Memories and Tears: A Christmas Tale by annie

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • 17 Reviews
Summary: A one-shot Christmas treat for you all...a grown-up Hermione Granger wakes up on Christmas day to find her husband at work again. Left alone, the wound in her heart is freshly opened as past memories catch up with her... (some Ron/Hermione in the background for the shippers)

Date: 11/26/06 Title: Chapter 1: Memories and Tears: A Christmas Tale

Great. Did Harry defeat voldemort? He had to have, because I can't see Hermione etc. being alive, much less married and comfortable, after five years of Voldy's reign. You should make it a little clearer, because it would change a lot of things in the story.

One small thing: at the beginning, you refer to her a Hermione Granger. She married Ron, wouldn't she take his name?

Anyway, good job, keep writing!

Your rhyming is fine, don't put yourself down. And sometimes it's better to use a word that doesn't quite rhyme instead of making it rhyme and ruining the flow of the words. I liked this a lot! Keep writing.

Author's Response: thanks for the advice, I\'ll keep that in mind! glad you liked it. :) ~GG

Taking Control... by the_bartender713

Summary: One Shot: "...I can no longer handle this. Why did my life have to turn out this way? Iím young, after all, and I know that it is hopeless. Either way, I shall die, so what is the point?"
A boy turns to desperate measures to avoid his pre-determined fate.

Wow, I can't believe my guess was right? That happens very, very rarely for me. :p. I think it was your refusal to describe "the boy."

Anyway, amazing job with your characterization. Without any physical descriptions you captured exactly what Draco was thinking. I really like how you made him at peace at the end, it was a good ending for the story. People should understand, however, that death does not always mean that kind of happiness. No one should take their life in the hope that the next one, or whatever your beliefs tell you comes after death, will be better.
But i'm just talking on. My pont was, good job!!! Keep writing. -Ananya

The Moment That Was Not by king

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • 89 Reviews
Summary: This story is set in the middle of HBP. Itís a ďwhat ifĒ scenario. I ask the question: What would have happened if Ron had not interrupted a conversation between Harry and Hermione? Throughout HBP, Ron came between Hermione and Harry. I ask you to think about this: If Hermione loved Ron and was jealous of Lavender, why did she have the birds attack Ron? Why didnít she attack Lavender? Read the reviews for my fict. It's been flammed by a Ron-Hermione fanatic who is unbelievably stupid. This is great fun!

Interesting, I like. I would like to say that although I don't think Harry and Hermione would or should ever be together (Harry & Ginny, Ron{matured a little} & Hermione 4 ever)I loved your story.

I think Auror81692 had no right to go off like that, even if I agree with his shipping choices. This is a FANFICTION page. If you want to put Draco in a love triangle with Dumbledore and Dobby, you go for it! Keep writing.

PS: If you write that one, please post it. I'd love to read it. ;).

Author's Response: Hi JusticeForMedea! Thanks for the nice review! Hermione has talents and skills that Harry will need in order to survive and destroy Voldemort. She is the most dynamic female character in the series and she really does have a lot in common with Harry. Anyway, Hermione loves Harry, not Ron. I think H/Hr makes a great starting point for a story which features Harry. You should check out my other stories: \"HP and the Needed One\" and its sequel, \"The Fifth Horcrux\".

Cruciatus by Noldo

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • 29 Reviews
Summary: No one knew, and no one guessed, what little Peter kept suppressed.
A wildly AU one-shot exploring the scenario: what if Peter had never turned traitor? (Mild HBP spoilers.)

That was beautiful, it just seemed to flow. Your use of poetry was very well done. :)

Makes you wonder as you wander what kind of effects our actions have on the world around us. One decision can ripple for generations. Keep writing.

The End of Only One Beginning by LaneTechFreshie

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • 30 Reviews
Summary: Harry had been talked into going back to Hogwarts for his last year, and yet, throughout it, he had been leaving the school very frequently to do as Dumbledore wished. It is here, in a small glen that the fate to the Wizarding world is brought foward. Since neither can live while the other survives, who will be the one to stand up? This is my imagining of the last chapter of the seventh book. HBP spoiler, but really, everyone on this site should have read it by now.

You didn't end with "scar." Interesting... very different. I loved this story, very imaginative. I can totally see it happening in book 7.

Voldy's death was a little abrupt, though. Maybe draw it out more or explain it more next time?

I especially liked how you let the trio and Ginny live. Personally, I think at least one of the four will die, I pictured the maurauders all over again, but this is sooooo much happier. :).

Author's Response: OH...it\'s just sad imagining that one of them are going to die. Sniffle. I don\'t want any of them to die. If Ron dies, what\'s gonna happen to Hermione? and vice versa, and if Ginny dies, Harry\'s gonna be depressed, and vice versa again. If Harry dies....Oh...that\'ll be such an abrupt end to the story. Becuase, it can\'t continue that much after Harry dies, b/c he\'s the main character. It\'s from his POV. Whatever. I\'m glad you liked it, thank you!

Very interesting... I like how you used broken lines and a lack of rhyme scheme (unless I missed it?) It'a not something many do, I've tried it myself but can never come out with a truly satisfactory poem.

Your words, although not poetic in the traditional ABAB sense, touched very deep. By refusing to give it rhyme and meter you shifted the focus to the words themselves. Genius.

Learning About Light And Dark by Hermione_Rocks

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • 8 Reviews
Summary: I don't usually write poetry, but I decided to give it a shot. This poem is about mistakes and regret. It is from Severus Snape's point of view, but could be read from a few character's perspectives.

Date: 11/29/06 Title: Chapter 1: Learning About Light And Dark

Hmmm... Interesting. I like the way you split the lines, and the lack of rhyme is daring. Not many chance it, I can think of only once that I've tried it, not that I'm this amazing writer or anything :p. Good job, keep writing.

Author's Response: I think poems are a lot easier to write without rhymes, actually. Not that I\'m speaking with much experience here, hee hee. :) Thanks so much!

Is it important that Lottie's birthday is in July? Does that mean the prophecy was really about her? Because whatever spirits or powers send prophecies would be really ancient, so when they said the one with the power "approaches" they could have meant a century or two. Am I completely off?

PS: Fantabulawesome :)

Author's Response: Hee thanks for the review! I wouldn\'t say it\'s that important - no. The reason her birthday is in July is because I looked up the \"name day\" for her full name, Charlotte - it turned out to be July 17, I don\'t think I could plot a prophecy to apply to someone else; that sounds extremely complicated. Hahaha. But your idea is really cool - I hadn\'t even thought of that!

Don\'t worry though, there\'s still a lot of things that are different about her that makes her the main character of the story.

Thanks so much for the review!

Ooooooh, I'm loving it. This is just fantastic, so typically Percy. Although I did imagine him not making up with his family untill the end, and I mean the literal end, llike he's bleeding to death or something, this is very good too. Keep writing! -Ananya

Author's Response: I really hold out hope that Percy will reaize his mistake and be redemed in book seven. Though your theory holds merit too, because people don\'t realize what they have until the are about to lose it. Thanks so much for reviewing!

Summary: "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches..."
The war is over, and families are still torn apart, still mourning, still grieving. But what if the prophecy hadn't applied to Harry Potter or Neville Longbottom? What if the future of the wizarding world rests in the hands of a small boy with flaming red hair and green eyes like his daddy? Does he hold the key to a bright future? This boy is all Ginny Weasley has left to remind her of his father...her husband.

Very good fic. At first, when I heard his child was born on the same day as Harry, I was like, "aw, that's cute!" and then when Harry died saving his son, I was like... Waiittt... I see where this is going...
