Hey y'all! I'm back online! Anyways, I just got married, so I've been a bit busy. But I promise I'll start putting my story on here!
The Daughter of Light by Magical Maeve
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 587]
Summary: An Irish witch languishes in the darkness of her family home, confined by her father and circumstances. What will it take to bring her out of this exile? The chance to return to Hogwarts? The opportunity to participate in the fight against Voldemort and his Death Eaters? Or will it be Severus Snape, a man she did not expect to see again in her lifetime?
This is canon compliant to OoTP but written pre-HBP.
Reviews and constructive criticism are most welcome, and thanks go to Ashwinder who kindly beta read the chapters for me. :-)
NOOOOOOOOOOO! Why did Lupin have to die? It's a good story, but it is also very sad.
Who knew that bubble gum could be so good for you? Very clever.
Memories by Fredslover
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 7]
Summary: Lupin has a dream about a night at Hogwarts that changed his life...
Awwwww! I liked the end. It almost made me cry. Poor Lupin. He must feel terribly alone. Very good overall.
Hands of War by Bloodyrose
Rated: [Reviews - 23]
Summary: After a long drawn out war, Harry searches the battleground for survivors. Eventually he stumbles over the last person you would have thought he would have hoped to see...
OMG! I loved it! It was so sad. What was really weird was that when Harry got a lump in his throat, I did too!
Grace by Elysia_Snape
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 5]
Summary: Severus Snape contemplates his life when he finds one moment alone. Very original take on Christian!Snape. Please read and review.
That was really good. It totally captured the essence of Christianity.
Determination by Seren
Rated: [Reviews - 49]
Summary: Back and forth. Back and forth. I rock myself as hard as I can, bashing my body against the sturdy oak doors of my prison. It hurts badly; every time I slam my body against the doors, splinters break off into my already bruised and scratched skin. But back and forth, back and forth, I will rock. Every time I smash into the doors, they weaken slightly. And every weak crack spiderwebbing against the doors is one step closer to freedom. Four girls are held hostage by Death Eater. But they have a plan.
OMG! That was so good! It shows us things that really do happen in our world, but it has the magical twist. You're an inspiration to women. We can make it through anything as long as we believe in ourselves.
Harry Potter and the Legacy of the Founders by VoldemortsPatronus
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 636]
Summary: The war is on and the only person with the power to stop Voldemort's second reign of terror is sulking alone in a cold, dark room. The unexpected arrival of an old school chum in Privet Drive jolts him to action, however, as Harry begins his most exciting year at Hogwarts. Year 6 will include a visit to the ancient village of Godric's Hollow; a first hand account of the 1000 year old quarrel that ripped Hogwarts apart; a Fred and George-style farewell to a certain ex-Minister of Magic; and the discovery of the Half-Blood Prince, a mysterious figure who holds the key to winning the war...
(And, as J.K. says, what's life without a little romance?)
Good chapter! I've been waiting forever for this! Thank you! By the way, no more cliffies!
Very good. I never thought about Nott turning good. Maybe some Slytherins don't want to be bad.
Oohh! Cliffie! Wulfric must be like 1000 years old! How could he be alive?
Smeade does sound a lot like Scrimgeour. I really liked this chapter. You sound very much like JKR.
Author's Response: That\'s interesting, because Scrimgeour was the last person I had in mind when writing about Smeade. Smeade is a smarmy, empty fellow who only cares about what will make a big story. He doesn\'t want Harry to talk to help the public, but because he knows it will sell a lot of papers. Really Smeade was a way for me to vent at journalists and news networks, many of whom care more about a big scoop than actually reporting the news.
I think he and Scrimgeour both want the same thing out of Harry, but for very different reasons.
Hmm. Could the Unexpected Development be that bit about Ginny grabbing Harry's hand?
Author's Response: It\'s actually how Harry reacts to Ginny grabbing his hand, but you\'re close enough. Congrats, you\'re the big winner! Your prize is...uh...this link to my favorite Strong Bad e-mail: http://homestarrunner.com/sbemail78.html
Are people in the UK into homestarrunner.com I wonder?
Author's Response:
That last question was actually directed to any UK readers, not you.
I WAS RIGHT! I knew it!
Ooooohhhhh! Hooray for the Trio!
Harry Potter and the Girl Who Lived by mrsgeorgeweasley
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 1114]
Summary: It’s Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and once again there is a new Defence Against the Dark Arts Teacher, and Snape likes her almost as much as he likes The Boy Who Lived, but why is the new professor so interested in Harry? What dark secrets is she hiding? Is Harry the only survivor of Lord Voldemort’s wrath? Will things ever be simple for our beloved Trio? It’s going to be another interesting year for Harry and his friends, and he’s going to realise that he might not be as alone as he thought and in more ways than one..
This story is newly edited as of 25/3/2009!!
The sequel to this fic has been posted, it is titled Harry Potter and the Unspeakable Power. The spin off stories One Life Owed and The Night That Started It All are also available.
This was written in the aftermath of OOTP. Events of HBP and DH not included.
I haven't even started the story yet. I'm review the AN. I think it's absolutely wonderful that you're dedicating this to someone so close to you. I'll leave another review once I've read a couple of chapters.
I really like these first two chapters. They dig into Harry's personality as well as Lupin's. Keep an eye out for my story. Harry Potter and the Final War. For some reason beyond me, it got deleted.
Why is Percy dead? Noone ever got to exchange apologies. Great chapter, though. It made me cry. And believe me, it takes a lot to make me cry.
It is difficult to make it through tough times without the help of your friends. Recently, I have had some problems, and my friends have really helped. Truer words were never spoken than by Ellie and Sirius.
Harry Potter and the Phoenix Song by Black Iris
Rated: 6th-7th Years [Reviews - 377]
Summary: Pre HBP, post OotP, no HBP spoilers. AU as of HBP
Troubled over the loss of his godfather, Sirius Black. Harry finds himself drowning in depression and fear; until he gets a visitor with a gift even Harry would never have imagined. A gift, which gives him hope, and faith in himself; a gift, that would bring Harry Potter, power beyond his imagining, and make Harry's sixth year his most eventful yet. And hopefully bring him the strength needed to win over his enemies, and fulfill the Prophecy in his favor…
This story is complete. Check out the sequel, Time of the Lost. ;)
Oh man! The story was wonderful and full of emotion. Still, I really wish Harry didn't have to die.
