Love it :-) I think it is a realistic idea of why Sirius suspected Remus and why he suddenly felt the need to switch secret keepers.
You are portraying Peter in a better light. He is the traitor, but it sounds here like he really is trying to keep his friends safe, by wanting to back out of beeing the secret keeper :-)
