Git in Shining Armor by juniorauthor

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Ronald Weasley struggles with his teaspoon's worth of emotions during Hermione's stay at the Burrow summer after fifth year. With the Twins succumbing the household to spontaneous product trials, and a new Minister of Magic, one would think that Hermione's Bulgarian pen pal would be the least of Ron's problems.

And that would be what one would get for thinking.

Surprises abound (the Good and the Bad) assure the Weasleys and their house guest this will be a summer all but one of them will never forget.

Final chapter is in queue. Wow, that took forever, didn't it?

Whoops, thought this was a canon consistent fic. Sorry but must toddle off. Percy for Minister?

Harry Potter and the Legend of Infinity by peskypetunia

Summary: So many tiny things can change the outcome of our futures. How much do we already know? How are Ginny and Lily so much alike? Surprise weddings, painfull losses, and Ron without a voice, leaves the seventh year at Hogwarts to be the most interesting yet. Please review.

Just a quick suggestion. Fleur being French, doesn't change her w's to v's when she speaks. Eastern Europeans sometimes do. Having her say. "I shall love you and vant you as lon as zere is breath vithin me" makes her sound like Victor Krum. Check out the dialogue in GOF and HBP.

Otherwise, nice start so far. Very canon-ish.

Author's Response: I suck at the accents, but thanks for the advice. I\'ll work on that. ;) Love your review!

It seems a bit strange to me that Ron and Hermione are complaining about Harry not returning to Hogwarts. If you recall he announced this at the end of Half Blood Prince. Ron and Hermione then vowed to go with him.

Author's Response: Things change. They made the vow in the cinfusion and terror of Dumbledores death without parental guidance.

Not bad, but it needs editing and spellchecking. I don't think Hermione would be caught dead saying "Me and Ron go next". Being Hermione, she would speak grammatically correct English.

Author's Response: You\'re right. But being me, I say Hermione would have said that because she\'s so excited she\'s going with Ron she forgot grammer for a moment. It\'s my story and I can talk bad if I want to. (If your not American that last line is a kind of joke I\'m not that big of a brat. usualy.)

What is Real by orange_balloon

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: At the end of her sixth year at Hogwarts, Hermione was hoping for a quiet summer. She just wanted to go home to spend time with her family and study before returning to the Burrow and her budding relationship with Ron. Then she started dreaming about Draco Malfoy. . . While helping Draco reach safety with the Order of the Phoenix, she finds herself in his arms. Could Hermione’s new found connection with Draco ruin everything with Ron forever?

A Hermione and Ron ship with a heavy dose of Malfoy! I've chosen to list this under Various Pairings due to the complex nature of the story. Both R/Hr and D/Hr shippers will enjoy!

Not sure I understand the whole Malfoy fixation of Hermione's yet. You are obviously trying to be true to canon in this fic. I probably need to keep reading to see how this will play out but I don't find D/Hr credible. It's like a Jew being attracted to Nazi's.

Keep going.

Author's Response: Well, you have quite a bit more to go and plenty more plot to still work through. There\'s a reason. There\'s a reason and resolution for everything (or at least I like to think so). :)

Harry Potter and the Phoenix Quest by bull_patronus9

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: After a week at the Dursleys', Harry, Ron, and Hermione are going home to the Burrow for Bill and Fluers wedding. I put this in R/Hr and H/G because hints of both ships are present, although I view it as more of an Action/Adventure fic. POST - HBP. Sorry for such a long wait, but Chapter 9 has been submitted, ten and eleven are ready to submit and chapter twelve will be soon.

"Harry would attempt to duel him and would loose, then Snape would get away."

Sorry but I just can't stand this typo. Spellcheck won't pick it up. Fanfic authors should probably do a chapter search for the word loose before posting. It's one of the most frequently described typos. Good story though.

Author's Response: Thanks for the correction. I\'ll check that from now on, but for futrue reference, you don\'t need to add extra exclamation points for emphasis (makes me think you\'re yelling at the page. J/K) Thanks anyway.

Please tell me that this isn't an American-Wizard(s)-of-Amazing-Powers-Come-To-Save-British-Wizards type of fic. Nothing seems more non-canon like (and this fic has been very canon-like up to now). Unfortunately, most of them end up as Harry Potter meets GI Joe.

Author's Response: Ok I won\'t tell you. J/K you need to lighten up a bit. I know it seems like they are taking over and coming to save the day, but please believe me, Harry\'s the hero of my fic. Besides, why in the world would I question the British ability to save and defend themselves? Look at WWI and WWII, they did fine on there own, but they weren\'t ashamed to ask for help from across The Pond (The Atlantic). So no, this isn\'t one of those kind of fics.

Sorry I just posted a review, but it seems just so not likely that Dumbledore would tell a bunch of American wizards about Voldemorts horcruxes and not the Order of the Phoenix. I realize this comes across as American-bashing but there's nothing American about HP at all.

Author's Response: I\'m sorry it offends you that I included two American Wizards (not a bunch) in my fic. I will, however, say this: Dumbledore didn\'t just entrust two Joe Shmo Everymen with the secret, I\'m not that stupid. You\'ll be surprised to know that I don\'t believe that he only told Harry about the Horcruxes. But I\'m hurt to know that you think Americans have no right in the HP universe. I really am hurt.

The Battle of Love and Friendship by RupertsPheonix

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Ron and Hermione will find love early on, but will it last? And what about Harry and Ginny? They might come back together--if Ginny has anything to say about it, but what about how Harry feels?

Please don't use the word "loosing" when you mean "losing". It drives most readers up the wall.

Well me, anyway.

Author's Response: In what chapter did I do that? I\'m really sorry, I thought I checked that stuff. Sorry to \"drive you up a wall!\" But I totally understand what you mean, it\'d bother me too. Sorry! --RP

I really apologise but I am going to have to abandon this fic for now. There is such a gap between chapters that I can't remember what it's about. If you ever finish it, I would be glad to come back and start afresh provided it doesn't clash with book 7 canon. Good luck.

Author's Response: Hey, you are entitled - I know I haven\'t updated recently, sorry - I have that whole \"real life\" thing going on - performances, family, sickness, friends, work, play, etc - I probably will update soon, come back if you can stand to. ;-)

This story has a good pace and certainly isn't lacking for exciting drama. I do feel that you are rushing a bit in this chapter. In the space of what appears to be 5 minutes we go from Ginny's dead to Ginny's Alive to Weird Mind Link to Ron Gazes at Hermione to Ginny's Just Woken Up (how long did the Sleeping Draught last 30 seconds?) to Let's check out of the Hospital.

Not that this sequence of events in implausible, they just seem too rushed. If you slow down the action and give the characters time to absorb what they experience, reflect and react to it, your story will flow more reasonably.

Other than that, well done so far and keeping writing.

Author's Response: Yay! I heart constructive crit! Thanks a lot!

Harry Potter and the Seventh Soul by PadfootBaby

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: My version of Book 7. Harry sets off on his quest for Voldemort’s Horcruxes and discovers the true loyalties of certain wizards. He also receives some much-needed help from Hogwarts, though the school itself remains closed. The war against Voldemort rages on and spreads in the Wizarding community. As the death toll rises, Harry, Ron, and Hermione desperately search for the pieces of Voldemort’s soul and the key to his downfall. The lives they had known crumble around them, and the Trio finally come to realize that nothing, not even each other, can be secure anymore.

I have recently got more into this fic again and I am enjoying it quite at bit. It is quite well written in my opinion. A couple of little quibbley points. I found Hermione laughing at Ron's tumble a bit OOC when sneaking into Hogwarts. She would be more serious in a tense moment like this. Secondly, Hagrid would not "switch on a light" in his hut as there is no electricity at Hogwarts. He would more likely, light a lamp. It just jumped out at me as an error.

Lastly, I think you write Hagrid quite well so don't insult yourself. I found him quite in character. Cheers and good luck.

Author's Response: Oh, yeahhhhh, he DOESN\'T have electricity, does he? Oops. :P Thanks for pointing that out, I would neevr have realized that. I\'m glad you think Hagrid\'s in character (I\'m still not too sure but oh well... if readers think it\'s ok, I guess it\'s good enough). And thanks for the review, Ford!!! This story\'s over half done by now, can you believe it? How time does fly... *snif* The next chapter should be up soon! Thanks again!!! :)

The Song of the Trees by Tinn Tam

I started reading this on TheDarkArts.org. Will it continue there or are you posting here exclusively? I read the second half of A Slytherin - A Gryffindor over there recently. Second question. Are they the same or is this a re-worked version of the other? Do I have to start again from the beginning? Please tell me no.

Author's Response: I post the same text everywhere.

Not sure why you hated this, but I liked it very much. I hope that this fic will survive the Deathly Hallows. There are so many mysteries wrapped up in it. Harry's condition, these mysterious wolves, the forest "elf?" who shot Ron into a mysterious coma and at the heart these malevolent old trees in the middle of the Forbidden Forest.

I hope for the best as I have long admired this story. Keep up the good work.

Now that mugglnet.com is caught up to thedarkarts.org, I am avidly awaiting the next installement of this story. The writing is first rate and I have been loving the sinister undercurrent running through it whenever the old trees in the Forbidden Forest come up. Well done.

Author's Response: Thanks a lot, I enjoy writing about the old trees for the same (slightly morbid, I confess) reason. I already have 10k words of the next chapter written.

Not sure I am appreciating an elf or one of Robin Hood's merry men showing up in the fic to shoot arrows. I kind of liked the idea that the forest itself has a sentience (sp?) and is responsible for all these phenomena rather than some band of forest dwellers. Hope the block ends tout suite.

Author's Response: Elf? No. Not quite. And definitely not one of Robin Hood\'s merry men. I didn\'t say the Forest itself didn\'t have a mind (I don\'t know the word \"sentience\" so I can help you with the spelling :/). I didn\'t say the archer dwelled in the Forest either. But she has something to do with the Forest. Everything has something to do with the Forest in this story.

The block has ended, I guess... Now I have two different beginnings for chapter8. :P

Thanks for the review!

I have reviewed this fic in the past but I have a question for the future. Now that TDH is canon, I hope this fic will proceed. It appears to be possible although I can't recall if Fred, Mad Eye, Lupin or Tonks appeared in previous chapters who are now dead.

Can you give me some idea how you will proceed. Of the many fics I was reading prior to the release of Book 7, this was the only one I kept, having abandoned all previous ones.

Author's Response: Please tell me, how on earth am I supposed to make this fic a DH-compliant one, when it features people who have died in canon (can\'t be more explicit for fear of spoilers) and, especially, when I have given my own version of the Final Battle -- and when an element of it, Voldemort\'s death, is actually central to the plot? Besides, I do not need to use any of the Deathly Hallows in a story which has already been completely planned out. I have absolutely no intention to modify it, I\'m afraid. Consider this fiction to be \"AU\" from now.

Love is in the Air by Jane Bilus

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: It's the end of the trio’s sixth year at Hogwarts. The Order of the Phoenix are using Grimmauld Place to discuss the latest problems and how to defeat the Dark Lord. The Weasleys are staying there for the summer, as they are a major part of these discussions. That is, except Ron, who has invited Hermione and Harry to stay with him. Hermione gladly accepts but Harry hesitates for reasons unknown to the other two. Ron and Hermione enjoy the summer days together before Harry finally arrives.

It being the end of sixth, year it seems strange that Hermione would give a cry of alarm at the appearance of Grimmault Place. She spent the summer after 4th year there. As well, it's likely Ron wouldn't have mentioned it in a letter in case of interception. It's still supposed to be a secret.

Author's Response: Ah yeah, of course, she spent summer after fourth year there. sorry. I had forgotten about that.
