Hello people, my name is Athira.
I really suck at describing myself, so I'm gonna stick to the relevant facts.
I'm my class's own Harry Potter encyclopedia.
I wake up in the morning after dreaming about receiving the acceptance letter from Hogwarts.
I spend my boring Social Science lessons drawing things found in the Wizarding world. If I am lucky, I may be able to read HP books under my desk during the lectures.
My Patronus would be a Kingfisher.
I regard Prof. Severus Snape in high esteem, despite the flaws in his character.
But Harry's my No. 1 Gryffindor.
James/Lily is my OTP.
The Marauders and Fred & George are currently competing against each other for 'My Favorite Mischief 'n Mayhem Makers[MF3M' title.
My perfect Christmas gift would be the Marauder's Map. Atleast that would prove any non-magic believer that Hogwarts exist.
[Don't take me for a lunatic, I know it's all in the pages, but it'd be cool if it were real, wouldn't it?]
Nosebleed Noughats would be nice too, I could use it to fool my friends ;)
Okay, now I'm going to stop, or I'll start ranting. (Like I haven't)
May the force be with you,
Cheerio

This chapter is my favorite scenario among others: I love this!! though you could've given one more day of silent treatment to Lily, just to drive her over the edge ;-) And Harry really enjoyed it. This, I think is the most realistic version, though others are also just as great. I especially liked chap. 'Snapshot'. One can understand more clearly the reason behind James' actions and his feelings after Lily's rejection. It's time you see that Lily!

Summary: James Potter has pursued Lily Evans for six years, and for six years she's spurned him. Now, in their seventh year, Lily notices something that's been hiding inside her. When the two are locked in the ever-so-cliched locked room, can she work out her inner turmoil in enough time to speak her mind? One-shot MWPP seventh year, songfic to the song "I Don't Know How to Love Him," with a little creative interpretation and a different ending. W00t for Broadway musicals!

This is so romantic!

Summary: Meet James Potter, a clever, somewhat mischievous, popular student at Hogwarts. He takes every situation in stride and has everything under control, except one: Lily Evans, an amazingly beautiful and intelligent individual. He loves her more than anything, but she despises him more than anything, and a not-so-impressive run-in late at night with her leaves James thinking that chasing after Lily might be hopeless. Then, a series of events happen in James' life, which is topped off by an unexpected visitor that makes his sixth year too sweet to remember.

This story is so beautiful! *wipes tears from eyes* Among the J/L fics I've read till date (which are a lot, considering I am a hapless fan of the pair), this is the first one in which James isn't portrayed as a hopelessly lovesick puppy. In ur fic, James is character with a deep personality, and he matures in a believable fashion, not to mention Audrey's role.
*I'm going to talk about the locker room confrontation now*A declaration like that would be hard for someone to make to someone who he loves, but it would be even more hard for him to live with that. You managed to capture that without saying 'Lily Lily Lily' in his every sentence and thought.
Then detention in trophy room and Sirius' prank on Snape. Add up a slash from werewolf-remus, being nearly bitten, and a drunk Lily, that was the most exhausting day for James. Still.. *frowns here* I don't know how James managed to carry Lily all the way to Gryffindor tower, give Sirius what he deserved for being an idiotic jerk, AND drag himself to find Snape only to be found by Dumbledore (nice timing, although why he didn't think of it before beats me) and have a nice chit-chat. If he had to spend that much time in Madam Pomfrey's care and still feel sore, then he must have been really beat up. And why didn't his friends notice he was that much injured and tired? instead Sirius dueled him!
Christmas party- whoa! where did that come from?! One second he's relatively happy and enjoying, next he's hurt deely and acts without thinking, and the next thing we know, a carefully encoded secret romantic feelings (late warning:too many adjectives) comes to light. I couldn't make the connection to Sirius/Audrey till she explained everything! Well, Audrey handled James nicely (she's something else, isn't she?) and Sirius didn't make a fuss about it later.
Now about Lily's confession, I loved it! It was straight to the point and Lily addresses her faults (of course people, she has faults. In many fics, she is portrayed as an angel that descended from the sky or something like that). Her confession was the most realistic I've ever seen. And then after the battle, tears left my eyes after reading (imagining to hear more like it) Lily's words; it was the most emotional moment in the whole story, the most emotional thing in the vista of J/L fanfics, if I may say so.
I actually felt thankful to Severus (wow, I'm actually calling him by his first name, WTH?) for landing JP in detention; but I felt guilty when he said he wanted to forget. He had only a small amt of time to be happy with LE; and pity, he couldn't even show her what a great kisser he is.. destiny is cruel...
[Oh no, scratch that last comment. That was so embarassing! I got lost in my musings and...
But I'm not going to delete that, you should know what (alarming n' terrible;) ) influence you have on your readers; and I'm using the word destiny from the story's POV]
Reading the scene in Dumbledore's office and James deciding to protect her by not letting her know, I thought of a remark - like father like son. It seems as Harry inherited something else from his dad other than his looks and quidditch skills. That was heart wrenching, I say.
Lily's POV summing up everything was interesting, too. I was looking for any trace of her confession in it, and no, no trace of it.
Now I'm conflicted. On one hand I want a sequel to see how they inevitably end up together; on the other hand this fic had a finality to it, and I don't want to see James in more pain. (what am i saying? why am i too sentimental about this?)
I really love how you characterised the marauders. You did Peter justice, he acts like a real marauder. Opinion (of James) about Remus is right on the mark. Sirius and James are immature in the beginning; Sirius becomes okay as the story went (I say ok because I still haven't forgiven him for not being sorry about the WW accident) and James grows mature because of his contemplation about his character and love. Audrey is the most emotionally intelligent character i've ever read about. Lily's not too much girly, more like a gryffindor.
At first, in the initial chapters, some unnecessary descriptions were there. I skipped them when it was too much. But later on, the tendency to overdescribe decreased and I could enjoy the story more. I'd advice you to take care of that aspect of your writing as overdescription can sometimes put off the reader.
On a different note, I often find the word(?) 'site' where one would usually expect 'sight' and I don't understand if it's a spelling error or something else. Please clear this up.
Less canon events take place, but the story's so great, noone would be too eager to read about those points. But I think Sirius should've left his home by now, hmm..
I'm signing out now, or I won't stop ranting about you-know-what, so
bye,

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
I read almost all your stories and I love your naration! Siriusly Me is hilarious and you are a natural at humor! My parents were suspecting me of becoming unhinged when I was biting my knuckes to stifle my laughter and clutching my sides while staring at the laptop screen. They obviously don't know that a fantastic author named Helen is writing 'sirious' stories which are so fun to read!
Update soon,

Summary: "Some mistakes are too much fun to make just once."

After Lily Evans, Head Girl of Hogwarts, starts a food-fight with James Potter, Head Boy of Hogwarts, they are both given detention for the rest of the year, and are assigned a 'detention journal', which the staff say will help to settle their 'overwhelming and disturbing differences'. We have come across Lily's journal; her take on why the whole affair ever started, her intriguing relationship with one ‘supreme git of the galaxy’, the extents to which she will go for revenge and where it will lead her...

"And if for some unknown reason you come across this, Potter, and the paragraph above does not manage to penetrate your unusually thick head and convince you of my stupendous dislike of you, I hope the following sentence helps: I HATE YOU!"

Aargh.. I'm going to die from laughing so hard! The whole time I was biting at my pillow from laughing so hard as I didn't want my parents to think that I've gone insane and addicted to internet. No other fanfic has made me laugh this hard! Anyone thinking that lily's hatred for James is shallow would think again after reading this fic. Its damn hilarious!
*coughing to seriousness*
really sorry about that swearing, but I couldn't help it. After laughing your head off, it's a bit difficult to think straight.
You really know lily up and down.
Usually I review after reading the whole story, but this chapter pushed me off the edge of the plank. By the way, does Prof. McGonagall read what the head boy and girl are writing?

Author's Response: Hey, so this is a suuuper late response, sorry :/ But thank you so much for reading and reviewing! This really made me smile. And McGonagall promises them she won't but... who knows... maybe she'll make an exception at some point... Thanks for the review!

Oh wow this is such a beautiful story! Really sweet and romantic.. I don't think I've read such a great and realistic J/L one-shot, this is the best! The descriptions were really beautiful and relevent, the emotions were heart warming and the kisses were marvellous.
Some grammatical mistakes were there, but I was so caught up in the story, they didn't faze my enjoyment at all.. I have no idea how many times I read the story. Each time I felt as though I was reading it for the first time.
I read your other fics, but I loved this the most, and I must say, you're a fantastic writer. I love your writing! Write more...

Things Change by Gmariam
Rated: 3rd-5th Years [Reviews - 78]

Summary:

James Potter has changed: no longer an arrogant, irresponsible prankster, he has matured into a responsible Head Boy with tops marks in Transfiguration. Lily Evans has changed as well: normally studious and in control, she has lost focus as she struggles with Head Girl responsibilities and N.E.W.T level studies. An unexpected encounter in the corridors one weekend leads to several startling realizations, the least of which is that things have definitely changed between James Potter and Lily Evans.

This story was nominated for a 2010 QSQ and is now complete.

Hello again,
you know what, this story is so sweet, I loved it. I really liked James, in the 1st chapter I appretiate the way he dealed with his feelings for Lily, he's really mature there. For one thing he didn't have a smirk on his face. It is also nice to see Lily not conflicted about her attitude towards him in the past years and not letting it come before her feelings. Personally, I think its stupid for anyone to think about what the others would think about her if she went out with someone she constantly rejectected in the past years. I am really glad something like that isn't in the story. Lily is rather reasonable too.
My favourite chapter is that patronus chapter (I can't remember the chapter name, please forgive my temporary lapse of imagination and the rather boring way of referring to the chapter). It was a clever (genius, I say) way of expressing her feelings. I think Snape was that furious because his patronus's a doe too, and he had no chance with her.
I was rather sad when I reached the end; ' it's ending so soon ' was what I thinking, like I'll miss it. It shows how great (and sweet) the story is.
I thought lily would make james dueling snape a big deal, but I'm glad she didn't pursue the matter much. And ..woah! James was actually contemplating about leaving quidditch, his one most favourite thing, for Lily! Love IS blind!

I.Love.This.FIC!!
I read the prequel somedays before and I was filled with a warm pleasant feeling... [giggling] .. I can't even explain it with mere words..
James/Lily is my favourite category now thanks to you.
Today I read this fic. !! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!
Forgive my frequent usage of full stops, but I can't find any other way to express myself.
The seven chapters were 'E-ventful' and there was no break of flow between the incidents and exchanges(I love such stories). I really liked the way James and Lily are portrayed. Heck, I even feel terribly sorry for James and really happy that his day came to a happy end. And Peter isn't half-pathetic as the other fics show him as. Sirius is a charm but Lily's prank/revenge is sweeter. But I think Remus should've had some more time and witty lines with the marauders. I was o_O where Lily licked her lips like that in Potions. I couldn't imagine Lily doing that even in James' wildest dreams. Merlin, I shudder to imagine what would happen if Sirius had given those spiked chocolates to her instead of James. I understood it's the RoR at the very mention of that painting.
I didn't know arithmancy is such a great subject. I had always thought it was about number-crunching. How come Hermione never mentioned this? How could JKR do this to Potterverse? (pardon)
I loved every bit of conversation in this fic. To name one would be an injustice to the other.
BTW, the last bit of the summary was a tiny bit misleading. I almost thought she would never forgive him ever. But that's something that had attracted me to read the story ASAP!

Looking what I have written above, I don't think I have that flow of words, obviously. Anyway, fantastic fic.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you so much for this amazing review! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. It was quite fun to write, I'll admit. James/Lily is definitely my favorite category so I'm glad I've converted another. ;) There is just so much to work with. I'm glad you enjoyed everything I crammed in here.
