My fave films/TV shows: All the Harry Potters & Lord of the Rings films, Moulin Rouge, Star Wars (the original trilogy). F.R.I.E.N.D.S, The Simpsons, Scrubs, Eastenders, Holby City, Little Britain, etc...

My fave books: All the 'Harry Potter' books by J.K.Rowling (obviously!); the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy & 'The Hobbit' by J.R.R.Tolkien; 'North & South' by Elizabeth Gaskell; anything by Jane Austen or the Brontes; 'The Chronickes of Narnia' by C.S.Lewis; the 'Shopaholic' series by Sophie Kinsella, etc...

Hiya, it's good, keep going :) But I hope you know that us Brits understand just about all American slang perfectly well (mainly thanks to telly)! We know exactly what a crush is, dude!

Author's Response: Well, yes, I figured you did, I'm not completely closed minded. There are a couple reasons I used this running gag. 1. The story is set in 1997, the fact that its seven years in the past made me think that this might work. 2. It was the most obvious source of comedy, and its one of the running themes of the story (American relating to another culture and visa versa)

Author's Response: Actually, I thought of another reason. Since most of the characters are wizards, they wouldn't have T.V. Granted, I didn't think of that before, but your review spurred me on to try and think of a plausible reason for it.
