Torn by dumbledorefluertwins
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 26]
Summary: A dark fic about families torn apart. Daisy Potter is thirteen years old and is already burdened with the responsibilty of her autistic sister and ill mother. Will she ever be able to go to Hogwarts?
This fic deals with Autism and other Mental disorders so if you're easily upset by such thing then I advise you not to read this fic.
I have to say, you are dealing with the autism very well. I have an autistic brother, and I can share some of Daisy's burden (except, my mom isn't very depressed). I watch him all the time. You haven't offended me in any way, and I think you are pulling of the autistic bit off quite well.
Your fic is great so far! Update it soon please!

Author's Response: Thank you, I\'m glad I haven\'t offended anyone! The next chapter is in the queue.

Twist of Fate by Fragile_Heartz
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 3]
Summary: It was only a game.
Sometimes the most seemingly insignificant action makes all the difference.
But in this case, the stakes were higher then most: Lord Voldemort.
A little game with ghastly consequenes...
O.O That was very well-written. How about a fic where you tell the story
about their 'courtship'. It would a wonderful prequel, I think. Good job on the story! It was very well done!

Love Conquers by dumbly_dorr
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 321]
Summary: If you're looking for the usual James-loves-Lily-but-Lily-hates-James storyline, then this isn't it. The thing is, Lily doesn't hate James at all, he can just be annoying at the best of times. As she comes to realise why she doesn't hate him, it leads to the famous love we all know about. Set against the backdrop of a warring magical world where nothing is certain, can James and Lily hold onto each other and fight?
UPDATE August 08: It's FINISHED! Thank you so much to all those who have read and reviewed this story, I have loved your support. i hope there are still people out there who are willing to read it. Keep an eye out for more stories by me!
UPDATE February '08: I have changed the chapter names of some of the 'Defied' chapters, to make this fit and to make it more plausible, as I see the 'thrice defying' of Voldemort as happening when James and Lily are part of the Order of the Phoenix.
UPDATE 20th September: I have altered my facts in the chapter 'Once Defied' as I made mistakes in the ages of James and Lily. It didn't matter so much in this chapter but had annoying repercusions for future chapters. It should all now be correct.
Aww! So aweet!

Finally, I made it to the end...so far!

Minding Harry by Starmom
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 35]
Summary: James has asked Sirius to look after baby Harry for a few hours. This might not have been a good idea.
Wow. You should consider making a sequel about Lily's reaction...LOL

Author's Response: Well, if I did, I imagine it would all be in CAPSLOCKS!!! *grin* Glad you liked it!
Be Brave For Me by obsessed_with_jo
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 6]
Summary: Coriander is the daughter of the infamous Death Eater Draco Malfoy. When her father is killed by Harry Potter, all she wants to do is stay calm, to retain her dignity, and most of all, to remain brave. Bravery, however, isn’t always simply defined.
One-shot, fairly sad. Rated for very mild language. Please R&R!
Aww. This is so sad. I got teary-eyed. I loved your other fic too! it seems like everything you write I love! You are one of my new favorite authors now.
I thought you did a wonderful job with Sophie, and she has the same values as her dad. I would think that any child of Harry's would be like her.
I think you did just as good a job with Coriander as you did with Sophie.
While I could never like Harry Potter after what he’d done, I knew he was a better man than my father had ever been. The outburst was uncalled for as well; it wasn’t as though Sophie had provoked me or even brought up the topic.
I love how she knows what is right, and what is wrong, and how she admits it. She is a strong character, and many others would quite possibly deny their relation to him. I love her 'I love my dad, and if you think that I shouldn't, then screw you,' attitude about it. I love her!
I loved your fic, and I believe that you are a very talented writer! *adds to favorite author list*

Summary:
Hermione and Ron are happily married but forced to live in hiding after the Dark Lord's fall. Harry is hunting down the remaining Death Eaters, who are if possible even more dangerous now that their Master has been defeated; longing for revenge in any way possible...
Ooh! Jennifer! This is wonderful! Please update soon; I want to find out what happens!
But why was Harry there? And how did Malfoy know what was going on? I'm confused.
This is a good start, and I can't wait to read more!
--Hanni
Author's Response: Hi Hanni! *waves* This was only meant to be a one-shot, but you never know, a plot-bunny might strike and I\'ll continue with it. But for now... I\'ll leave it up to the readers to answer those questions for themselves =D It\'s more fun to make up your own. I\'m happy you liked it, Hanni, and glad that you took the time to review! *huggles*
Minerva McGonagall and the Half-Blood Prince by DailyProphetEditor
Rated: Professors [Reviews - 70]
Summary:
What do you do when the man who murdered your best friend turns up and claims to be innocent?
What do you do when you realise you slowly start trusting him again?
What do you do when you fall in love against your will – with a man half your age?
This is a McGonagall/Snape fic about trust, friendship, shame, and love. It’s canon compliant otherwise; set immediately after HBP except for a mini prologue.
This fic also is my attempt at continuing the at Book 7, so you also have the war against Voldemort, the search for the Horcruxces, and the way they run Hogwarts during that year included in the plot.
Side characters like Ron, Hermione, Moody, Lupin, Tonks, Neville, Augusta Longbottom, Draco, Hagrid, and the rest of the Weasleys get their fair share of the story.
It is done novel style, which means that some apparently minor issues mentioned in early chapters will become important in later chapters. I do recommend you read them in the right order.
To be on the safe side, I rated this “Professors” because it contains violence, sexuality, character deaths, and torture - although none of them described in detail.
Also I now have added an AU warning - my story contains two detals that we will not see happening in "Deathly Hallows". I made the Sorting Hat a Horcrux, and Arthur Weasley will become interim Minister for Magic in my last chapter. Well, I wrote this before those rumors were shot down as non-canon by JKR, and I'd not like to change my plot now - so, sadly, my story has become a bit AU. You have been warned ;-)
This is one heck of a fic. I'm always a big fan of rarepairs, and this one looks very promising. Not many authors have a realistic, in-character way of pulling something like this off.
I love how you characterised Severus here. He rarely shows much emotion in the books, except in dire situations, and I think you have this down pat.
We don't know much about Minerva, but the way you write her puts her character into perspective for me. As of DH, she was one of my most favorite characters, and this new spin on her really helps me to imagine her.
“The gesture is charming, Severus, though I think it might be misunderstood. I am perfectly capable of walking on my own.”
XD This really shows her strong character that we see in OotP. I really liked it!
This little cliffie left me hanging on the edge of my seat, making me want to read much much more. I'm curious to see how you make this romance flourish. =)

Author's Response: Thank you very much for that review! I do so love it when people take their time to write long and detailed reviews because that DOES help to improve one\'s writing style. Hope you will like the rest of the story as well (do tell me, lol). I write Minerva/Severus a lot, but the other stories are only published on fanfiction dot net - if you\'d like to check them out, you do not even need to be a member there. Again, thank you for reviewing. - Frank

A Different Sort of War by Sly Severus
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 194]
Summary: Long after a war ends the wounds remain. When forced to face something so horrific a part of a person’s very soul dies. People are left changed. Societies are left in shambles
During this time, people are prone to making bad choices. Horrible things are said and done because the bitter continue to fight. How can such a monstrous event ever truly be over? And how can those left behind truly regain their lives
Teehee Elle.
*sighs* I just absolutely love this fic! It's one of my all-time favorites. =)
Your characterization of Bellatrix is superb, and the way you placed it and the timing? It is wonderful! Bellatrix would have been OOC had it not been for everything that happened to her, but you pulled it off very well and just...*sighs*
Don't get me started on Harry's characterization, LOL. It's also just great! He would be the type to hold grudges...you've done a great job with him, too!
And Cassie? She's a likable character to the extreme, I love her!
*headdesk* I could call you 'brilliant' and 'a mastermind' and it would still be an understatement. =) This is one of the greatest fics I've ever read by anyone, and I think that it's wonderful!
Much love,
Hanni
Author's Response: *Hugs Hanni*
I don\'t know what else to say. Thank you so much. You really made me smile. *hugs again*

Back to Boston by Ron x Hermione
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 12]
Summary: Hermione Granger doesn't know where her life is taking her. She is married to someone she doesn't love, and she is the "bad person" in the Wizarding World, and is shunned for some of the horrible choices she has made in her life lately. She now has an occupation that she loathes, but that doesn't stop her from going through with it, and doing what her boss tells her.
When she comes upon a mysterious, decrepit house, she finds a man that is willing to help her out with her current task. But he has other plans for Hermione . . .
Hermione wakes up in a traditional-style dress, and tries to figure out where in the world she is. She eventually discovers that she has been placed in the Salem Witch Trials, and she is trying her best to get out of that time period - without being burned at the stake first.
This story was written in response to the Spring Challenge – this is Prompt, A Shift in Time. I am Ron x Hermione of Hufflepuff.
Wow. This is following the Crucible very much! It's a play about the Salem witch trials in which everyone dies in the end. =) It's a very good play!
Your characterization is wonderful! Hermione's jsut perfact in the way she thinks and acts and everything!
I wonder, if Hermione gets caught, if she'll just use her wand or apparate or something. It would be the simple way out, wouldn't it?
Keep up the good work!
--Hanni
Author's Response: Thanks so very much, Hanni! And I\'ve been told it\'s like the Crucible a few times, actually, but I\'ve never seen the movie or play. :) I\'m glad you liked it! ~Lindsey :)
Now What? by the_evenstar
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 10]
Summary: After Ron and Harry die in the final battle, Hermione is unable to cope with Ron's death because, unlike Harry's, his seemed unconsequential in the grand scheme of things. Can she ever forgive the person who caused all this to happen?
(The "character death" warning is just for a mention of character death!)
Aww. This is short and bittersweet. I love this, and have found a wonderful new fic to make a banner for for a BA challenge.
But why did Hermione turn to beauty peagants? It doesn't truly seem like her, but it was very easy to go along with! I love this ficlet and I *will* be reading more of your stuff. :)
--Hanni
Author's Response: Aww, I\'m so glad that you liked it! I decided to have Hermione turn to beauty pageants because (I think I might\'ve somewhat explained this in the fic... not sure...) but Hermione felt like her entire \"old life\" had been taken from her when all her friends died in the war. She then turned away from the wizarding world - and everything she WAS in that old life. She turned to beauty pageants simply because it was \"everything she wasn\'t,\" and she\'s trying to find new meaning in her life while leaving her old life behind. It\'s kind of a convoluted way of looking at things, but I hope that makes sense! Anyway, thanks again, and I\'m so glad you liked it! :D
