Let me take a few moments to tell you a bit about myself.
I live in the great state of Texas and I'm very close to my family.
I love all things Potter :)
My favorite characters are Snape, Lily, Ginny the Trio and the Marauders.
My favorite Het ships are Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Snape/Hermione (No clue how that started) and James/Lily.
And my Slash ships are Harry/Draco, Harry/Snape, and Snape/Remus
A note to anyone reading this I'm bad with words so please don't hold it against me :)
You do a great job writing Severus' POA. I read your longer fic first so I picked up on the subtle hints for why he was watching out for Harry. This fits in great with canon.
I hope you keep writing!
Author's Response: Oh hooray! This is a personal favourite often overlooked by the audience. Thanks for reviewing! And positively!
I'm surprised nobody has left a review for this chapter yet. I think it shows a very canon Snape the way he uses logic to keep from facing his feelings *very Snape*. I liked how the skillet made it all seem real, its often the small details that stick out most to me. That he found comfort with Lily was really needed after all that happened between them, it shows who your true friends are. Hearing about a mischief making McMonagall was interesting and would would make a good one-shot. The toad test brought a bit more humor to the chapter and seemed very Lily-ish.
Thanks for a great read.
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing -- today is grey and icky and overbooked and really needed this! McGonagall as a girl may yet get a good one-shot or several; she hasn\'t stopped in for tea since I suggested this, though. The toad test and its timing on revelation were among the first things I learned about Lily, as I write horribly out-of-order. She thought a little levity might help more than another round of tissues. It often does. I\'m glad to hear you enjoyed this chapter, and that it now has a review.
Very amusing. I like how you showed Severus in the background I think it gives the books more depth. I also liked how he thought Ginny was like Lily in more than looks.
Author's Response: Thanks! I started wondering where he\'d been between getting rid of Lockhart with Minerva and the feast at the end of everything thanks to the movie -- where Dumbledore commends Sprout for growing the mandrakes and Pomfrey for administering without any mention of that middle step. The scene doesn\'t occur in the book, but seems generally to fit the usual state of things. Presto -- plotbunny.
Okay, maybe I can sympathize with Lucius a little. At first I thought this was a one-shot, then after seeing it on OWL with two chapters I checked here and it had six. I guess I didn't get emailed when it was updated. Anyway it does makes more sense reading the whole story. But now I won't be able to look at Molly the same way. I wonder what William would think if he were to find this out. Its amazing what happens when you read too much fan fiction.
Still a great story!
Author's Response: As for not looking at Molly the same way ever again -- come on, everyone was young and stupid once, even if only long enough to get a regrettable tattoo. It was fun to conjecture about what Molly might regret, and whether Lucius had ever been in love. I\'m glad you found the rest of the story -- OWL is getting a somewhat naughtier version just because it can.
I didn't say it was a bad thing, I just see her with more depth now. Before I read it I never thought about her with anyone but Arthur. This story made me think of her not just as Ron's mother. And I'll re-read it on OWL to see how naughty you made her. ; )
Author's Response: Ah, I see. *laugh* Yes, at some point she wasn\'t Ron\'s mother. Thanks again!
I don't think I'll be able to re-read OotP without smiling when Peeves gets hints then uses Minerva's cane. I loved the retell of the toad, it explained alot of the rivalry in later years. I wonder what the reaction of a certain other Slytherin would have been when they first met, not to mention the other Griffindors. You did a great job writing a young Minerva.
Author's Response: Thanks! Peeves started making me smile right after I read OotP and came up with this little theory. The trick was making words to go around it. The toad needs to make some more appearences, doesn\'t she?
I like to see Severus' thought on Harry. And your stories always seem so canon. I hope your write more with their interaction.
Thanks for another great read.
Author's Response: Severus has been slipping in for a little morning coffee, communicating very little, and slipping back out before I notice he\'s dropped off another plotbunny -- I don\'t seem to get to make requests on subject matter. So we\'ll see what\'s next. I\'m as curious as anyone else. Thanks for the nice review!
I still think Ginny's a lot like Lily, I guess I'll always feel that way. I like that Severus tries to help her out, it seems like something the Prince would do. I wonder how she would react to finding out exactly who wrote those little spells.
Thanks for another great story to read.
Author's Response: I think I read somewhere that JKR said Lily was more like Ginny than like Hermione. It made me wonder what Severus thought of Ginny, and -- stories. I\'m wondering that now, too, but I\'m also trying to decide what the look was on Severus\' face when he discovered Draco Bat-Bogey-Hexed by Ginny.
