I'm 21 years old, born and raised in Michigan, USA. Harry Potter's been in my life ever since I was 8. I accidentally started by reading Prisoner of Azkaban first. Whoops. My dad corrected me before I got too far, though.
I'm a fourth year English major, and I love fanfiction because it sharpens my writing skills, and of course, because I love Harry! I started doing it in the summer of 2011. I wrote my fanfictions in this order:
The First Howl
A Werewolf at Hogwarts
From Opposite Sides / Ways To Say Goodbye
My top five characters are Lupin, Hermione, Neville, Luna, and those hilarious Weasley twins. I can relate to Lupin and Luna the most, which is why I honored them in my pen name.
My favorite couple by far is Remus & Tonks, although Tonks' parents (Ted and Andromeda) have really grown on me, since I wrote their story. And I may or may not think that Hermione would've been better with Harry... Favorite couple that never happened? Neville and Luna!
You'll notice pretty quickly that the music I love inspires me in every way, whether it's chapter names or a sample of lyrics that go perfectly with the story. I'm also really inspired by the books I read, but If you ask me what they are, prepare for a long list :) It includes the Hunger Games trilogy and a load of books by Scott Westerfeld.
Thank you so much for letting me share my writing on here! Reviews are much appreciated.
Summary: It is a truth universally acknowledged that Muggle-borns wishing to maintain their good health should refrain at all times from talking to Andromeda Black. Ted and Andromeda don't get along, to put it lightly. But when situations push them together, can they get over their pride and prejudice and come to care for one another?
Ted/Andromeda for VV's Pride and Prejudice class.
You know, I really think Ted and Andromeda deserve more credit. They obviously overcame a lot to end up marrying! That's why I love their story so much. You did a very good job at telling the beginning of it :)
When times get rough, vigilance may be the only thing that you have left to fall back on.
As an Auror, Kingsley Shacklebolt has seen many horrors, but few compare to this. When he discovers the body of a trusted friend and colleague, Kingsley must unravel the mystery before it’s too late. Surrounded by deceit and losing all faith in a corrupt Ministry, Kingsley must move quickly in order to stop another murder from taking place; a murder that would destroy all he ever fought for.
Time is short as Kingsley rushes into a confrontation that will that challenge everything he ever believed in.This is Gonz of Hufflepuff writing for the Gauntlet Round 7.
This was a great mystery, and kind of bittersweet that you changed when Tonks died :( But I love Kingsley even more because of this story, and I had no idea whodunit until the end! Wonderful job.
I'd always thought Andromeda and Ted had a wonderful story behind them, and this just proves it. I can see her doing that to Ted. But we all know that they got together in the end :)
Summary: Rising Death Eater and Slytherin sixth year Lucifer Pella never really counted on falling in love. What was love but a messy, hurtful affair that had left her with more regrets than anything? But then she met Hillary, and all her pre-conceived ideas disappeared. Hillary is everything Lucifer would want in a significant other. "It's like someone had reached into my heart and photocopied my secret desires."
But Hillary's a Gryffindor, and not just a Gryffindor, but the daughter of two famous Aurors, killed three summers ago by Death Eaters. While slowly falling for this sunny girl, Lucifer is ascending through the ranks of Lord Voldemort's army, and there's no turning back once you're a Death Eater...
Set in the Marauder's Era, during Lord Voldemort's first rise to power.
Warnings: Mentions of abuse, character death, mild profanity, some sexual situations, and slash.
Great story so far! Can't wait to see what will happen...
Summary: But for now--for now you allow yourself this little bit of happiness. And when, on the way home from St. Mungo's, she slips her hand into yours, you smile down at her and squeeze her slender fingers gently, knowing deep down inside of you that this is a fight you'll end up loosing in the end.
It's a perfect view into the mind of our favorite werewolf. The story is just bittersweet in so many ways. Wonderful job!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading! :)
Summary: It's the morning of the first match of season: Gryffindor versus Slytherin. As usual, Ron is nervous. He takes a walk by the lake and encounters some Doodle Shadowed Knooks - at least, according to Luna.
Luna always was good at making peole see things they'd never noticed before...
Please review :D
Great job! When you put it this way, it makes me think that Luna would've been good for Ron. She really is so optimistic, and Ron needed someone to cheer him up. As you can tell by my username, I love Luna :)
Summary: Tonks never wanted to give him up, regardless of his furry little problem... Follows the secretive romance of Tonks and Remus from just after OotP until their untimely death.
No matter how it's told, I never get tired of reading a Remus and Tonks story. Their story's just so wonderful. I loved the "sugarplum fairy" joke, too :)
Summary: Astoria returns to visit her father at the Malfoy Manor during the war. Draco is very interested in getting to know her, and they talk about the faces they keep for the public. Astoria gives him some very important advice.
Wonderful story. I think it's great that Draco found a girl who thinks like him :) He really needed someone like Astoria, to help him get away from the demands of his family.
Summary: There is always the question of what must be and what simply may be. No matter the answer, the question is one of the most difficult to grapple with - something both Remus and Tonks quickly find out.
Usually, I think stories need dialogue, but this is such a great look into their thoughts. I love Remus and Tonks :)
Arthur Weasley has an obsession. He can’t keep it off his mind. It tinges every thought in his head and consumes his dreams. He can’t concentrate on anything else. His friends, the ones who haven’t given him up as a bad job, tell him he’s crazy and he knows they’re probably right. But that’s not even the worst part. Do you know what the worst part is?
She’s completely oblivious.
…And you thought it was Muggle Studies he was obsessed with.
Chapter 6: Quidditch and Kids is up!
I've always liked Arthur and Molly. What a twist, that she's got a boyfriend right now! We're going to have to fix that, won't we? ;) Great story.
Summary: What if Draco had seen his father for who he really was right from the beginning?
Harry's visit to Madam Malkin's from Draco's point of view.
This makes me wonder if Draco would've dared to betray his family, like his aunt Andromeda did, for a good reason. Nice look at his side of that first conversation. J.K. Rowling mentioned that he reminded Harry of Dudley, and that's pretty true. I can see that here, as well! Wonderful job :)
If you only knew
I'm hanging by a thread,
The web I spin for you.
If you only knew
I'd sacrifice my beating
Heart before I'd lose you.
If I drown tonight, bring me
Back to life.
Breathe your breath in me;
The only thing that I still believe
In is you.
If you only knew...
They weren't sure, but they might have loved one another all along. Some avenues were always meant to be explored.
When I read "Goblet of Fire" when I was 9, I kind of thought they would end up together. And I can see all this confusion happening. It was great! By the way, I love that song you named it after. It's always cool to use song lyrics in writing :)
Haha, I'm right there with you. I remember reading HBP and being annoyed that Harry was being slated to end up with Ginny and Hermione with Ron. Still a bit miffed about it, but I guess it's not my call. It doesn't mean I can't bend it a little for my ebil purposes. :D
Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Summary: As Voldemort vanishes, love blooms. But, while the course of true love doesn't run smooth for Ginny Weasley, nothing can stop true love. The most it can do is delay it for a while.
Wow. It's cool to see GInny's side of the war. Awesome job so far!
Summary: What started out as a scheme for revenge lead Hermione to question her happiness and emotional commitment to the one she thought would be hers.
That's a great way of describing how Hermione used Cormac. In the book, I thought it was really funny, but you made it serious. Nice job!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! My goal is to stay as close to canon as possible in my writing, except of course for the plot elements :)
Summary: The resistance against Lord Voldemort's regime meets a remarkable girl who changes everything. One-shot.
I'm glad that you gave the trio more people to back them up. And Sophie sounds like the kind of girl who's willing to help them. It's always interesting to add your own ideas and think, "what if?" That's what the alternate universe is for, of course. Great job!!!
Summary: This is Luna Lovegood’s sixth year at Hogwarts. Three of the few people she considers her friends are off saving the world, and the school is in ruins with its new management. The world is looking bleak to everyone, even this usually happy-go-lucky girl. The bit of hope that remains in their hearts is the club of students who are still willing to fight for what they believe in, Dumbledore’s army. This is where Luna finds comfort, and where she finds that she’s lost something. No, this time it isn’t her shoes, it’s her heart, and even Luna can see that it wasn’t the nargles.
I always thought Neville and Luna should've been together. But you'll make that happen, won't you? :) Nice story so far!
Summary: Nearly two months after the Battle of Hogwarts, Hermione disappeared. Harry and Ron exhaustively looked for her throughout the entire British country and Australia. Without any results, they eventually, gave up and moved on with their lives.
Harry married Ginny, Ron married a nice unknown girl, and all was well ... until 2015, when twenty years after the last Triwizard Tournament, Hogwarts decides to hold yet another one. During the first task, Harry gets the shock of his life when he sees the Beauxbatons champion, Rose Granger, and especially when he sees her mother. He seeks out to find answers, but they're not what he expected.
You know, after reading "Goblet of Fire" when I was nine, I thought that Harry and Hermione might end up together. Great writing! Can't wait to see where this story goes... and I recognize the title, too. OneRepublic :)
Summary: Ernie Macmillan had never had trouble speaking his mind... until he met Justin Finch-Fletchley. But with the Wizarding World at war, Ernie has to tell Justin everything, because when you love someone, you should tell them every single day.
I really loved the story. It's got a great message, and we never heard much from Justin or Ernie after "Chamber of Secrets". Nice job :)
Author's Response: Thank you!
Summary: In the Final Battle, we know that Remus and Tonks lost their lives fighting; however, we never saw a death scene for the two of them. We don't know what was going on with them during the battle. We only know that Remus came before Tonks, and then we see that they are both dead. This story is my take on how the power of love can never be ignored, just like Dumbledore always said.
That struck all the right emotional chords. They're my favorite out of the main couples, and I'm glad they got to say goodbye. Sounds like they went to a better place after all :) Aw.
Summary: Draco Malfoy's sixth year at Hogwarts is as infamous as Dolores Umbridge's detentions, but what really motivated him to attempt to kill the great Albus Dumbledore?
After his father's imprisonment in Azkaban, Draco is left feeling humiliated and alone. Coming from a family where reputation means everything, he jumps at the chance to prove himself to the Dark Lord; but will he be able to go through with the momentous task of murdering the greatest wizard known to man, or will he learn to value just how precious life can be?
I really felt Draco's confusion over what choices to make. He's one of those characters that feels forced into the family business. You told it very well :)
Author's Response: Thanks! I found it difficult in this chapter, because I know nothing much happens, but I really needed to set up how his ambition contrasts with his family ties. It's something I want to make him struggle with much more - especially how let down he feels now that his father is in prison. I'm glad you liked it!
