Hello all,

So, as you can see, I haven't written an awful lot of fanfiction. I started two separate stories, they both ended up being approximately 50 pages long, but upon closer inspection, I decided that they were total crap :) So, instead, I decided to try a few short stories:

The Seizing of the Toad (WIP)
The Greatest Act of Love (WIP)
Blue Wig (WIP)
The Return (COMLETED)

This is somewhat unrelated, but could somebody that reviews my story please tell me how to get sorted? I tried getting sorted, but when I entered my user name and password, the system rejected it.

My wand is Redwood with a Veela Hair core and it is 14 inches long. Though according to the Celtic birth charts, I have and Elder wand *Insert evil laugh here* :}

Aurors and Schoolgirls by Northumbrian
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 175]

Summary:
The Wizarding War is over.

Auror training has begun and Harry and Ron find that their lives are centred round London and the Ministry of Magic.

For Ginny and Hermione there is the inevitable return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Their lives are centred round schooling in Scotland.

Do these divided duos have different destinations and divergent destinies? When, where and how can these parted pairings meet? Opportunities are limited to holidays, Hogsmeade visits and school Quidditch matches.

Dear Northumbrian,

I have read the two stories leading up to this and they were BRILLIANT! Every single fic of yours that I have read I have been completely overjoyed with! Keep up the good work!

By the way, I'm writing my own fic and I was wondering if you have any advice to give.

I have just added you as my favorite author.

Sincerely,
AngelEJC

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review and the praise. I will keep writing and good luck with your own writing. The only advice I can give is:

1) If you arenít completely happy with what youíve written, no one else will be, either. It will do is not good enough.

2) Get a beta and listen too her/him.

3) Most criticism is well meant, you might not want to hear it, but you should listen and try to learn from it.
3a) Criticism which isnít well meant is easy to spot. It has never happened to me on this site.

Hello again!

I was beginning to think that you would never update, but I stand corrected. I only spotted two typo's in this chapter:

‘I love you to, Harry, this is stupid, why are we argue…’ she stopped mid sentence. ‘This is all because of what happened at the DA reunion, isn’t it? I was a little bit jealous of Cho then, Harry. But after all of our letters, and after yesterday, you can’t possibly think that I’m still jealous her, can you?’
-------------------------------------------------

Author's Response: Thanks, as I told the previous reviewer, until Ginny dragged Harry into her bedroom, this chapter simply wasnít working (I blame Molly, not me :-D ). Updates should be quicker (especially now that Tales of the Battle is finished). I think Iíve spotted the typoís but Iím not certain. -N-

WHOOPS! My review cut off before I was done! I just had another question: when the mods delete a story that you have submitted, does it disappear from your account area too? Thank you, by the way, for answering all my questions-I really appreciate it.

AngelEJC

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. The chapters: Waning Moon; Epiphany and Fall; Seamus Awake and Parents (all Tales of the Battle) also form part of Lavenderís story. She will appear in MIT: Muggle Interface Team and High Moon too, when I finish them. -N-

I'm sitting here, giggling, as I write this review. I finally understand where "The Mind of Arthur Weasley" comes from! I have enjoyed this little piece if fluff as it balances out some of the asngst-y stuff I've been reading most of time :) You always seem to write stories which make me feel all fuzzy in side!

Keep up the good work!

Rebekah

Author's Response: Rebekah
Thanks for the review.

I hope that ďArthurĒ stands alone as a story. I have a vague idea of what is happening in everyoneís love lives, and when. This helps me keep the background relationships in perspective and, I hope, allows me to mature the characters believably. Even Lavender matures eventually.

I wonít always be writing fuzzy stuff. The sequel to Aurors and Schoolgirls will be more angsty.

Very good (as usuall)! You rally do have a knack for writing Harry/Ginny; as a faithful reader, I can't be more pleased with your work. There is just something about this couple that draws everyone to them (yeah, I know, gag).

I refuse to say "once again" keep up the good work, thank you for updating regularly, and responding so promptly!

Rebekah (AngelEJC)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. JKR said ďAnd I feel that Ginny and Harry, they are total equals. They are worthy of each other.Ē They're her characters, so she should know. Who is going to disagree with that? Not me. -N-

Oh, Ron! He is really quite endearing when he's not being a complete ass! You write Hermione/Ron very well when you want to.

I did not spot any errors in this chapter, you usually are very thorough.

So, yeah, the mods spat out my story. No rejection letter, so I must have missed submissions... figures. I'm just the blonde idiot from California.

On that note, I shall bid you adieu. Keep up the good work, please update often, you know the drill.

Author's Response: Rebekah (AngelEJC) Thanks for the review. I agree with your asessment of Ron. Iím not thorough, I simply know when to get help. You should see the versions my beta readers get! :-D -N-

Iíve decided that I like Cissie, sheís just so sneaky.

I never even thought about the Slytherins after the Battle of Hogwarts, much less Milicent, Goyle, and Flint!

Thank you for your advice, it really has helped me a lot! I have gone back and rewritten all 50 pages of my fic into something more satisfactory. I currently have three betas (my best mate, my sister, and a fellow HP fanatic from my horse stable) and I'm going to send it in to the beta board also.

Thank you for your advice and keep the stories coming!

Wow. The final chapter. It's over, fin, ended! I can't believe it. Months and months of checking the Most Recent section religiously are over!

WOW.

You know, I never even thought of Madam Pince. This entire story has been an eye opener for me, most of the characters in these chapters never even crossed my mind. Thank you for not forgetting those characters in the sidelines, for, without these people, the magnificent world of Harry Potter that we love and cherish would be infinately less colorful.

I thought that you should be the first one to know (since you gave me that infinately useful advice a couple of months ago) that I have finshed my first fanfic. I just have to send it off to one more person, then I shall send it off to the mods and eagerly await its posting!

WOW.

Rebekah (AngelEJC)

Author's Response:
Rebekah

Thanks for all of your reviews. Some of these stories are very important for my future history. Certainly writing these has helped me define several minor characters for my other stories. Some canon characters (Terry, Lavender and Susan) and some original characters (Mark and Polly) will reappear frequently.

The minor characters are great to play with, many of them are little more than names.

Thanks again, and good luck with your writing.

Oooh, this is REALLY getting good! I've checking religiously to see if you have updated. Last chapter I thought the crap was really going to hit the fan, but you have managed to somewhat diffuse the situation somewhat thus far.

I finally managed to order Quidditch Through The Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on Amazon. They are in the mail as I write this *happy dance*! I have many friends of mine who can't wait to get their nuts on those books that I might have to barricade myself in my room to read them!

Keep up the good work!

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review. Iíve called the next chapter ďTea and BiscuitsĒ and it should be ready soon. What will Jacqui notice inside Drakeshaugh?

Rereading ďFantastic BeastsĒ led to me writing ďThe Girl from DRaCoMCĒ and ďE.C.C.E.N.T.R.I.C.Ē (and a lot of maths about the possible age of Rolf Scamander).

Mary is not going to know what hit her ;-) I can't wait 'til you post the next chapter! I have been waiting on tender hooks for you to post something, anything, all week! Thank you! As soon as I'm done with this review, I'm going to go check out M.I.T.

I don't know if you really care, but I read a Harry/Ginny fic the other day and thought that you might enjoy it. It's called "This Means War!" by Jeconais, it's on phoenixsong.net. Honestly, I thought that I was going to break a rib laughing! It's got some fluff, action, and humor all mixed in it at the most opportune moments. I understand if you really don't care, but let me know if you decide to read it!

Rebekah (AngelEJC)

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review.

Iím getting some interesting theories about what will happen next, though (unsurprisingly) no one expects Mary to do well. M.I.T. is nowhere near as fluffy as this. Iíve tried submitting to Phoenixsong but, unless itís changed, they donít accept new authors (and heven't for years), so I rarely visit.

ps Itís tenterhooks, not tender hooks. Donít worry, itís a mistake Iíve seen a lot of people make (I still get confused about discrete/discreet).

I'm sitting here still sniggering at "Mrs. Saville's" public verbal thrashing, for want of a better term. I still get a kick out of all the things that we pick up that Jaqui completely disregards. It still completely makes my day when I see that you have updated, I am DANGEROUSLY low on reading material.

I only noticed one error in this chapter:

Author's Response:
Thanks for the review.

My Ginny has more than a little Molly in her; public verbal thrashings are no problem. Jacqui is observant, but (fortunately) not too inquisitive. Harry and Ginny will be constantly trying to come up with explanations for something James has said. What about the werewolf murders?
