so cross your fingers. I think it\'s a pretty fun one. :-) And I really do try not to get all gory just to do it. I\'m not perfect at it, of course, but I do my best. Oh, and by the way, thanks for passing my e-mail on to Abby. I hadn\'t really realized that the MNFF contact thing wasn\'t working for me. Maybe I should break down and switch to gmail. I\'d have done it sooner, but it\'s such a hassle to get everything switched for all the mailing lists and stuff that I\'m on. *sigh* Oh well, if I ever get around to it, I\'ll let you know.
Okay first of all: I am a few chapters behind on this story and have not yet read them, something that I will correct later tonight. I am here because Rivah couldn't log in and asked me to tell you, Nuw, three things: read it, loved it, loved the cliffie.
Now I will read in a bit. But I am sure it is fantastic as always!!!
Author's Response: Moony! Thanks for passing on the message. I look forward to hearing your reactions to the chapters you haven\'t read yet. And Rivah, I\'m sorry to hear you\'re having login trouble; I hope you can get that resolved quickly and painlessly.
Fantastic, as always, Nuw. I really liked how you had that at the end with Ginny and Harry; it was too sweet. Go ahead and insert an "aww" if you like. ;D Great chapter and I know exactly how you felt when the file got corrupted: I just took care of a virus on mine and blew away the harddrive, so CC is entirely gone. Ah well, you got it up and that's what matters, so YAY and I hope the next is soon! *eyes mods*
Author's Response: Thanks, Moony. I\'m sorry to hear about CC, but I think I saw a new chapter recently, so maybe you\'ve gotten things going again since posting this review. I hope so. I\'m glad you liked the bit of H/G in this chapter, Moony -- it\'s good to see you\'re still a romantic. ;-) Take care, and hopefully I\'ll have another update for you soon.
Okay, done now. I could freak out and say "OH MY GOSH WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN?!" or even better: "NOOOOOOO YOU'RE EVIL, NUW! YOU'RE GOING TO KILL HARRY!" But I will keep my silence, as I know you far too well to believe that you could do that to Harry or Ginny. Instead, I will say that it was an amazing chapter (as was the last, and I am so sorry for being so incredibly late), and I pray for the mods to get the next up soon.
Almost to the end. Now I know how much that sucks from experience. =(
Author's Response: Hi, Miss Moony! I\'m glad you liked the chapter so much, and it\'s really good to hear from you. You know, this is one of the bad things about letting you get to know me -- you refuse to believe I\'ll actually do something terrible to the characters. On the other hand, it means I have at least one ally helping to hold back the angry mob. As you know, the next chapter\'s in the queue. I too hope it gets approved soon. I hope everything\'s going well with you.
Just one sec here:
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! *sings* It wasn't Reeeeeeemus, it wasn't Reeeeeeemus!
Ehem, thanks for that. Awesome chapter. I loved how you made Ginny get so angry at him; they were so IC that it was like reading the real deal again!!! You have to stop doing that, it's bloody scary!
Awesome all in all! Well worth the wait^^ Thanks for another amazing chapter and I hope everything is going well in RL for you and everyone^^ Laterz Nuw!!!
Author's Response: lol! Thanks, Miss Moony. I\'m glad you\'re happy about the werewolf thing. Funny, you\'re the first reviewer to mention that. RL is crazy but still okay. It\'s finals week, so... ya know.
That was an amazing chapter! Very good. I really liked that Harry got so jealous when she said that Jarius wanted to talk to her alone. It was too cute! And I think I know what Harry’s ideas for the wedding are. But I will not say it for the sake of not ruining it for others if I am right. I will just brag about it later! ; P
I love the chapter, but I am really scared of Memory Charms! I just think that it is a bit scary that someone could alter someone’s memory or even make them forget something entirely and they wouldn’t know it! Yup. I am pathetic aren’t I? Go ahead. Be honest. : )
Anyhoo, I really like this chapter and I can’t wait for the next one. So, Happy Christmas and have a very Harry Nuw Year, NuwNuw!
Author's Response: Hehe! Thanks, Moony! I actually wrote all of this long before I started A Stolen Past. After writing that story, I now find Memory Charms a lot scarier too! That doesn\'t mean they\'re not still useful, though (in the right hands, of course).
Thanks for the well-wishing. Happy New Year! (or Nuw Year) ;-)
That was great!!!! I can't wait to see more of what this spell is going to do for them. And great idea with the Spanish. I didn't think of using that instead of Latin, really. Very cooooool. Anyhoo, well worth the (rather LONG) wait for sure!!!!!!! Thanks Nuw!
Author's Response: Thanks! I\'m glad you enjoyed it, Miss Moony. I normally use Latin for my spells, but I honestly couldn\'t find any good translations of \'explode\' or \'explosion\' so I decided to take advantage of Jarius\' South American upbringing. :-)
