Summary: This story sets right after the end of Harry's seventh year at Hogwarts. A final battle seems to have put an end to the conflict with Voldemort. But the future is uncertain, choices must be made, and they prove more difficult than expected... Harry's world is about to change dramatically, and he must deal with a rising threat on top of sorting his personal relationships.
With each and every chapter, the tension builds, the characters develop and the plot moves along. That is more than I can say for vast amounts of other fics I have read. You do a miraculous job of capturing the emotions and thoughts of the characters. The detail you put into describing the Old Rule is magnificent. You have, no doubt, spent countless hours coming up with this "brand" (for lack of a better word) of magic and it shows in your writing. Out of all the HPFF sites I have been to, this is one of my favorite stories! Keep up the excellent work, I am very anxious to read more! Sean
I loved that chapter. I absolutely loved it. The way Harry is struggling with his dark side, the way Mayfoy was punished (I cringed when I read it, it was very graphic, but extremely well written,) the way Harry and Hermione are discovering their love foreach other...it was perfect! I can't wait for the next one.
ok...i liked this chapter...it lets us know what is coming before harry and the others know...i hope the next one gets back to the harry/hermione situation though...i can't wait!

ok..i love this story..i notice you have it posted on another ff site with quite a few more chapters..i first found it here and saw in your profile that you posted other places, so i went looking and found it..i read the whole thing in one sitting--it kept me in my chair for 6 hrs..i love the way you write and tell storys...i have one thing to say though--put all those chapters here and write new ones PLEASE!!!After i finished it, i was staring at my monitor with my mouth open(wow)...I NEED MORE...keep it up!

It's just these freaking mods! They tell me that the story is out of character, and I'm really trying hard to fix it!!
Well, if you are going to be pushy, and not update until you get as least 30 reviews, then you will not be updating. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy reading your story, but, for whatever reason, people just don't review. I think I understand where you are coming from though. I hardly get any reviews for my story. I have to wonder, are you writing because you love to write or because you like when poeple like your writing? I hope it is the former.

I love to write stories, and I also love to know what other people think about them. Just because I love my stories doesn't mean other people will, and that's why I ask for the reviews. Thanks for continuing to read my story, and don't worry, I will put out another chapter in a few days...I've just been sick is all. I hope this doesn't put you off from reading this fic. I'm not sure why people don't review either...I always review someone's fic after I read it when I think it's good. You'll have to give me the name of yours, as I'd like to read it someday. =)

Author's Response: Yes... I'm so sorry. getting caught up in the shipping wars over at cos forums is brutal. It takes all my attention away. But I will be updating as soon as im done with the chapter, I promise. And this next chapter has quite a lot of humour to balance the sad parts. Yay!
As always, extremely well written. The perfect amount of suspense at the end, and I particularly liked the scene in the common room, with Ron. Harry finally understands the extent of his feelings for Hermione. I also like how you wrote that scene as it pertains to Ron. He is such a good friend to Harry and Hermione, but he realizes this is something Harry has to do on his own (though, Ron won't let that happen again, will he, ahem.) Speaking of "Covenant"...no, I won't pester you *shifts in seat anxiously*. And I have to say that I was shocked to see somebody post a link to the other site, I know how I would feel. Well, I can't wait for the next update, for BOTH stories, hehehe. Sean
Author's Response: Thanks again! I've actually re-done this story, sort of... added a few things and reworded quite a bit, and betaed for myself. I wrote "Kavan" before I knew a whole lot about the HP universe, and am still learning! (I say all this because I think you've already read "Kavan" over on Portkey, and you'll probably realise this version is worded quite a bit different, even though the story line and everything that happens is the same.) Anyway, thanks again for the lovely lovely review. I got one the other day that said "shoot yourself, thx." HA! Don't think I will though. I've got a lot to live for! HAHA! Wow that guy needs meds. Anyway, I'll try to have another chapter up soon! CHEERS!
