UPDATE February '08: I have changed the chapter names of some of the 'Defied' chapters, to make this fit and to make it more plausible, as I see the 'thrice defying' of Voldemort as happening when James and Lily are part of the Order of the Phoenix.
UPDATE 20th September: I have altered my facts in the chapter 'Once Defied' as I made mistakes in the ages of James and Lily. It didn't matter so much in this chapter but had annoying repercusions for future chapters. It should all now be correct.

Summary:

Then, perhaps more troubling, there is Esther Collins, the fifth year who has vanished without a trace. Furthermore, one of Lily’s best friends, Izza, is seeing a mystery boy and Lily is determined to know who.
Then there is the threat of war, backstabbing friends and NEWT’s. A disinherited and emotionally battered Sirius Black is the source of heartache for his friends, except perhaps Izza, who, with her own terrifying family, might just understand him. Lily’s closest male friend, Remus Lupin, is hiding a dangerous secret from her. Peter’s girlfriend is screwing him over, and the whole time Lily is struggling to stop the people she loves from coming apart at the seams.
i'm really liking this story, especially how you've done the characters; they are more real than the way other stories have them, where they all seem kind of fairytale, with the whole hate - like - love scenario between james and lily. this seems much more realistic for seventeen/eighteen year olds, and it's much better. I particularly like how you depict peter - i like how you see him as a good friend to them all, not just a future murderer, as the way i see it, they all had to have been good enough friends for lily, james and sirius to trust him. keep up the good work :) x

It makes me insanely happy to know you think so highly of this story, and I'm glad I've managed to make it seem real and easy to relate to thus far. It really annoys me when authors leave Peter. He was one of them too - they trusted him enough to make him their Secret Keeper! That has to come from somewhere. Thank you so much for this gorgeous review and I hope you enjoy the next chapter!

This is rather good :D. Lily's and James' relationship was always one which I wished had been more developed for the reader in the hp novels, and i am now hooked on this. When will the next chapter be out?
