Summary:
The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Summary: For the rest of the Ministry, the interdepartmental challenge was merely a failed attempt to restore trust between workers. But for Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger, it was the catalyst for an unexpected relationship built on passionate letters, concealed identities, and secret meetings – and the beginning of an end that neither of them could ever have imagined possible, not even in their wildest dreams.
Post-war. Based somewhat on the story of the Phantom of the Opera. Also contains R/Hr, so don't read if you can't stomach that ship.
Status: Complete. Thanks for reading, everyone!
I love it so far. I do hope you will be posting another chapter soon. I don't review very much but I thought now would be a good a time as any. I like the fact that there is no romance right off between the two. Even in the letters it's just a good friendship.. I think a slower build makes a better story. please update soon.
that was great. i can't wait for the next one.

Summary: After the long fight, after all of their hard work, it is over. Voldemort has triumphed, and the Wizarding world has been thrown into darkness. Ginny is the servant of the Malfoys, her free will sucked away from her. Ron is forced to join the Death Eaters, threatened with his family's lives. Hermione is taken prisoner by creatures of the night. But, far away, weak and barely alive, is the one who can pull them out of the storm...if love can survive the challenge.
This was the best chap so far. The way Bellatrix's part was written was so much the way JKR would have. I've read many stories with her in them and she was never quite as cruel as she actuall is. Very well written.
