I'm a new reader and i happened to stumble on this marvelous piece of yours. Thanks for keeping me entertained. What do you know? You just made me a Dramione fan. Cant wait for the next update ;)
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Janice and welcome to MNFF! Wow, glad I yanked another soul into the Dramione-ship, haha. :D Enjoy! Update should be in the next week.
Summary: In his sixth year at Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy begins his training as a Death Eater. Whether he likes it or not. When Hermione Granger is kidnapped and held prisoner at Malfoy Manor, Draco's life becomes even more complicated. She challenges everything he's ever believed, and draws feelings from him he never knew he could have. Witness their relationship unfold as Draco prepares to make a life-changing decision: to accept his family's destiny for him or to risk both their lives by turning his back on it all.
Oh how despicable Lucius is! He might as well be Voldemort incarnate! I don't think he is capable of love either... My, my..what a cliffhanger, Stef. I can't wait for the sequel. Thank you sooooo much for the great storytelling. I love, love, love it! Hurry up with the sequel...hahaha...hope that's not too much pressure!
Ilike you, i always believed Draco was basically good, too good a son,in fact, trying to live up to his parents' ideals. I love the way you portrayed how he made his self-realization so epic and almost like an aha moment. It made his change of colors from bad to good believable, plausible....and yes, it certainly would make readers say "i knew it! He's a good guy!" . Keep up the good work! I've read a lot of stories here so far, and i must say, yours is the best!
Author's Response: Oh!! That's music to my ears!!! :D You and I are on the exact same page regarding Draco. In my story, I really wanted to get inside his head as he sorted through the conflicts that I believe would be very real for him. Growing up in that family, how could he not be negatively affected? I think that, while he's not perfect, he has so much potential for good-given the right set of circumstances. Thank you so much for your wonderful compliment-I take it very much to heart. Be sure to let me know what you think of the chapters to come as well. Thanks!!! Luv, Stef :)
When are you coming up with a new chapter? It's a riveting tale....nicely written, good flow of story. Im on pins andneedles waiting! ;)
Author's Response: Eeep! Thank you soo much!! I'm so very glad you like it. The whole story's actually been written- finished it last week- but I have to get each chapter Beta'd and validated. I have chapter seven in the queue!! Thank you for the feedback on the actual writing as well- it's such an encouragement. Keep watching for Chapter 7, and let me know what you think of it!! Luv, Stef :)
Hard as it may sound to HP fanatics, fact is, good guys in the books can and will act atrociously as circumstances call for. Take Mr. Weasley, for instance. It has been established that there has always been bad blood between the Malfoys and his family, despite the fact that they are closely related. All the belittling and insults they have endured with the pureblood-crazy wizarding folk (mainly thru the cajoling and instigation of Lucius) make it believable that he would somehow want a little pay back of sorts, even if it's through his son Ron's getting the upperhand in a fistfight with Draco.
Stef, your writing gives the characters a very human touch. It doesn't sound fantasy but very real! I love it! Can't wait for your next installment. It's just marvelously addictive, my dear =)
Author's Response: Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
You understood EXACTLY where I was coming from! Everyone is human in my story, meaning that everyone wil make mistakes, and Arthur's reaction, though not his finest moment, is completely understandable. In addition to Lucius's insults, Arthur knows that Draco's done the same thing t Ron. I can't blame him for wanting a little payback.
I try so hard to give my characters that human touch, to make them (and their reactions) as realistic as possible. It means the world that you have validated my efforts. The next chapter is the last one :( but I will be writing a sequal! Let me know what you think about how it ends! Luv, Stef :)
Summary: When you are carried away with your worries, fears, cravings, anger, and desire, you run away from yourself and you lose yourself. The practice is always to go back to oneself. - Thich Nhat Hanh
He has been running for as long as he can remember - then again, that isn't saying much.
Her job is to get him to stop - which is easier said than done. But it is him and her - it was never going to be easy.
Hi, Alice! What's up? I hope you're not getting writer's block! I miss reading your work. Hope you update soon. Love, your # 1 fan. :-)
Brilliant and well written. Never thought I'd be a Draco Malfoy fan... But I'll tell you what...I'm a fan of Alice Mac! Hope you update soon!
Author's Response: Haha, yay! I'm glad I have a fan! Thanks so much for the review - the next chapter is being beta'd and I'll put it up as soon as I can :) ~ Alice
Wheeeee! An update! The plot thickens! Superb as always, Alice! Keep it coming, pretty please... =)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for you review! I'm glad you liked it - the next chapter's being beta'd and should be up soon! ~ Alice
Summary: After the Battle of Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy and his family found themselves as outcasts. Hated by the Magical community, they were shunned for months following the battle. Draco, having changed dramatically during his service as a Death Eater, knew that his family got what they deserved - even felt they should have received a more severe punishment. He regretted and hated his past and had no reason to believe that his future would be much of an improvement.
Until he got a letter inviting him back to Hogwarts.
He knew the risks. He knew the consequences. But he didn't know her.
You're off to a good start. I have high hopes for this one. I have been a fan of Draco's redemption since reading the last Harry Potter book. It will be interesting to read how your vision unfolds. Best of luck!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm glad you like it. It's nice to get feedback. Especially when, so far, it's all so positive!
