Make It Right by LiliacFleur

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 67 Reviews
Summary: What will it take to open Lily’s eyes and show her that James Potter is no longer the cocky, annoying little boy she sees him as, and make it right? A little trouble with Professor McGonagall, a detention and a list, it seems.
When Lily is forced to write a list of the positive attributes of James Potter, she finds her task less difficult and much more enlightening than she could ever have thought.

A one-shot fic that somehow managed to make itself into a two-part fic, featuring one of the Potterverse’s most beloved couples.

this was so cute! i know i'm a little late in reading it haha but you did a great job! i think you portrayed james and lily's characters amazingly, almost the exact same as i would picture them. and the story itself was very cute and mcgonagall at the end too funny.

i'm obviously a little late haha but i was fishing around for oliver/katie stories. the whole fred/angelina bit was funny in a sad way because he died probably after this was written but the story was good. i'm a little disappointed it wasn't very fluffy and they don't get together and everything but i guess not everything can end that way. great story!

tonks is such a guy magnet! i can't believe the anger/sadness that charlie would go through if he found out his brother was going after the girl he loves! i love remus/tonks but i this story makes me feel so bad for charlie :(
this is one of my favorite stories and i can't wait for an update and to see another interaction between tonks and remus!

Author's Response: I'm on hold with this for a while, because I need to concentrate on other writing, but I will finish the story. I have recently written a Charlie story which is based a few years later. (Mirrors, if you're interested).I don;t think Bill quite realises how much his brother likes her because he's a bit of a witch magmet (ha, not met Fleur yet!). Thanks for the review ~Carole~

In the Ashes by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 96 Reviews Past Featured Story

In her seventh year, Katie Bell knew what it was like to fear death. A year later, she learnt what it was like to see it in front of her. Nothing she had ever experienced had prepared her to deal with the aftermath of that. And then he came.

Caught in a whirlwind of Quidditch, heartbreak, and a rivalry, Katie struggled with her jumbled mess of feelings, one of which she hadn't expected but was growing certain that she could never live without.

Oh my freaking Salazar! This story WON TWO 2011 Quicksilver Quill Awards: Best Post-Hogwarts Story and Best Non-Canon Romance Story. *flail*

This (late) update was brought to you by the (belated) birthday of the ever-lovely Hannah / h_vic. She is a star and an excellent friend!

Hey have you been working on this story?? All of the ones I read have been on hiatus for a long time and I was just wondering if this one would get going again anytime soon because its my favorite. :)

Author's Response:

I'm working on it, but there's a lot of other things going on at the moment since I've recently taken over a group on teh beta boards, but I will work on finishing this story soon. I just want to get my other chaptered fic out of the way first, since it's only got a couple chapters left. But I already have teh next chapter outlined and just needs to be written.

Thanks for checking in!

man he is such a jerk! i am glad that he is around just because it presented the chance for oliver's ex to get the hell out of there haha but he is so mean! very creative of you to write him. and katie needs to stop worrying so much. her and oliver don't have to live together and she doesn't have to be so dependent on him but they can still be together because they are so cute!

i loveeee love love this story! how many chapters do you think it will be and when will it be updated?

Author's Response:

I'm shooting to update in the next couple weeks, but maybe three. I have a lot of fan fic on my plate at the moment, but I'm working on it. I *think* the story will shake out to be around 20 chapters, 24 max. It really did start out as a one-shot. Oops.

What I wanted for this story was for it to reflect how relationships actually work in reality. Yes, people jump into things too quickly, and yes, it ruins more things than it helps, but as people, we often find ourselves identifying what is worst for us and doing precisely that (I think Dumbledore said something of the like at some point).

Blake is a Class-A jerkoff. Every sport has a guy like that, the one who is talented but knows it far too well. One thing that most people don't realise about the sports world is that stuff happens behind the scenes like girlfriend drama, other guys taking their teammates' girlfriends or doing the nasty with their wives. It's nto much different than the rest of the world. I really wanted to bring some of the realistic aspects of the athletic culture into the story, as well. Since I can't write the actual gameplay worth a damn, at least I can do the drama parts, lol.

Thanks for dropping in, and I'm so happy you're enjoying it. :)

thanks for finally update! gotta be honest, had to reread some chapters to remember what was going on. i'm so happy katie and oliver are starting a regular relationship instead of a pseudomarriage like they had. but omg a murder! i feel like i'm watching a daytime soap! great update keep them coming!

Author's Response:

To be perfectly honest, I had to go back and reread the story, as well, but I knew I really wanted to put out an update. I really do love this story, and I want to give it more attention.

I agree about their relationship. Katie had never been in a real one, and Oliver had just got out of a bad one, so it was doomed to failure. Luckily, they love each other enough to stop and do it the right way. Let's just hope that the suspicion of Blake's murder doesn't fall where Katie's did. Eep!

It's Hard to Say I Do When I Don't by AshTonks

Rated: 1st-2nd Years • 5 Reviews
Summary: Everyone knows Luna and Neville are meant to be. But what happens when miscommunications and Hannah Abbott get in the way? Can a Gryffindor boy be intelligent enough to make the right choice? Can a Ravenclaw girl be brave enough to fight for her love?
Reviewer: ljlove Signed
Date: 04/28/11 Title: Chapter 1: It's Hard to Say I Do

cute :) you characterized everyone really well but i think your luna was a little too... normal. i always expected that her train of thought would be really strange. but i love neville he's adorable

Author's Response: Glad you liked it! Aren't they just too cute together!? And I know, she's less odd, but I think Luna's a little more sane than people give her credit for, ha ha. She believes a lot of odd things, but for good reasons. She is a Ravenclaw afterall. At this point in her life, I think she would have grown up a little, too. But that's just my interpretation.

this story was really interesting! its different reading something from peter's point of view because not many people write that way but i think you did a good job. you can really figure out how his life is and how he feels rather than just get mad at him for ruining everyone's lives... i thought the story was really great. the only thing i didn't like was that sirius accused remus of being the rat. in my head james or sirius would never do that but other than that it was really good!

Author's Response: Thank you! I was trying to do something different with this story. I always felt more bad for Peter than I hated him. Unfortunately, though, Sirius believing Remus was the spy is canon. :( I think it's a sign of just how bad things were. Thank you again for reviewing! <3Mere

Their Last Chance by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

i LOVE your ron in this. you nailed him so well!

Author's Response:

It's interesting that you'd bring that up, considering I hardly ever write him, and when I do, it's only because I have to. But that he comes across as real and right for the part makes me happy (and my pack of Ron-loving friends, as well, lol).

Thanks for reviewing. :D

This story was beautiful! I had totally forgotten that Angelina was with Fred so I had never really thought about it. When I first realized, I got mad that his own brother would do something like that but after reading this story, I realize he actually didn't do anything wrong and Fred probably would have wanted it that way. (I still feel like Angelina is a little wrong though haha.) This story was great, though, because it was all just George's scattered thoughts but at the same time you could always tell what was going on at that moment. Great story!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm so glad you were able to come to terms with Fred and Angelina's relationship through this fic.

when i saw the plotline of this story, i thought it was just going to be some dumb immature thing. but now i know it was really well thought out and a great metaphor. i'm glad i read it and really enjoyed it! great job!
