I'm Anna, wife of 7 years and mama to an almost-three-year-old.

I've been a proud member of the Potterverse for over 10 years, but I didn't find fanfic until 2007, after DH was released and I was desperate for new material regarding a certain boy wizard.

While I've been reading ff for 5 years, writing it is brand new for me. I was working out my first story in my head, when another story showed up and demanded to come out first.

I'm a fan of canon ships and also of ships that aren't canon but also don't go against canon. (Ummm, does that make sense?)

Wait by MagEd
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 45]

Summary: Despite their best efforts, the word "wait" is always in the vocabulary of Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley. Kicking off after the final battle is done and Voldemort is gone, this is how Harry and Ginny sent "wait" to the wayside. *one-shot*

Oh my flailllllllllll. I can't even-- I just love this so much. You are fabulous with descriptions. "Curling like wisps of smoke around her heart until the fire at its roots burned her all the way through." Brilliant. I can already tell this is going to be one of those stories that I read over and over again. Thanks for writing this lovely, heartwarming thing. :)

Scenes from Shell Cottage by WeasleyMom
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 128]

Summary: This fic is a series of missing moments from the time H/R&H were at Shell Cottage, beginning immediately after they Disapparated from Malfoy Manor. JKR shows us what was going on with Harry, but this is my version of what could have happened with Ron and Hermione after one of the most emotional/disturbing events in the entire series.

UPDATED June 2010 When I first wrote this fic, I didn't know what a beta reader was, and frankly, it showed. Thanks so much to Natalie for helping me polish this up and make it more readable. Thanks also to both Julia and Carole, whose helpful comments in the review section allowed me to make some much-needed corrections during the rewrite. I would love to know what you think ~ reviews are very much appreciated!

This was nominated in the 2010 Quicksilver Quill Awards for Best Canon Romance.

I really like how you wrote the exchange between Ron and Bill. So many stories containing this scene have Ron being super rage-ful (throwing vases, dropping f-bombs left and right, etc.) and while Ron's always had a bit of a temper and he's not exactly know for squeaky-clean language, escalating the conversation to that height seems completely OOC and melodramatic. The way you've written it here feels very raw and emotional and REAL. I could feel Ron's anguish. Well done.

Author's Response: I really appreciate this review. I originally did not intend to include a scene between Bill and Ron, but as I was writing, it just sort of evolved and I knew it had to be an important conversation. I love the relationship between these two brothers, and it was fun to dig into a little bit. Thanks so much for reading, and for this lovely review! ~Lori

Oh my. Ginny is my absolute favorite character, and H/G is my otp so I love love love this. You have such a command of language and you really are a brilliant writer. In the Al section, when Ginny finds the comic, I felt all the things Al was feeling, and that's the mark of good writing, I think: to have your readers actually feel the emotions your characters are feeling, instead of just reading about them. Well done.

I'm grinning like an idiot over here. I love the way you wrote Ginny and Harry. I teared up during Molly and cried during Lily Luna, and now I can't stop giggling. I'm sorry I have nothing more constructive to say than I loved it! I'm off to out the rest of your works on my reading list.

A breastfeeding fic! I am in love! This takes me back to my daughter's early days when I probably sounded a bit like Ginny and my husband patiently took care of her before and after nighttime feeds and patiently walked the hall with her. Thanks for that.

Author's Response:
Yes! It actually surprised me when I wrote it. Considering the subject matter, this is a surprisingly popular story.
It’s written from experience, except I had to walk up and down the stairs, it was the only thing that worked.

Ohh, this is heartbreaking. I've always been sort of neutral-feeling toward Colin, but this story made me want to cry. Well done.

Author's Response:
Thank you.
The deaths of Remus, Tonks and Fred are (it seems to me) a staple of Battle and post-Battle stories. Poor Colin is often overlooked.

I've really been enjoying this story, and was going to wait til the end to review, but I had to after this chapter. This was beautifully written; I love the use of the second-person POV here. I feel like 2ndP is really hard to make work but this is a stellar example of its effectiveness when done well. I also really like the reminder that the battle wasn't all wizards. And how poetic that Buckbeak got his revenge. Well done.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
This was my first attempt at second person. I was looking for a way to show a non-human perspective, and coincidentally there was a discussion on the boards about second-person at the time. I’ve only ever attempted it on one other occasion (Owl Post). I had to do something to mark the efforts of the four-legs in the battle.

"I’m Harry Potter, James’s dad.’ There was so much pride in his voice when he spoke those last two words that I wanted to hug him" Aw, this makes me want to hug him too. Great line.

Author's Response: Thank you. I know that not everyone agrees, but I regard the DH epilogue as a brilliant piece of writing. JKR manages to show the different family dynamics of the next-generation Potter and Weasley families in great detai,l using very few words. -N-

I'm really enjoying reading about Harry & Ginny's family through the eyes of a Muggle neighbor, especially the clever ways they come up with to explain things (like their housekeeper called Creech) and the observations Jacqui makes that she thinks are far-fetched but are really quite accurate.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I’m certain that a good part of the popularity of this story (and it’s by far my most popular) is because you (the reader) can feel superior to poor Jacqui, because you know what’s really going on. -N-

Interesting...Jacqui is the daughter of the Mrs. Lake in H&P. I know I already said this, but I really enjoy how your stories all fit together.

Author's Response: Thanks. I try to make sure that my stories can be read without reference to each other, but I also try to make them fit, so that people who read all of them spot (usually unimportant) stuff others might miss. -N-

Ohhh, George. All your characterizations are so very lovable. Not in that flat, teddy bear, never-do-anything-wrong sort of way, in the real-life, flawed-but-I-love-you-anyway way.

Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you think so. I try to retain the character's flaws. I have been accused of making Ginny too angry and violent, but I've also been accused of making her too meek, so... -N-
