NOTE: 'Simon says...' was started after GoF and finished after OotP, HBP was already disregarded, same goes now for DH. Meaning: there'll be no post-DH alterations due to newly revealed Canon, nor will you encounter spoilers. This story is set AU and will remain there.

Jan 11th: Cheers! I found someone at PI to beta for me. Colon deserves a load of thanks! Well, the next chapter is waiting in line. Let's up the hacker-problems will be sorted out soon...

I study languages, liked writing ever since I discovered the art of holding a pen, and read as much as I somehow can manage in my free time.

I started beta-reading fanfiction quite a while ago, but recently quit being a PI-beta due to real life taking over. However, I'll still give my opinion on single chapters.

My current project involves the training of my language skills by translating the story of a friend of mine, Altron.
If you're interested in reading the original, German, version (or maybe even the sequel?), drop me a message, I'll be happy to send you the links.

Every review to this story will naturally be forwarded to Altron.

The Dark Lord's Blog by Schmerg_The_Impaler

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: What does Lord Voldemort do in his spare time? Well, that's an excellent question. Who would have known that the Dark Lord has a blog? (He also has a loyal following of readers, most of whom are Death Eaters and who post their comments.) Voldemort dispenses advice on everything from murder methods to germ protection to Power Rangers to shoes, and gives an account of the life of an evil overlord. But is he posting too much personal information online? And will Harry read it and find out more about the Dark Lord than Voldemort ever intended? Read and see.

WARNING: Extremely OOC behaviour from almost all.

RUNNER-UP in the 2007 Quicksilver Quills Awards for Best Humour fic! Also nominated like 21 times, because apparently my readers are as insane as I am!

should I thank you, my lord, or hate you, for providing another way of avoiding my studies and instead tend to more important things such as reading other people's bloggs, trying to convince myself that this is an alternative way of sozializing which, of course, is a crucial aspect of life?
Would you mind, if I borrowed your intelligent servant to sit my statistics-exam?

Author's Response: +Fanfiction is a great way to avoid doing anything productive. I tended to write this either during Geometry class (Yes, I am only a lowly high school freshman) or when I was supposed to be doing my homework!

A Stolen Past by nuw255

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Fifteen-year-old Harry Potter wakes up in his cupboard under the stairs at number four, Privet Drive with no memory of the past five years of his life. What happened to his memory? What do his strange dreams mean? And most importantly, how will he survive in a school for incurably criminal boys?

This is primarily a mystery, with a bit of shippiness thrown in here and there. Of course, if I told you WHO is involved in the shippiness, that would ruin part of the mystery, wouldn’t it?

This story takes place immediately after OotP (and thus disregards HBP).

sweet, that's what I think, so sweet. Ginny's acting all grown-up here, not wanting to get hurt and considering the consequences, instead of jumping at a chance like many teens probably would - it suits her character.
I just realized there's only one more to go - woot!

Author's Response: Thanks very much. I\'ve taken a little heat from my fellow H/G fans for Ginny\'s reluctance, but I really see this as a sign of maturity on her part. I\'m glad you see it that way, too. Hope you enjoy the last chapter and the sequel!

She died along with her parents this is so sad.
Umdridge, of course. But I somehow doubt she's working on her own. So, on to the next! btw, do you have any idea how hard it is for me to stick to reading during my study breaks and not all at once? :-P

Author's Response: I agree: Petunia\'s story is probably a very sad one indeed, although I think much of her sadness is self-imposed. And as a fanfiction addict myself, I think I can say that yes, I know exactly how hard it is for you to stick to reading only during study breaks. ;-) I\'ve broken down several times and just read stories all in one go, although it\'s been quite a while since I\'ve done that with anything over about 5 chapters. Happy reading!

allright, there's the explanation I've been waiting for. The bumblebee comparison is great, hehe, and it does make sense, so, ok, got me convinced :-)

Author's Response: Yay! I always worry that my explanations won\'t live up to my readers\' expectations, so this type of feedback is always very much appreciated. Thank you!

oh, I wouldn't say he didn't get the girl, I'd say they're both quite allright, the way it is now. Everything else would be - in my opinion - surreal. This way it's slowly developing, so even should Harry regain his memory in the sequel and remeber his 'former' feelings for Ginny, he'd probably keep his 'new' feelings for her, any other way around, he might just - unintentionally - drop her like a hot potato after all, so, I'm glad you went with this solution.

Thanks for an awesome story!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! Quite a bit of the sequel is posted already, so I hope you\'ll continue on with the story. :-)

Don't worry, this was a good way of writing this chapter.

so, Harry can't say where he is. Nor can he write it. This reminds me a bit of the Fidelus Charm. But who could have cast it, and WHY?! Voldy wants him dead, not locked away from Magic. Or maybe just as long as he needs to figure out the rest of the prophecy?

oh, and I don't think it's Herms. But that's because I'm a H/G-shipper and read in your profile that your wife said you er...like Ginny. :]

Author's Response: Wow, somebody actually read my profile. I feel so special! :-)

Your questions are good ones, and they will be answered before too long. The answers probably aren\'t what you\'d expect.

YES! Finally, he got out of that place. I do hope that Tyler won't get into trouble with either the guards or, even worse, the remaining DE...

*sniff* poor Hasseth, there was really no way to save a poor snake's life? At least Wormtail got waht he deserved.

Author's Response: Yeah, he finally escaped. And I really do wish I could have saved Hassseth, because let\'s face it, Harry scaring the pants off of the Slytherins with his snake would be way cool. Sadly, saving her would have created some plot holes. But I still wish I could have done it.

So Tyler lives on I get the feeling that there's a bit more to Tyler, and if not yet, there'll soon will be ;-) Or maybe my screwed up mind is just not able to process the info that someone is nice to someone else, esp one someone being Harry, withtout any dark intentions....
anyways, I like the idea that Harry is able to use his magic instinctively and hasn't lost this part completley.

Snowy soaring up and away from Big Tom, who was sporting a nasty gash on his cheek
Go, Hedwig!

Author's Response: Thank you! Actually, I\'ve been quite amused by the number of people who are suspicious of Tyler. Of course, after fake Moody in GoF I guess you never know who you can trust.

Yes, it did warm me. Finally he found something that could (and hopefeull will) lead him back to where he belongs. Now he only has to realize who Snowy really is. Oh, and I do hope he is clever enough to look up the spells he dreamt about before practicing them on, god forbid, Tyler... too bad Bid Tom isn't around anymore *grins evily*

Author's Response: Well, Harry doesn\'t have any way to look up any spells, since he has none of his books from Hogwarts. Practicing them on Big Tom is an appealing idea, but Harry will figure out something appropriate.

Tyler's some brave kid. I wasn't thinking among the lines of polyjuice-moody (even Harry would notice his friend's drinking problem) but even though he might be just Tyler for now, he might have a job to do later on or be used by DE or something. (you know, kinda like Gollum?)

There's something I forgot to mention before. About Harry using magic without a wand. It's easy to see how he's able to use magic instinctively, like when he's in dangerous sits or using it as a reflex etc, but a spell from each finger and strong effects on the first try - sounds rather advanced to me and since Harry's never been the brightest of fastets to grasp in class, I can't quite believe that bit. sorry. but maybe there'll be an explanation to that soon, so I'll keep reading :-)

Author's Response: Thank you for your comments. There is an explanation about Harry\'s use of magic without a wand later on. You\'ll have to let me know if you find it believable.

His legal guardian Bummer, The Dursleys are in trouble. Send Molly. Please send Molly. Oh, I'd love to see her warth! *grins evily*

Ok, it's a Fidelus Charm. Still wondering why, though. I mean the Dursleys want Harry out of their life as badly as one can want something, but they'd hardly apporach a magical person (and they'd have to find the right one for sth as big as this) so it must have been the otehr way around. And since the DE didn't know his whereabouts either...this only leaves... - *hold on I quickly have to check when this story takes place again - after OotP* - the Ministry. Wow. This is indeed huge. Fudge is doomed. Still even if this is true, it still doens't explain why exactly.
Harry's been a pain in the ... of the Ministry for a long time, ok, but he / they can't possibly believe they'd get away with this. oh my.

Author's Response: Nice logic, there. Sending Molly would have been fun, but I think you\'ll be satisfied with what ends up happening. ;-)

The summary sounded very intriguing, and so far it didn't disappoint me (meaning no, chap1 is not boring at all).

Author's Response: Read on and see, my friend.

*Quote from The Epilogue*

Suddenly Harry was kissing her as if he couldn’t resist the temptation. There was a kind of frenzy to the kiss at first, a kind of desperate need, but it melted into something soft and sweet and gentle, a promise of a future when kisses would never be limited. When they broke apart he rested his forehead on hers, sprinkling a few affectionate butterfly kisses across her face. “I love you,” he murmured.

yay! Ron! yay! Ron and Harry in one prison and Ron knows it! That calls for a serious rebellion! Go boys! *coughs* I guess I'm being a wee bit optimistic here. hehe. Anyway, great chapter, as usual.

*sniffs* this is soo sad. But maybe it's good he doesn't know yet, I bet Ron'd go nuts otherwise and only get himself into trouble. And then he'd be no use to anyone.

I’m not allowed to do magic, remember? Why do I get the feeling she's lying and has a wand up her sleeve or knows wandless magic? I mean: tripping out of nowhere, pian gone...

*sniff* the system logged me out, gotta type it all again: well, I really liked how you ended each part with the same line, really good for the suspense, I doubt I ever read a story / chapter with so many cliffs to hang on to. Though, it seems that most will 'only' end up in torture or imprisonement, so it's only Ron who seems to be left facing something worse...*crosses fingers*

Author's Response: I actually really liked writing this chapter and all its cliffhangers, however terrible it was of me to do it. You\'ll see what happens to all of the characters before too long. Thanks for the review!

kinda unexpected to read such a happy chapter nad loads of comic relief - but it does the story only good. Having Petunia tell the reunion and including her regrets was a good choice. So, what's Malfoy in for? *grins evily*

Author's Response: It was rather unexpected, wasn't it? It was kind of refreshing for me to write happy things happening one after another! But, whether good or bad, I can't help myself -- the next chapter will be my usual angst-y style. And as for Malfoy. . . . Thanks for the review!
