I'm an avid reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, podcaster, fangirl. I'm just about to start A-levels, and so there isn't always a lot of time for writing, but I always make time to read great stories.
Summary: In the Final Battle, we know that Remus and Tonks lost their lives fighting; however, we never saw a death scene for the two of them. We don't know what was going on with them during the battle. We only know that Remus came before Tonks, and then we see that they are both dead. This story is my take on how the power of love can never be ignored, just like Dumbledore always said.
A really great concept for a story, as I love Remus & Tonks but have never read any based around their deaths before. I'd be happy to beta for you anytime!
Summary: Weddings don't just happen you know! They need planning.
Love this :) And yay for updating this fic!
Author's Response: Thanks, and sorry for the long delay in submitting anything. Major real life issues. :-( But I'm back :-) -N-
Summary: Lying to myself, lying to my friends, lying to Remus, to Sev . . . to James. I couldn't do it anymore. I had to suck it up . . . and fall in love.
In the midst of a war, Lily Evans, consumed by fear for her small family and her own identity as "Muggleborn", finds herself turning to the least likely person for protection and companionship - James Potter. This is yet another story of that fateful seventh year, when two people came together, and gave birth to a saga.
I really like this fic - this last chapter just made me smile and I loved to see Lily's feelings develop. If you ever need a beta reader, let me know :)
February 2000 Newly Qualified (in record time) Auror Harry Potter remains obsessed with “The List.” The ten people still wanted for their part in the Battle of Hogwarts. Their capture is essential. It will bring closure to the events of the past few years. Harry has set himself a target. He wants to see “The Last Death Eater” and the other nine captured before the second Anniversary of the battle. His attempts to meet his target will bring heartbreak, danger, pain, and a lifechanging injury for one former DA member.
Nominated for: Best Post-Hogwarts (Chaptered) story - Quicksilver Quills 2012
Great chapter - I love this story and it's plot! The inventions that you have created are imaginative and really entwine the muggle and wizarding world together. Can't wait to read the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks I’m glad you’ve enjoyed this, but there is no next chapter. It’s my second completed “novel” (I don’t count Tales of the Battle). There will, however, be a sequel. ;-D -N-
Please update soon! Love this storyline and really want to see where it leads. Great writing style and cool original ideas :)
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I hope to have the next chapter ready soon. -N-
Summary: It's Halloween and the Head Boy and Head Girl are stuck in the greenhouses for detention. Will they escape the clutches of the deadly Devil's Snare…or worse, one another?
A lighthearted tale for Halloween, not to be read in the greenhouse.
Love this! (There isn't really much else I could say to describe it, sorry! :D)
Summary: Lisa Turpin - new recruit to Dumbledore's Army - is determined to prove her worth to the team. But when Ginny Weasley informs her that her patrol partner has changed, she isn't at all happy. Susan Bones is not a girl she's had much to do with, for the Hufflepuff girl has never excelled at anything.
But can an hour on patrol, and an accident with a foul smelling egg change things between them?
This story was an emergency fic for Natalie's birthday (in case I pulled the other one), but is also a Halloween tale about life under Snape and the Carrows. I have to thank Alex (welshdevondragon) for beta'ing and being AIM available for a chat.
Disclaimer: I'm not JK Rowling. You know that, don't you?
Wow - I never even considered this ship, but after 3 chapters I already love them to pieces. Awesome writing as always!
Author's Response: Thank you! I appreciate the review :) ~Carole~
Alice Longbottom has lost so much, but a Christmas day that she strives to remember may be the worst.
All that Alice can remember is that it was her son’s first Christmas.
Nominated for a 2012 Quicksilver Quill.
This is Padfoot11333 of Hufflepuff writing for the Great Hall-iday Challenge-Prompt 1: A Christmas to Forget.Since it was the only story in its category, it couldn't win first place, but it did win 5 bonus points for excellence, which I am very proud of =)
Summary: Dread is the only thing that goes through Ariel Sachs’ mind as he embarks on his last year at Hogwarts. A place he’s grown to hate. He has no plans and no hopes for the future. The only constants in his life are his loneliness and his crush on Christian Ackerman, the Ravenclaw stud. Ariel soon realizes that his plans to quietly survive his last year won’t work, when he gets caught up in the preparations of the first wedding to be held at Hogwarts. On the way, he will find support from a couple of unexpected characters and maybe, even, meet that someone he has been longing for his entire life.
Loving this fic as it's completely different to the majority and has a unique style. Please update soon!
Author's Response: Hi thank you! I'll try to update as soon as I can.
Gah cliffhanger!! Please update soon!
Author's Response: The next chapter it's almost done. It'll hopefully be up soon. Thank you for the review!
Summary: It's Christmas Eve and Draco sits in The Hog's Head contemplating his chosen path ... and the girl he used to share his dreams with.
This song is a potterfied version of Fairytale of New York which is possibly the best Christmas song of all time. The original was sung by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl.
I am not JK Rowling, Shane McGowan, or Kirsty MacColl.
The fabulous singer that was Kirsty MacColl died tragically eleven years ago today. R.I.P.
Wow! That's great :) Love that song and you've really creatively imagined it.
Author's Response: Oh, thank you. I love the song, too. ~Carole
I know I love Lily, but we want a baby. And it’s driving us apart. I think we might have to accept that we might not get one.
So Sarah laughed to herself and thought, “After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have the pleasure?
Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But he said, “Yes, you did laugh.”
This is Padfoot11333 of Pufflefluff writing for the Great Hall Cotillion.
You've captured exactly what I consider James & Lily's relationship to be. Great fic!
A photograph and a slew of memories were all that remained of Remus Lupin's schoolboy romance with Marlene McKinnon. But she was gone, and he gagged on all the things he never said.
This story is dedicated to the gorgeous and always-inspiring Equinox Chick/Carole/Croll of the Dungeon. May your minions never stray in their worship of you. It was inspired by a rather gorgeous song by The Cure, called Pictures of You.
This story has been nominated for a 2012 Quicksilver Quill Award: Best Marauder Era.
Beautiful, short and sweet.
Summary: In 1993, Bill Weasley is working on a tomb in Egypt with a team of Magiarchaeologists and Curse-Breakers. It is a job like any other ... or so it seems, until members of the expedition start dying, and Bill has to race against time to figure out what exactly it is that they awakened in the tomb of Mentuhotep, and how it can be stopped before it reaches him.
The following are characters from JKR’s creations: Bill Weasley, Ragnok, Agatha Chubb (QttA), and the last names of Deverill and Pilliwickle. I don’t own them and never will!
I owe a large debt to Hannah (coolh5000), Carole (EquinoxChick), and Natalie (hestiajones) for their constant encouragement and help at various stages of this story.
Fair Warning: Some of the reviews (naturally) contain spoilers, especially those towards the end. So if you want to be safe, don't read those before you read the story.
This story just WON a 2012 QSQ Award in the General category, as best chaptered story. THANK YOU!!!
A really great original story which, although it uses JKR's characters, seems to reinvent each of them. I've seen Bill in a new light and hope to read more of your fics soon!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review! :)
Summary: Spring, 1979: When both their love and their lives are tested by Dark magic, James Potter and Lily Evans must defy Voldemort for the first of more confrontations to come during the first Wizarding War.
Winner, Quicksilver Quill Award for Best Marauder Era story
A lovely little short story which I love. I do think that in Lily's situation at the end I would have been a bit more indignant but I do love the ending overall. I suspected that James would already have a ring :) Keep writing more great fics!
Summary: Lily Evans hates James Potter; he's reckless, careless, hopeless. James Potter loves Lily Evans; she's feisty, forward, firm. Over their years at Hogwarts, both of them change, and their love eventually becomes the stuff of legend. This is the story of how that love started and how it touched the lives of everyone they knew.
Great story; I can't wait to see where it leads. I really enjoy your writing style and characterisations. Please update soon!
Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying this. It's coming slowly and somewhat out-of-sequence, so once James and the gang decide to show up when I need them and not before or after, I'll have another chapter posted. Thanks for reading! ~ Megan
Summary: It had been three years since his wife's death, but the first woman to make him feel something is the last woman he'd have thought. The fact that he's closer in age to her father than to her does not help matters.
Otherwise known as All Soraya's Fault.
Important note: I used the Student/Teacher warning as a precaution; the relationship in this story is between a teacher and his former student, for whom he had no feelings while she was under his tutelage. Just to be clear.
Another important note: I'm not JKR. She has a much nicer house.
A great story - I was sceptical of the pairing at first but your intricate storytelling pulled at my heartstrings and made me believe in them. Please keep writing!
Summary: Charlie Weasley loves his job in Romania: he was born to lead the life of a carefree dragon keeper. Yet when a new keeper from Wales arrives to help with a difficult Chinese Fireball, Charlie is forced to take on a partner, when he'd rather work alone. And this new keeper challenges him in more ways than one…
Love, love, love this ship! I've enjoyed all the fics of yours that I've read, but this is one of the first original ships that I've agreed with. I couldn't see how you could possibly end this tale in such a short space of time but it was true perfection.
Narcissa Black and Lucius Malfoy were put on earth for each other: the most perfect soulmate the other could find. But life wasn’t going to make it easy for them…
This is a story of young love, stubbornness, misunderstanding and forgiveness. This is the story of them.
I have upped the rating for later chapters. However, most warnings are for milder instances.
Great fic - please update soon!
Author's Response: Thanks very much - I'll try, but I am working on some non HP stuff at the moment too, so it might be quite a while.
Summary: Diffraction - the phenomenon where light encounters an obstacle.
It is September the first, and a sixth-year boy takes photographs of excited children on platform nine-and-three-quarters. Everyone looks happy, but Aaron Harper's heart is leaden. He can deal with the girl he fancies going out with the obnoxious Hugo Weasley, but coping at Hogwarts with no support from his father could be one obstacle too many.
This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my story for the Character Clinic OC challenge: Prompt 1.
Disclaimer: I'm not JKR: Hogwarts isn't mine, neither is Hugo Weasley, but Aaron Harper and Genister Avery are.
I love this ship! Somehow, despite using only 2 chapters, you have managed to hook me in and tell a story which was unrushed and paced well. Definitely going to keep an eye out for any chaptered fics that may arrive :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much. I had an idea for this couple after writing a small bit about Genister in my chaptered fic, High, and then expanded on Aaron in a fic called Swans. I am so pleased you enjoyed the story because I do think it's hard holding the interest with a pair of OC's. Thanks again ~Carole~
