All right, just for the fun of it, here is a little bit about me. Yes, I write HP stories. I do this as a bit of a break while I work on my own fiction. Yes, I think that J.K. Rowling rocks! To put it mildly. And thank you, Ms. Rowling, for letting me play with you toys!
Actually, I don't write YA on my own, which is part of what makes this so fun. It's a diversion, when I don't have to worry about what my characters are doing. Need a cure for writer's block? Borrow some vividly created characters, and plot with plenty of room for footwark!
In my spare time, I'm a starving artist. Once upon a time I ran, played basketball and tennis, and generally had a life. Oh, to have dreams! No, I'm not married, nor do I have any kids. Speaking of elusive dreams...ah well.
Thanks for dropping by, and my best wishes!
LOL! This explains a lot!:
You scored as Sirius. You are most like Sirius! You are generally nice and loyal to those you love.
What Harry Potter Character are you

You keep gettign validated again before I can get an in-depth review! lol!
Off the top of my head, the only issue that I had was this(?) chapter was that I had to go back and reread to realize that you had whipped through the train trip and it was, indeed, over. You might with to expand or clarify that transition. Or--might not.
Author's Response: *shrug* Train rides are boring. ;) I really have no excuse, other than the fact that I just had to get them to school. Nothing eventful happened, other than the bit with Malfoy, so I just didn\'t elaborate on it. Sorry it was confusing.
Nice chapter. You could feel free to expand the broom flight, of course. ;)
Author's Response: Glad you liked it. I\'m still a little torn on how much H/G fluff to include. I mean, this story isn\'t in the Romance category or anything, but it\'s obvious that their relationship is a fairly important part of the storyline. I\'m really trying to make sure this doesn\'t turn into just another romance fic, but maybe I\'m trying too hard. Hmmm.... You\'ve given me something to think about, though. :)
Another nice chapter--and again, more later. You might want to fix the typo at "Sorting hat". ;) Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing. I just went and fixed the typo. :)
Interesting that Tyler is writing to Dumbledore...
I don't suppose that Ginny happened to acquire Harry's locket from the odds and ends at Grimmaukl Place?
"Snogging in a broom cupboard..." lol!
Author's Response: Glad you liked the snogging comment. Are you sure that\'s who Tyler\'s writing to? And no, Harry\'s locket didn\'t come from Grimmauld. It\'s actually a very small locket, not big and heavy like the one at Headquarters. Interesting guess, though.
Interesting twists, Nuw. I really liked how you tied things together, and expanded on what we already knew. I had noticed that stray spell vanishing into the veil, and wondered how you would use it. Great! Thanks a lot! 'm looking forward to...an epilogue?
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I\'m really glad you enjoyed the story and resolution. I don\'t currently have anything else planned for this storyline, but I might end up doing some oneshots based on it later on. Right now, though, I\'m focusing on a few other stories I\'m writing.
"Volemort was gone forever,"
He does seem much less threatening as a vole, doesn't he? I think that snakes eat them, too.
Author's Response: Gah! I can\'t believe I missed a glaring typo like that, and in the concluding paragraph no less. Thank you for catching it. I\'ve edited the chapter to include that runaway \'d\'.
Hey, Nuw, I'm slowly catching up on my reading (stealing time with a blizzard outside). Maybe I should finish some of my own stories before July 21. ;)
Thanks again for another chapter, and you seemed to strike to the heart of the harry/Snape relationship. Why should Severus, as a mature adult and a Professor, continue persecuting and harassing Harry?
I think that we will find that Harry's inadvertant "You don't have to call me sir, Professor" holds a kernal of great unrevealed truth.
Author's Response: Well, the fact that it\'s blizzarding doesn\'t do much to narrow down your location at the moment, does it? ;-) I\'m glad the confrontation between Harry and Snape rang true to you. You stated it perfectly in your review, and I have nothing to add. Thanks for reviewing!
Erm, when Ginny came to the door...when did Harry get dressed, or put his shoes on? Did he go down to the garden in his jammies? ;)
Liked it. More later...
Author's Response: Actually, yes. He DID go down to the garden in his jammies. He got dressed after his little conversation with Ron.
Author's Response: Don\'t worry, though. In this story, at least, Harry sleeps in actual pajamas. He wasn\'t running around in his boxers or anything.
What? The next chapter isn't about Tom Turkey?
I wasn't necessarily referring to the shipping. You could expand upon the aerial acrobatics of the two former Seekers as well. :)
Well, my own last chapter was amazingly validated in less than a day (Monday), so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Author's Response: I\'ll keep my fingers crossed as well.
I see what you mean about the aerial acrobatics. I seem to be having trouble with that sort of thing lately, so maybe I\'ll have to add some more to the Quidditch tryout and such before I post it.
And I can\'t believe you just gave away the secret of who Tom is! Now everyone will know! ;)
Crumple Horned Snorkacks. :)
And a good Quidditch match, and a pillow fight. Thanks, Nuwanda!
Oh, I think that "Robbins" has two b's.
btw-I'll be taking an extended hiatus from internet and HP, so best wishes, Nuw. At least I'll have lots of chapters to peruse (and review) when I get back.
Thanks again--you're awesome!
Author's Response: Igo! I\'m going to miss you -- good luck on whatever it is you\'ll be doing. I\'m glad you were able to end on a happy chapter. Oh, by the way, I\'ve always seen it spelled \"Robbins\" (with two b\'s), but Demelza\'s last name is \"Robins\" with only one b. *shrug*
Okay, Nuw? You didn't submit the next chapter. Or just offline for a while?
It's a good thing this is AU, because there are quite a number of things that I might call you on. But it is your story, and you are making your own plot points.
I'll wonder where Ginny was that night that she went missing. The night of the trial. And I'll also note that after Harry's "I changed my mind!", you successfully foreshadowed Ginny choosing to do so as well.
And Harry hasn't written Tom.
As always, I look forward to your next chapter.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and my best wishes to you and your family!
Author's Response: I\'m at my parents\' house for the holidays and didn\'t have a chance to submit the next chapter before the queue closed. I believe the next chapter is where you\'ll find out where Ginny went after the Halloween feast.
One question, though: Why would Harry write to Tom? Do you mean Tyler, maybe?
"Right now, I wish I could bring the sorry sod back to life just so I could kill him again!”
“Because I don’t speak Parseltongue.” ROTFL!!!!
BTW-I'm not sure that Ginny ever Saw Tom or not. I thought she only wrote in the Journal, and he only came "out" when she was unconscious.
Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked those lines. They were both the sort that just kind of came to me and I couldn\'t not use them.
Actually, Ginny did see Tom come out of the diary, although it was probably only briefly. In CoS, right after she wakes up she tells Harry, \"W-where\'s Riddle? The last thing I r-remember is him coming out of the diary-\" So she definitely saw him at that point. I personally think he might have also taken her into some of his memories the way he did with Harry, in order to gain her trust. Thanks for the observation, though; I actually had to go look it up to make sure I was remembering the actual book, and not something out of fanfiction. :)
Very nice. I don't know that Harry would have blasted her, rather than sitting there stunned, but still...also remember that Lee Jordan could have testified about the Blood Quill.
Speaking of "testifying", I suppose that a Squib doesn't equate to a Muggle? Even one still wearing her carpet slippers?
I'm still not too sure that Azkaban isn't too good for Umbridge.
In the "real" HP world, of course, Sirius was cleared. After all, Harry's account of the night at the cemetery would have depicted a very living Peter Pettigrew at Voldemort's side...and said account was published not only in the Quibbler, but in the Prophet as well.
Author's Response: Thanks very much for your review. You\'re right; Lee could have testified about the Blood Quill. I guess I just forgot to include his name. *shrug* As for the difference between Squibs and Muggles, judging by the trial in OotP there seems to be some confusion even among wizards (i.e. nobody seemed to know if Squibs could see Dementors or not). For the purposes of this story, I decided to have the WIzengamot allow testimony from Squibs but not from Muggles.
Although Sirius may have been cleared in the \"real\" HP world, he was not in this one. Lots of people now believe Harry\'s story, but the Ministry\'s official position is that Sirius and Peter were both Death Eaters. This, of course, makes no sense in light of the facts, but when has that ever mattered to the likes of Fudge?
Augh! I check all morning to see if it's validated--then the minute that I have to leave, the e-mail pops in!!!
Started out with a good question--what else did Harry inherit? I'm looking forward to seeing that answered!
Are they really trying to make Snape "pop a vessel" in his head? Isn't that like--a stroke? I thought it was just a joke at first.
I dunno--not trying to win despite the odds doesn't sound like Harry.
Is Harry going to get Horcrux lessons?
Author's Response: The \"pop a blood vessel\" thing is sort of a running joke between Harry and Ginny that their other friends are slowly being let in on as well. They\'re not serious about it, and I doubt it would even really be possible for them to cause that just by making Snape angry. Harry\'s not giving up fighting against Snape; he\'s just using different tactics. Basically, he\'s realized that his doing well in Potions irks Snape more than anything else.
Horcruxes? Not in this story, I\'m afraid. This all started out at the end of OotP, and disregards HBP entirely.
Oh, and how about, "And Ms. Umbridge, your sentence will be extended a year for every month that Mr. Potter is without his memory."
Now, doesn't that just sound delish?
Author's Response: That would have been a nice touch! Too bad I didn\'t think of it.
I log in to read on chapter, and another comes in while I'm at it. kEWL!
Is this the final chapter approaching, Nuw?
I have my questions, but they'll wait until I log in again.
Author's Response: Glad you were able to get two chapters at once! Yes, the final chapter is fast approaching. Only two more to go. :*(
Author's Response: Thank you!
Hmmm...Dumbledore didn't actually attempt legilimency? I think he and Harry are going to have an...interesting conversation during Occlumency.
Thanks again, Nuw. No blizzard in Iowa, but I just had to check in.
Author's Response: Interesting guess. Either way, the next Occlumency lesson will definitely be interesting. ;-)
So, how does Harry get Remus back through?
Author's Response: As Master Yoda once said, \"So certain are you?\" ;-)
"Hermione went over to Hermione and hugged..."
You might want to fix this...interestign first two chapters. I'm looking forwards to seeing where you go with this.
