I just love Harry Potter and I enjoy other people to discuss it with.
Battling Jitters by EmilyJayne
Rated: Professors [Reviews - 286]
Summary: They have battled evil, fate, destiny, time, even each other. Now Ron and Hermione take an emotional ride to battle something equally as treacherous….nerves.
The third installment in my “Battles” series continues here in a fluffier-than-is-normal-for-this-author tale depicting the Jitters Ron and Hermione experience when popping the big question and the events leading up to it.
If you have just found this story, be sure to read “Internal Battles” and “Battling Boundaries”. This story stands alone, but the other two will help complete the back-story. You should enjoy them too! Let me know what you think!
Disclaimer: JKR started it…I am just playing with the fabulous characters!
A Different Kind of Magic by unjellify
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 105]
Summary: James Potter is Head Boy and Gryffindor Quidditch captain in his seventh year at Hogwarts. He has three best friends and his life seems perfect--except that Lily Evans, the only girl he's ever loved, can't stand him.
Lily Evans is Head Girl and top of their class. She's always been disgusted by James' arrogance, yet she can't seem to stop blushing when he's around.
As their Head Boy and Girl duties bring them together, can James find a way to win Lily's love?
A Different Kind of Magic has been nominated for the 2011 Quicksilver Quills: Best Canon Romance. Thank you!
I've temporarily changed the rating to 3rd-5th years due to site glitches. I don't think there is anything graphic in the story thus far, but please read at your discretion anyway.
I really enjoyed this story and I cannot wait for more! I enjoy the suspensful romance and also the Hamlet line right in the middle (note the penname) The only thing that really irks me is the use of godric instead of God but that's just me :)
Author's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review! :) The Godric instead of God thing for the characters from wizarding famiilies is something that I did think about for a while before I decided to do it. It still sounds a bit weird to me sometimes. But, since a lot of the interjections in Jo's novels include Merlin or one of the founders, I didn't think that it would be realistic for Sirius to go around saying, "Oh my god!" all the time. xD
