I was an idiot who avoided the hype of HP until the first movie came out. It wasn't until I read Goblet of Fire in preparation for the 4th movie, however, that I finally understood what made HP so great. Since then I've read every book numerous times, and hold the 5th movie and 7th novel dear as I had just learned I was pregnant when they were released. My daughter's middle name is Rose, and she is truly magical.
I've been busy writing several more fanfictions - I can't stop. Hopefully I'll be able to get them posted before the year's out. Here's a sneak peak of what I've been working on:
'Harry Potter and the Red Snitch'
Starts the day after the Battle of Hogwarts and follows Harry and Ginny over the next few years.
Completed except for some tweaking in the middle (anyone interested in helping?) Having trouble posting this story, however :(
'Dear Tom'
Exactly as it sounds - the 'conversations' Ginny Weasley and Tom Riddle had during her first year at Hogwarts (the Wizarding version of IMing).
This story is more challenging than I expected, so it might be awhile before it's finished.
'Draco's Diary'
What began as a song parody of 'What Was I Thinking?' has turned into book seven from Draco's POV.
I've written about ten chapters so far. Parts are easy while others are more difficult, so hopefully it won't be too bad.
'Harry and Ginevra'
Another song parody based on 'Jack and Diane' that needs a lot of work. What makes it worse is trying to decide if it should be a pre- or post-war song.
Enjoy reading but not writing? I'm open to more ideas :)
Happy readings!

If you haven’t read Harry Potter and The Girl Who Lived then I would strongly urge you to do so because if you don’t then this story probably won’t make any sense to you. Be helpful to writers by Reading and Reviewing!
The very last chapter of this fic has been reworked. Please re-read there's more about the kids in there! Also my author's notes on the final chapter have also been added. Ten part fic related to this going up shortly!!
The last paragraph really nailed our heroes.
Oh, what a wise,wise Dumbledore...err,author.
I had a dream about this chapter.
In this chapter and the previous I liked the personal touches you put into the family residences.
Enjoyed the paragraph about how the women all prepare for the ceremony. I've already read some chapters past this one and think it's great how you have a sense of humor about the strange things we females do.
I thought you did a fine job on the song.
Loved the poem - I would have married Ron, and we have nothing in common.

"The first step, my son, which one makes in the world, is the one on which depends the rest of our days." -VoltaireIt was fun seeing a different person's take on this "what if story." I think it was creative of you to change canon details to make the story your own, and even wording of similar conversations make sense to be different comsidering the alternate circumstance. I also liked the quotes at the beginning of each story.
What Is Right And What Is Easy by fizzingwizzbee

Summary: Harry has just left Privet Drive for the final time to return to The Burrow for the wedding. It does, however, appear that things are changing. Will it affect the journey the trio are preparing to take?
This story follows on directly from book six and follows the events of Harry, in what would have been his seventh year at Hogwarts.
I'm curious to know what you thought Dumbledore would have left Harry. Too bad you didn't have time to finish the story before the final book was released.
... And he Turned Around Snobbily and Strutted Away by Mind_Over_Matter
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 63]
Summary: "Strutting around the place with his friends and admirers..." ~Professor Snape, PoA
There may be some reason behind Snape's words.
That was fun. It's a great feeling when you have one of those days worthy of a strut or ten.
A Hope, From Helga by suckr4romance
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 3]
Summary: New Year's Challenge #2, "Dreams", written by suckr4romance of Hufflepuff House.
A two-part fan fiction telling the part of the founders' story--a crucial part. It is told from the point of view of Helga Hufflepuff, in tribute to my House.
Great mysterious beginning.
Some of the characters' speech reflected the earlier time period nicely. Also enjoyed the poem.
A Different Past by potterfan89
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 10]
Summary: An alternative first year fic that contemplates what Harry's life could have been like if James and Lily had survived. Starts from when they have to elect a Secret Keeper to the end of Harry's first year of Hogwarts.
I wish you had finished this story as I'm curious to various interpretations of what Harry's life would have been like had his parents survived.
Summary: The summer night before her wedding, Lily sits under a tree with James. A relaxing, happy one-shot about love and happiness.
... heaven forbid I ever forget how I love these things, how I love the intertwining of our hands and the way time has paused while we rest here before our lives take off and we stand to meet the world together.
"I love you, too!" by Afifa
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 19]
Summary: He had been lying down for a couple of minutes, not strong enough to get up just yet. When he had felt the spider’s icky eight legs on his skin, however, he sprang to his feet.
He regretted this action at once, as it had made him dizzy. His vision was hazy because he didn’t have his glasses on. James looked around the grass field and found his spectacles. They were cracked and needed to be fixed. For that, he needed his wand. Automatically, his hand went in his pocket. He fumbled around his pocket, but in vain; the wand was nowhere to be found. James was in the middle of nowhere and he didn’t have a wand. Perfect!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
James has to prove his love for Lily. For that, he has to pass a few tests. Read on what he has to do to win over Lily's heart.
I am Afifa of Hufflepuff participating for the Gauntlet Challenge- Round 5.
A fun little story. I liked the purposes of your tests.

The Accidental Godmother by Ruby Emeralds
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 245]
Summary: What if Harry had a Godmother? And she was a Muggle? This story starts at the beginning of Order of the Phoenix and will be as canon-compliant as possible. This fan fiction will lead to a romance between Severus and the Godmother, an original character.
Loved the part about Lucius calling Celie "Madam Snape" - couldn't stop laughing. Can't wait to read the sequel.
Author's Response: I am also glad that Celie was able to "dish it out" to Lucius! (He certainly deserved it!) I'm really happy that you enjoyed the epilogue and I hope that you like the sequel. Thanks for sending me a review! :)

This is the first AU story I've read that I can find plausible. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and can't wait to see what happens after Ch. 28.
I also enjoy your disclaimers - very clever.
Author's Response: Hello! Thank you for the wonderful compliment- that you find my story 'plausible,' despite its AU warning! :) I'm so happy that you are enjoying the story and I hope that you continue to like the upcoming chapters. Also, thanks for commenting on my disclaimers. You are the first to mention them! :)

Makes you wonder what would have happened if Severus HAD received his heart's desire.
Author's Response: He might have got Lily, for all we know :). Thanks for the review! --Nadia

Memento Mori by Liandrin

Summary:
I suspect Potter always imagined himself dying honourably in battle or saving some poor sod’s soul. He didn’t. And for that I was smugly appreciative.

You made me excited about the afterlife. I expected that Draco would have to deal with his guilt and regret, though, as punishment, so there was another surprise factor there.
Well written withe some great word voices and phrasings.
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm really glad that you liked it. I think Draco was punished in his own way. ^_~
