Why I Like Harry Potter: Everyone who knows me at all knows I'm obsessed with Harry Potter and as such, this is the question I get asked the most and the hardest one to answer. I guess I love the books because they're good stories, but it's more than that. They take me from the real world, they ensure that I always have a friend, someone to relate to. They created this wonderful fandom where I've met counless wonderful people. What's not to like about Harry Potter?
My Boggart: Like Mrs. Weasley in OotP, my family being hurt. It would also probably be me squeezed into a tight elevator for eternity.
My Favorite Characters: (in no specific order) Harry, Ron, Hermione (had to get the obvious out of the way), Hagrid, Luna, Sirius, Remus, James, Lily, Dumbledore, Tonks, Neville, and the Weasleys.
My Favorite Ships: Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny, James/Lily, Neville/Luna or Neville/Lavender, Umbridge/Voldemort (hey, they're both pure evil! Muhahaha!)
How Long I've Been Obsessed and How I Express That Obsession (try saying that five times fast!) : I have been obsessed for five years. Life as I now know it started when I read SS after my Dad ordered all the books and begged me endlessly to read them (how he regrets it now....) and then I went on a field trip to see the movie with my class... it was love at first... word? line?
I express my obsession by listening to MuggleCast every week, visting MuggleNet at least twice a day, being a PiPa member, and of course coming here and to the Forums. I also made my basketball team sing on one of the character's birthdays, but after that I could never convince them to do it again.... spoil sports!
*************A Few Facts Regarding Me******************
My Hero: Jo Rowling. She is an inspiration to all of those who have ever been told, have ever thought, that they can't do this. She proved the whole world wrong by coming up with the best book series ever and becoming the first author worth a billion. Take that, those who make fun of me for calling her "Jo", "like she's my personal friend". Who doesn't, though?
Favorite Books: (Besides the Harry Potter series, the best books forever and ever. Amen) The Goose Girl, Enna Burning, River Secrets, Princess Academy, all by Shannon Hale; The Maximum Ride Series, by James Patterson; The Lionboy Trilogy, by Zizou Corder; Percy Jackson and the Olympiads Series, by Percy Jackson; The Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis; Pride and Predjudice by Jane Austen; The Blue Sword, Beauty, both by Robin McKinley; Alas, Babylon, by Pat Frank

Summary: "Some mistakes are too much fun to make just once."
After Lily Evans, Head Girl of Hogwarts, starts a food-fight with James Potter, Head Boy of Hogwarts, they are both given detention for the rest of the year, and are assigned a 'detention journal', which the staff say will help to settle their 'overwhelming and disturbing differences'. We have come across Lily's journal; her take on why the whole affair ever started, her intriguing relationship with one ‘supreme git of the galaxy’, the extents to which she will go for revenge and where it will lead her...
"And if for some unknown reason you come across this, Potter, and the paragraph above does not manage to penetrate your unusually thick head and convince you of my stupendous dislike of you, I hope the following sentence helps: I HATE YOU!"
Hugely entertaining! Usually you see Lily as a girl who never loses it (except toward James, of course). Good job showing the more "criminal mastermind" side of Lily. Update soon, it's always good to have a laugh.
Author's Response: Yeah, I like to make her seem a little different. After all, she isn\'t perfect. Thanks for the review!
Good chapter! Very good cliffie; I can't even imagine what's going to happen. I guess that's why I'm just the lazy reviewer! :D
Have/ Hope you had fun on your cruise! Did I make you smile with my review??
Author's Response: lol , yes you did. And I am having a great time though its a little tough understanging the argentinen quick spanish on here. I will update as soon as I can
This was an awesome chapter!!!! The food fight was described wonderfully-- you had me hanging on to every word as I tried (and failed) to restrain myself from cracking up. I love all of the characters in your story and can't imagine them any other way!! Lily's feisty-ness is awesome, though I'm glad she showed some remorse for her vicious (but entirely understandable and hilarious) actions. I can't wait to read the next chapter! I love this story, keep up the good work!
Author's Response: Wow, thanks! What great review! I\'m glad I could make you laugh...yeah, Lily is going to be a bit remorseful soon as well...
I love it, though I've said it at least ten gagillion times! I can't wait to find out what Terry really said to James... (insert evil laugh here) As far as what Lily could do to James to get revenge.... maybe she could send him a "romantic" note saying that she wants to meet him in a place with lots of people, and then humiliate him in front of all those people? Sorry, I know it's not great.... that's why you're the author! This story is absoulutely marvellous... can't wait for more!
Author's Response: I\'m so glad you like it...I\'ve actually been trying to submit the next chapter for over a month...*sighs and reminds herself that patience is a virtue...* Hmm....I\'ll only tell you that I think there will be a few surpries....*inserts evil laughter*
A different, humorous perspective on Lily.... interesting! It's very good. Please update!
Author's Response: Thank you! I already have the next chapter ready for submission, so it\'ll be up soon.
Summary: James needs a miracle to get Lily to give him a chance. Luckily, Christmas is the time of miracles. From a simple conversation with a mysterious woman in Hogsmeade, James finds the courage to tell Lily how he feels.
Winner of the the Winter Tales challenge 'A Winter Miracle'.
Very touching and extremely cute. I love the description of the ornament-- if there is one like that, I want it!
Author's Response: :D Thanks! I want it too....
Summary: Sirius and Remus join James, Lily, and Harry in decorating a special tree during Harry’s first Christmas. An unexpected visitor brings sad news, but leaves them with words of hope on the snowy night.
This story was written by Gmariam of Ravenclaw for the December Challenge, prompt four - Oh Christmas Tree.
As beautiful as the song referred to in the story.
Author's Response: Thank you very much for the compliment! I am glad you read this story, and I really appreciate the lovely review! ~Gina :)
Summary: My name is Lily Evans Potter. "Potter?" you ask. Yes, Potter. I am married to the world's biggest git. I have decided to tell my side of the story, not only because I don't want our kids thinking I was "won," but also because I am currently bedridden with a pregnancy. Here is the story of how I fell in love with James Potter.
The first two chapters have been updated with a few minor details that will help me stay true to what the 7th Book has taught us about Lily. I'm currently working on a new third chapter, and hopefully, I won't ever leave this for so long again.
I liked it a lot! Very good description of Lily's discovery of her status of a witch.
The only thing was wondering is: Why didn't she ask her parents if she could go to Hogwarts?
Author's Response: Umm. well, I had Lily silently ask her mom. I thought it kinda showed how great the relationship between the two were.
Summary: The Marauders are having their first Divination lesson, and they quickly realize what a waste of time it is. In order to liven things up, Siriusmakes a few predictions without the aid of tea leaves. Obviously, he's no Seer, because there's no way James and Lily will ever get married, Peter will become an evil minion, or Remus will fall for Sirius' baby cousin... right?
Hilarious story! Your use of dialogue was great. It was also awesome to see the Mauraders in their third year, as most fanfic about them occurs in their later years. Can't wait for your next story!
Author's Response: Me neither. C\'mon, mods, it\'s been more tan a week now! anyway, thank you.
Author's Response: I mean \'than.\' I am Typo Queen.
Summary: Everything in life has a “what if?”
What if Voldemort didn’t try to kill Harry in the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic? What if he used the Cruciatus curse instead? What if Dumbledore didn’t come to the rescue until ten minutes after the curse had been executed? And what if Harry had been held under said curse for all ten minutes?
All the answers and more lie ahead…
Slightly AU as it is an alternate ending for Order of the Phoenix. Check out info. on this story on my profile!
***Nominated for a Quicksilver Award***
I loved this story before and still do. I can hardly wait for Chapter Nine!
Author's Response: I\'m so happy! Chapter nine will be in queue soon. I hope you like it; it\'s the first new one since November! Yay! Anyway, thanks so much and see you soon! ~Moony
I loved this chapter, although I'm surprised that it is the longest one so far, as it flowed so easily!
I can't imagine Harry getting the Dark Mark on his arm... that kind of freaked me out! There will be a way to stop this madness.... right??
Anyway, great job, as always. Can't wait for Chapter Eleven!
Author's Response: I was just as surprised, actually writing it was so easy and then I typed it and saw the length. That was a \'wow\' moment for that day. ; ) I can imagine freaking out. If I didn\'t know what was going to happen later. XD A way to stop the madness? Hmm... Why, I don\'t know! I\'m sure if you comb through my profile and get an idea of what kind of endings I like, you will see your answer.^^ I\'m so happy to know that you liked it, LoOnY! Thanks a bunch and I hope to put chapter eleven up when I get a chance. ~Moony
I'm so glad this story is back! I really freaked out when I couldn't find it anywhere. Can't wait for more updates!
Author's Response: yay! Welcome back! I freaked out too; I totally stopped breathing for a minute. I hope to have the rest up soon. Thanks so much for sticking with me here, LoOnY_for_Harry! It means so much. ~Moony : )
Oh...my....gosh! Moony, sometimes you are so evil about these cliffies... grrr... Anyhow, great chapter! I was on edge the whole time... I can't believe Harry actually performed the Unforgiveable Curses! He didn't really kill Wormtail.. did he? I just can't imagine him doing that (well, I can, with pleasure, but not under Voldemort's orders!)! As many times as I gasped in this chapter, I must admit I smiled wryly when Harry used hatred of old Voldy (as opposed to the good people) to perform the Killing Curse... could he be regaining his memory, perhaps? Can't wait for chapter thirteen! Absolutely awesome job, as always!
Author's Response: You know, I have a lot of people saying that he is getting his memory back. Well, the question is will it just pop into his head one day or will he get it back memory by memory? Aye there\'s the rub ; ) Yeah I had a hard time writing him doing all of that under Voldykins\' orders, so I know how bad it must have been to read. I am glad you liked it though and am working on thirteen as I type!!! Thanks a bunch for another great review and see you later, LoOnY!!! ~Miss Moony^^
Great chapter! I just now realized I was sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time! *mentally sends message to Moony* Please let Snape do something to help Harry, please!
I'm so excited that the chapter I've been waiting for since the first time the story was out has been released. Keep them coming, I can't wait for chapter ten!
Author's Response: Thanks! I was actually on the edge of my seat when I was writing it, if you would believe that! Tip for you: NEVER sit on the edge of your bed and write at the same time. Moony+edge=falls off and hurts self. ; ) Not a pretty sight. *sends mental message to LoOnY* I can\'t tell you... *wink* I am really happy that you liked this chapter, seeing as you were with this since the beginning. I super hope you like 10 just as much. Thanks a bunch and I\'ll update soon, hun! ~Moony
Moony, you've done it again! Great chapter, as always, with an underlying sense of suspense and foreboding. Can't they do anything before Harry becomes knee deep in Dark Magic? I have to tell you that I was devasted at your descriptions of how Harry, son of James and Lily Potter, had now joined his sworn enemy and would have to perform Dark Magic, etc. You did a good job with that! I can't wait to see what happens next! Wicked sweet job!
Author's Response: LoOnY! Thank you so much! ^_^ I had thought of them doing something in this chapter, but decided against it at the last minute. I didn\'t want the story to end here just yet. There are about 4 or 5 chapters left, so you will see the end of this story soon. Oh, but it is not the end. I should tell you now that *SPOILER!* I am planning to make this a trilogy!^^ So there will definitely be more to this. And I am glad you noticed that part. It was supposed to have that affect on you as the future for Harry is not known (for you, haha!). Thank you so much again and I hope to put up the next chapter and get over my writer\'s block on thirteen ( >.< ) very soon! ~Moony
Summary: Dumbledore has just died, and a relationship (or lack thereof) between two members of the Order of the Phoenix has been revealed. Hermione Granger decides something has to be done. Can she help bring a little more love to the world?
An awesome story from Hermione's viewpoint. You really have a way with dialogue!
Author's Response: I really want there to be a favorite reviewers section so I could put you in mine! Thank you.
Summary: In the Wizarding world, the Last Battle is drawing to a close. Many have lost their lives, but they will not be forgotten, any more than this horror of a war will.
in the Muggle World, the Harry Potter series is drawing to a close with the release of Book Seven. The characters, plots, and romance will never be forgotten, however, by the millions of fans who are still awake at midnight, waiting for the new book.
Someday, we'll be proud to tell our children, "We were there!"
That. Was. Beautiful. It completely summed up my thoughts for the end of the series-- which I'm still in partial denial about-- and I admit, I had more than a few tears in my eyes. For your "first attempt at poetry", it was pretty darned good. I would tell you how you could improve, but I honestly can't find a single way. Swell job!
Author's Response: Awww. You see, this is why you get to be on that lovely list. Thank you! And no, it isn\'t the last book. It\'s not. The whole thing is just an elaborate joke.
Summary: This poem was written to parallel the poem Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll, only featuring a creature of a different sort.
Good job! You stuck well to Carroll's writing style and created an entertaining parody.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I\'m glad you liked it, the original is great and I\'m glad I could follow it well. Thanks for reading and leaving such a nice review! ~Gina :)
Summary: It's New Year's Eve, but Ginny Weasley doesn't feel like celebrating. She goes for a walk, meaning to sort out her mixed feelings for Harry, and (literally) runs into Romilda Vane instead. In trying to help Romilda, can Ginny learn to live her life again?
This story is not intended for Harry/Ginny shippers. If you are a Harry/Ginny shipper, I would strongly suggest finding something else to read.
Great fic from Ginny's POV. I hope this never happens (I know, I know, you warned me!), but your writing, as always, was awesome.
If you're not a Harry/Ginny shipper (as I am- again, I understand that you warned me :D ), then who do you think Harry loves/will love? I'm curious to know.
Great job again. Your descriptions are really amazing. Can't wait for your next story!
Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, I did warn you- but not to horrible, eh? To answer your question, I’ve shipped Harry/Luna since OotP, but I will be happy for Harry and Ginny when they get back together. IF. Actually, your penname reminds me of that ship. Loony Luna for Harry, LoOnY_for_Harry? Um. I’m sure you’re offended :D Thanks again! My next real story is a Ron/Lav chapter fic (I ship Heron at heart, though), but I have a poem called “Spots” in queue right now. It’s about Eloise Midgen and her- well, it’s about pimples! Yet I think it’s good…
Summary: Eloise Midgen tried to curse hers off...
A short poem about what acne did to Eloise's self-confidence.
That was really funny, though I feel for for Eloise.... mildly. The way you portrayed her thoughts was really accurate.... did you read her mind? ;)
Oh, by the way, I looked at some of your responses to my other reviews and I have responses to your responses:
Oh, shucks! I' m flattered to be one of your favorite reviewers! *grins because life finally has meaning*
My penname: I was actually referring to my obsessiveness for anything related to the Potterverse, but I am also a mild H/L shipper. Jo really had me going in OotP, and I'd be happy with either H/G or H/L.
Sorry for slightly spammy review. Nice work!
Author's Response: *sigh* I still don\'t see the humour, but this has little to do with my readers and more to do with my poetic skills, or lack thereof, I\'m sure. No, I did not read Eloise\'s mind. I did read some teen magzines, though! You are indeed one of, if not my absoulute, favorite reviewer. Because you have left lovely reviews of everything I\'ve ever posted here. MAJOR brownie points, that gets you. I wish I could say the same about H/G and H/L, but at the moment I\'m torn between denial and hitting Jo with a frying pan, so... Thanks for the slightly spammy review!
