In the Ashes by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: Professors • 96 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary:

In her seventh year, Katie Bell knew what it was like to fear death. A year later, she learnt what it was like to see it in front of her. Nothing she had ever experienced had prepared her to deal with the aftermath of that. And then he came.

Caught in a whirlwind of Quidditch, heartbreak, and a rivalry, Katie struggled with her jumbled mess of feelings, one of which she hadn't expected but was growing certain that she could never live without.

Katie/Oliver

Oh my freaking Salazar! This story WON TWO 2011 Quicksilver Quill Awards: Best Post-Hogwarts Story and Best Non-Canon Romance Story. *flail*

This (late) update was brought to you by the (belated) birthday of the ever-lovely Hannah / h_vic. She is a star and an excellent friend!

I love this story, I've gotten addicted to your versions of Katie and Oliver but leaving it there since 2012?! Are you planning on finishing it? Please say yes :)

Author's Response:

I'm actually working on a round of 'Let's Finish the Languishing WIPs', but I'm going through the shorter ones/stories that are closer to being finished first (as you can see by the buckets of new stuff on my page recently). After I finish three more (these are fics that should be done around the beginning of next month), this one will finally get what it deserves, and so will its loyal readers. I've just been recovering from a two year bout of author identity crisis, which has rendered me nearly incapable of finishing just about anything, but I think I'm good now. In the meantime, I recommend that you check out h_vic and her author page. She was the one who got me really into Oliver/Katie, and I think you would enjoy her work, as well (plus, they're one-shots and most definitely complete).
