Average teenager livin' it up in the USA. I just really love Harry Potter. I mean... I'm a fanfic site. Lawlz.
Fav characters are Hermione and Draco (but I'm not Dramione)
Fav book (and movie) is GoF.
And yes, I did love (and cry my way through) DHp2. Thanks for asking.
I'm a self-declared Hufflepuff, and Hufflepuff on the Beta Forums. I'm awaiting my Pottermore email, and if I'm not Hufflepuff there, well...
Summary: After the disastrous events of the end of the Marauder's fifth year, a fuming Lily Evans decides that that arrogant James Potter and his friends need a taste of their own medicine. The straight-laced Prefect suddenly finds herself pranking her class's trickiest boys--and maybe even enjoying it. Coupled with a series of mysterious apology letters that Lily has begun receiving, it's bound to be an interesting year.
Winner of the 2010 QSQ for Best Canon Romance!
I finished this story earlier today, and I just finished what you have of the sequel and WOW! I'm currently obsessed with Lily and James fics and these are perfect. I love how you kept us on our toes with waiting for them to date already. Plus, I love the comedic action with the Mauraders. Especially Sirius, you portray him perfectly in this stories! Great work, can't wait for the rest of Stars Apart!
Summary: My name is Rose Evans. My parents were Lily and James Potter, and Harry Potter is my twin brother, though he didn't know. I was raised by Severus Snape. This is my story.
RECENTLY NOMINATED FOR 2011 QSQ BEST ALTERNATE UNIVERSE!! Thank you, grangergirl35!!
I usually am not a big fan of alternate, non-canon fan fics because I feel like a lot of time the author doesn't know how to pull it off right, but you definitely knew the balance here! It was the perfect "what if" story for me; it was developed enough to make you want to pay attention to Rose, but also to make you think about what if this was the way Harry's story went? I liked reading Harry's story from a different perspective. Really great work! I hope you keep writing!
Author's Response: I can totally identify with you there- as a rule, I shunned AU as well, preferring canon to stories that seemed cheesy and implausible. But I started making exceptions (there's exceptions to EVERY rule, of course), and I've found that AU has so much more wiggle room! If you do thorough research so that it fits in neatly enough, it can turn out wonderfully. My worst fear that this story (which essentially started out as a "what if" to keep me occupied in boring algebra classes) wouldn't have a balance, that it wouldn't fit seamlessly into Harry's story. So reviews like this give me a HUGE boost! Oh, and I never stop writing. EVER. I'll have something new up eventually (I've been toying around with next-gen since May), so till then sit tight! Thanks for the review!
