Summary: The reign of Voldermort comes to an end, and with it ends the prestige and power Lucius Malfoy once had in the Wizarding World. In order to regain the respect of his fellow wizards and to make them believe that he has turned over a new leaf (which he actually hasn't) and has graciously accepted muggles and Mudbloods, Lucius asks Hermione, a Mudblood, to marry his son, Draco, a pure-blood. Obviously, they both refuse, but Lucius isn't going to give up easily. After all, he wants his status back. He still has a few tricks up his sleeve and is determined to play match-maker. What happens next is a series of events that serve only to bring Hermione and Draco closer, both literally and figuratively speaking. Read to find out how this one unseemly proposal causes absolute chaos in their lives! THIS STORY IS NOT HBP and DH COMPATIBLE! Hey all! Check out my personal info for the expected date of the next update. =)
I just had to drop a note and tell you that you are one of the most brilliant authors I've found anywhere. I generally don't read stories until they have been completed and I never reread them. However your story is so fascinating and well written that I check quite regularly for updates and reread it whenever time permits. Personally I'm a H/Hr shipper all the way, but I do on occasion read a D/Hr if it appears to be well-written and popular enough and this is one of them. You are an amazing author and I look forward to the conclusion of this story as well as any stories you write in the future. Good luck! ~BooksandCleverness
Summary: Hermione goes back in time with one mission: to kill Tom Riddle before he ever comes to power. A difficult task, correct? An impossible one, she realizes, as a love between them grows stronger than anything she has ever known. Now Hermione has a choice to make. Will she condemn the Wizarding world to almost certain destruction, or will she take the life of the one boy she has ever loved?
Beautifully icy and excellently crafted.
I am really enjoying your story. I can't wait until you post the next chapter. :dances with anticipation:
Author's Response: Haha I\'m glad someone\'s happy enough to dance. Hermione and Tom certainly aren\'t, in their current predicament... ;D
Summary: Severus has never seen the appeal of repetition, particularly of things that ended badly the first time. In his life, he has kept one pet, owned one broom, and had one close friend.
Winner of Mod Quicksilver Quill for Best Novel! Thanks, all!
Rating and warnings do not apply to all chapters; I just didn't want anyone hooked and then shocked.
I don't know that you read all the comments left here but I felt that I simply had to stop and say a few words to you.
I read this story at least a year ago, although it seems like far more, it was early on in my introduction to fanfiction and I was quite greedily reading just about every other story I came across. Since reading this story I have read hundreds, if not a thousand works of fanfiction and as I am sure you can imagine I have returned to reread very few.
But somehow in that enormous sea of stories, this work stayed with me, although I read it very, very long ago. And so I have looked for it dozens of times on various websites because I was unable to recall exactly where I'd read it or what it's title was. You can't imagine how very please I was to find it again while very determinedly going through all of the Marauder Era fics on in this website.
Because somehow, this story touched me. Really truly touch me.
I have always had the deepest admiration for characters who sacrifice what they want out of love or admiration for someone else. It is not written very often, and rarely is written well, but this story managed to do that.
This story is beautiful, and heartbreaking, and touching and cold. It is a gift to everyone who happens to read it and I am very proud to be one of those people. Thank you.
Author's Response: Oh, WOW. What a lovely review! Thank you so much for stopping by to comment, and I'm glad you managed to find the fic again.
