I am 17 years old and live in the United States. I love Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Gone with the Wind, and Sweeney Todd. But I have loved Harry Potter since my mom first read the books to me when I was in 1st grade. My favorite is Severus, he's just so interesting!

I don't have any stories of my own up yet, but I would like to. I love fanfiction and HP, but flit to it and away again periodically because of the demands of life.

I like this story so far. I think it was very interesting to have it start that way.

Summary: Ron calls Hermione a Mudblood right before she has to go to a Heads meeting with McGonagall and the Head Boy, Draco Malfoy. Then, when she goes to find her friends she stumbles upon a secret Death Eater meeting.

this story was reasonably good, not what I expected it to be, and it didn't really speak to me. I felt nothing when Dunbledore died, to answer your question, and I think you might want a little more detail. One thing that really caught me by surprise was the proposal at the end. I am a D/G shipper, or D/Hr next. I thought Draco was kept to his character best in the beginning, and the first chapter was my favorate! You ahve good ideas, you just might want a little more detail and more varying words.

Author's Response: I appreciate your honesty, and am glad that you thought twas reasonably good.

Bast: Operation Kitty by Subversa
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 29]

Summary: Some animals are more familiar than others -- this is the story of how Severus Snape acquired his familiar. This story is a one-shot prequel to Master of Enchantment and will make more sense if you read MoE first.

This was interesting, and unusual, but a little OOC with Hermione's letters. They are both so stubborn and different that it will never happen, but someone had to make the first move I remember. I really liked how they slowly softened Severus with a cat, and how Dunbledore first started it. One of the things I did not like was the sex referneces. Those were just disgusting. I also really liked how you based this story off your own cat. Severus is one of my favorite characters, and it was interesting to see him soften. All in all, pretty reasonable, but I would extract those lines about his- parts, if I were you.

This is among one of the best snape/hermione one shots I have read. They are so unlikely that it must be really hard to write a good one. There was very little OOC, and it was short and too the point. I liked how at the end you had the ribbon come, than fly away again, kind of as her with Snape was. That was a beautiful representaion. Did you mean for that too seem that way? I really like sad and bitter stories with a bit of romance, and this one was perfact. But honestly, hermione and snape don't stand a chance. that's just crazy, I don't even know what I'm doing in this catagory, but I'm glad I'm here now. The only thing I didn't like about this was how set in his feelings snape was. He must have masked his emotions well, for a long time to become that unsheilded and persistent. yet it was a nessarsary flaw. And his hair is greasy! Not silky! Oh well, that's only a little thing, and it would have ruined the moment to change that. All in all, a very good story.

Our Little Secret by Kerichi
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 416]

Summary: Past Featured Story

It was like a wizard tale. The clever Slytherin helps a hag who later repays the debt. Except that Rose Weasley wasn't a hag, and Scorpius didn't expect to call in the favour.

I don't normally like fics with characters who were briefly mentioned, but I do like this one! It was original, funny, and kept my attention though it has little dialoguer. I have wanted to know more about Scorpius for a long time, and if JKR doesn't say, why not try fanfiction? I look forward to reading more. The only thing I don't understand is why Scorpius stayed behind to help her. It's random. I didn't feel a strong grasp on his character. Is he as condescending as Draco? Is he as smart? If/when you update this, I would put in a little more clues about him, but then, it's only the first chapter. Good luck and keep up with the great writing!

Author's Response:

Could you do me the favour of re-reading the chapter? I may be a hopeless romantic with a soft spot for Slytherins, but I am never random. Scorpius didn't stay behind, he left and then came back because it bothered him that Rose didn't put off rebrewing the potion--it wasn't logical to his Slytherin mind. He offered to help for two reasons. The first is the one stated: it's like the tale of the clever Slytherin doing a hag a favour and having it returned when he needs it later (he grew up with Lucius telling him those stories, remember?). She's the Head Girl. A Weasley. He likes knowing she owes him. The second reason is subconscious, he doesn't realise it yet, although readers should pick up hints (at least subconsciously, lol).

Hm, OK, I see it more now. I guess I was wondering about it so much in the beginning I didn't pick up on it later. Thanks for the clarification!

Author's Response: Thank you for not taking me asking you to reread the wrong way! After I submitted the reply, I wondered if it came across right, which was me wanting you to see the answers were in the chapter, shown instead of told, at times, like whether Scorpius is smart. He can guess a potion by the ingredients, he deduces from the type of potion that the temperature should be boiling, thinks Rose isn't like him, "only needing to read information to utilise it," and he brews his potion correctly without step-by-step instructions.    From his conversations, I hope it comes across that Scorpius isn't condescending, but he's not always considerate of others' feelings, either. He isn't his father, but he is Slytherin. :D I'm so glad you asked questions and came back for answers!

No problem. I really like he stuff you do, so I didn't mind going back for a second read. Thanks again for the explanations! XD

Author's Response: We could probably trade thanks to infinity and beyond, lol, but I am thankful you want to know who the characters are as individuals, their similarities and differences from their parents. More will be revealed next chapter! :)
