Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Read to find out how this one unseemly proposal causes absolute chaos in their lives! THIS STORY IS NOT HBP and DH COMPATIBLE! Hey all! Check out my personal info for the expected date of the next update. =)
I definetly liked this chapter. It was a little slow, but it was necessary, and had some very important details in it. I can't wait for the next update. Hope it's soon. Thanks.
Hi. I just finished reading your story, and I absolutely love it. It's very eticing, and keeps pulling the reader back. I can't wait for more updates!!! Keep up the good work.
Summary: Draco wanted to get away. He needed to get away from all the things that reminded him everyday of the mistakes he had made and the one he had lost. He found the perfect spot too, a small town in Wyoming, USA, a place called Nowhere. A perfect name as far as he was concerned. Magic, fate has a way of finding you no matter where you go though.
Good Chapter. It didn't progress the story very much, but I can see the importance of it, plus, it gave us some insight to the kidnapper. Can't wait for the next update. keep up the good work. :-)
Author's Response: Thank you. I know you are all want the story to give up all it\'s little secrets but I am sorry to say that will be a few chapters away still. Please keep reading though, I promise it will remain interesting.
Great Chapter! Although you would think that Draco would be smart enough not to take Hermionies answer at face value, and see that her really is Abby's father, but I guess that's to come. Anyway, keep up the good work. Can't wait for the next chapter.
Author's Response: Thank you and Draco is not always as smart as he seems but then again, maybe Abby is not his daughter...hmmmm, I\'m still working on that part. It\'s the onl;y part of the story that remains a mystery even to me.
I absolutely LOVE this chapter!!! I can't wait to find out what happens to Abby, and I'm all for Draco going after Hermionie. Also, to find out who the kidnapper is. (Lucius Maybe? hmm?) Keep up the good work. Can't wait for the next chapter.
Author's Response: Ak though I cannot possibly reveal who the kidnapper is...I can tell you that it is not Lucius, he\'s dead. Hope you continue to like this story. Thanks for the review.
OH YOU"RE SOOOO EVIL!!! Nah, just kidding. Really good chapter, but I hate a cliff hanger. Anyway, keep up the good work, and get the next chapter up really quick. PLEASEEEEE!!!
Author's Response: I will get the next chapter up as fast as I can, really, I will. Glad you liked the chapter.
I just finished reading your story, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I can't wait to find out what happens next. I love Abby. She's such a cute character. When are you going to update next? I'll be looking. Keep up the good work.
Author's Response: Thank you for the gret review and I will be updating as soon as I can.
Summary: Nineteen years after Voldemort’s defeat, a young girl named Riana is living an innocuous life with her adoptive Muggle parents until she receives her acceptance letter from Hogwarts.
Escaping the clutches of her loving but stifling parents, Riana travels to London and from there to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There, Riana is viewed as mysterious, cunning, sly, and—though her parentage is unknown—is chosen for Slytherin House.
The two halves of her life clash, as her anorexia battles with the disdain of fellow Slytherin students for Muggle-born witches and wizards. Follow Riana on her journey through the world of wizardry and her search to find a true home, the identity of her real parents, as well as her inner conflict with anorexia.
That was a very interesting chapter. Did you mean to make the shop owner nervous about the snake comment? Any way, I can't wait till the next update. I love this story.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for reviewing. I\'m so glad you like the story. :)
On to your question! Actually, I had the shop owner reacting to Riana\'s thoughtless comment about the messy nature of owls:
“Yes, but I don’t want an owl. Rather messy, don’t you think?” Here she gestured disdainfully towards the wall-length of birdcages and did not notice the affronted look on the witch’s sharp face.
The witch could care less about Riana\'s preference for snakes; she is familiar with, and accustomed to, all animals. However, the owner\'s blunt nature after Riana\'s comment, the use of adverb \"stiffly\" when she walked away, all contribute to her indignant reaction to Riana\'s comment. So, no, I didn\'t mean to make her nervous, although I can see where you might think that. She\'s just affronted at Riana\'s tactlessness.
I\'m so glad you gave me your thoughts on the chapter. I\'m so encouraged when that happens and I love to answer questions. Thanks so very much! ~Julia~
I loved this latest update!!! I can't wait to find out what happens next. Will we (the readers) know the truth of Riana's parents, or at least father, before Riana does, or will we have to wait? Anyway, I can't wait for the next update. Thanks for such a great story.
Author's Response: Thank you so very much. Your reviews are treasured ... It truly amazes me that you are enjoying the story so much, :).
As for finding out about Riana\'s lineage before she does, well... I\'m not too sure yet. :) But, I don\'t know if I want the readers to know, hee, suspense is just so fun! :P
Thank\'s very much for R&R-ing. I really appreciate it.
Okay, I absolutely loved this chapter! I love the fact that you brought the Weasleys into this story, and that you've made Fabian friends with them. I also like the fact that you've eluded to the possibility that Riana could be a Malfoy. I think that is who we all suspected, espesially with her eyes. The only thing that I can't figure out is about the Parseltounge. Malfoy was never a Parseltounge, although, this is your story, so I guess you can explain it any way you want. I absolutely love Riana, and I can't wait to find out what happens to her. Keep up the good work.
Author's Response: Thank you so very, very much, Katy! This wasn\'t my favorite chapter, but I\'m really glad that you enjoyed it.
*whispers* I\'m thrilled that you believe it was a Malfoy ... that\'s what I wanted all along and there were all sorts of (good and probable) ideas, theories, and what-not. I was frightened that the story was going to be a fiasco! *gasp* Ah, well...
The Parselmouth ability will be explained in due time... due time. :)
I can\'t begin to tell you, though, how absolutely overjoyed I am that you love Riana. She is my darling, I love her to death, and, well, she\'s my baby. I\'m so proud of her even though she\'s a little witch at times--no pun intended. :-)
Thanks again. I hope \"Serpent\" will continue to interest you. I can only hope it will. :-)
Hi. I just finished reading Serpent in the Moonlight, and I absolutely loved it. You really know how to keep your readers interested. I can't wait for more updates. Keep up the good work.
Author's Response: Wow. Thank you so much! I\'m so happy that you are enjoying the story. Your reviews truly encourage me. :) ~Julia~
i just finished reading your latest updates, and they are absolutely wonderful!!! I'm curious about the Olivander scene. Are you hinting that he knows who Riana's parents are, or at least one of them? Is he going to tell Dumbledore, like he did with Harry? Sorry, I know I'm nosy. Keep up the good writing.
Author's Response: No, don\'t apoligize at all ... you\'re not being nosy in the least. I love questions. Gives me something to do with my nonexistent free time, hee! :) But you\'re right about Ollivander, he does know who Riana\'s parents (or at least one of them) are, but that\'s all I\'m going to say. *giggle* Unfortunately, though, Ollivander can\'t tell Dumbledore anything because ... well, just wait and see. :) Thanks so much for your encouraging review! I love getting them. Cheers! ~Julia~
I really liked this latest update. I fall more in love with her character with each update. Keep 'em comin'. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
Author's Response: Oh, that is one of the most beautiful things I\'ve ever had in a review. I\'m so very glad that you love Riana. I do, she\'s my little darling, hee! But it\'s always lovely when others feel empathy with her as well. :)
Thank you ever so much for the review and your continued reading. I\'m very grateful. :) *huggles*
This was an interesting update. I liked it, but it was a little bit hard to follow. Are we just supposed to see how her parents are coping, or is the blue book important? Well, I sill can't wait til the next update. Thanks.
Author's Response: Well, it was supposed to be vague and dreamlike. In one aspect, yes, you are supposed to see the reaction of Riana\'s mother, but in another, yes, the blue book is VERY important. It plays a huge role later on in the story.
I think you\'ll enjoy the next chapter more. =) It deals more in the \'present\' than in the dreamworld.
Thanks, though, for your review. It\'s always a pleasure to hear your thoughts on the chapters.
This chapter was interesting, but I think I was hoping for a little more progression in the story. You're doing a really good job creating well rounded characters in Riana and Fabian, but I'm really anxious to get to the heart of the story. Maybe I'm just to impatient. HaHa. Anyway, keep up the good work.
Author's Response: Thank you for the review, it\'s always a pleasure to get them.
Oh, dear, though... I\'m sorry about the slow progression of the story. There\'s just so little we know about Diagon Alley and I wanted to explore that before we got to Hogwarts, although, yes... You\'re right, Riana needs to get to Hogwarts soon. Ack!
I\'m glad you like Fabian and Riana\'s characters; I don\'t suppose there\'s any chance of them becoming flat now, eh?
And of course you\'re not too impatient! I don\'t blame you at all. I can\'t wait until they get to Hogwarts either and I\'m really looking forward to writing those chapters, but, unfortunately, RL is getting in the way and--like it was with this chapter--it might be a while \'til the next chapter.
However, thanks again for the review. =)
Summary: How could one night change a life so drastically? Something as simple as choosing to take a walk could ruin a life forever.
Nell is a fifth year at Hogwarts, but she's not like the rest. She's been through more than most could even dream up.
Hi. I just finished reading "Alone", and I fell in love with it. It's a wonderful story, and keeps the reader coming back for more. Are there going to be any more updates soon? I can't wait. Keep up the good work.
Author's Response: I hope to be updating soo, within this week. I\'m in the middle of writing chapter four, so we\'ll see how it goes. I\'m glad you like the story and thanks so much for the review.
I absolutely loved this chapter! It was really good. I love how you poirtried Remus, and showed how others have problems. I can't wait to see what happens next. Keep the updates coming. Thanks.
Author's Response: thank you for the review!

Absolutely LOVED this latest chapter. I fell in love with this story the first time I read it. I can't wait to find out what happens next. You've got a really creative imagination. Hope the next update is really soon. Keep up the good work.
Really Good Chapter. Is the reference to Ginny nibbling the dry toast a clue that she's pregnant? Just a hunch. Anyway, keep up the good work. Can't wait for the next update.
