Summary: Lily Evans never really questioned what she was told. She was told that she had everything, that others wanted to be her. She was told that she perfect. She never had a reason not to believe them all -- until it all falls apart.
This is for 'The Spring Challenge: To Laugh or Cry'. I am Kask of Slytherin.
Love it! Lily was believable, hating her perfection while others would kill for it.
James was good, striking out at her with the gum to show that even she wasn't perfect.
Summary: They are all talented, some more than others. Some play Quidditch. Others are known for their brilliance in academics. They are the Marauders and a group that has lain in the shadows up to now, called the Lady Firebrands, known for their hot tempers and rather subdued practical jokes.
Romance will bloom.
Rivalries will blossom.
The author will try to stop using so many bad plant puns.
The story of Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs' NEWT years will be told.
These are the Amphibious Lizards.
Sooo good, please update!
Summary: The course of true love never did run smooth. James' infatuation with Lily is driving him–and his friends–insane! Peter accuses the fiery redhead of being cold-hearted, Remus suggests growing-up and Sirius won't stop bickering with Tabitha while coming up with plans that turn out for worse! Add to that romantic tribulations of their own, lycanthropy and the imminent rise of the dark arts and you ought to find more than just a bit of mischief and mayhem.
Follow Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs through their last two years at Hogwarts, were merlin-knows what they will get up to! Ragging hormones, danger, grief and love are one of the few things they'll face and, of course, let's not forget about pranks. After all, that's why the girls at Hogwarts sigh, the teachers swear and Dumbledore just chuckles.
CHAPTER THREE IN THE QUEUE, Excerpt:
“As I was saying,” Lily continued, “Professor Goone...well, he hasn’t moved for the last twenty minutes, not even with all this noise.”
Peter breathed in, heavily. “You don’t think he’s dead, do you?”
“Shouldn’t we...I don’t know, try to wake him up?” she suggested, ignoring Peter’s remark.
“Are you mad?” exclaimed Sirius. “Why would you do that? He’s having a jolly good time sleeping; we’re having a jolly good time talking. Everybody wins.”
Lily didn’t even spare a glance at Sirius; instead she kept her eyes focussed on Remus. “So, what do you think?” she asked him.
Remus shrugged. “I’m not sure–wouldn’t he feel embarrassed that we caught him sleeping in class if we wake him up?”
“Right,” said Sirius. “We’d hurt his feelings!”
Good, a bit confused on surnames, but that might just be me ;)
Summary: On a fine day during the school summer holidays two Hogwarts students meet in a small market town in the north of England.
This is Northumbrian of Ravenclaw writing for the Madam Pomfrey One-Shot Triathlon - Round Three: Original Characters, Prompt 2 (summer holidays).
This is really good, I really enjoyed it! I come from Northumberland too ;) Whenever I see this story title, I think of 'Summer of '69', the song, and I always try to fit '97 into those lyrics whenever I see this.
So, anyway, carry on writing!
Thanks for the review
Making Colin and Fenella Durham Dales folk seemed like a good idea at the time. I like using real places (like Barnard Castle). I’ve set another story (Strangers at Drakeshaugh) in Northumberland rather than Durham, Coquetdale to be precise. If you’ve never been, you should walk to the Drakestone.-N-
Summary: James Potter is Head Boy and Gryffindor Quidditch captain in his seventh year at Hogwarts. He has three best friends and his life seems perfect--except that Lily Evans, the only girl he's ever loved, can't stand him.
Lily Evans is Head Girl and top of their class. She's always been disgusted by James' arrogance, yet she can't seem to stop blushing when he's around.
As their Head Boy and Girl duties bring them together, can James find a way to win Lily's love?
A Different Kind of Magic has been nominated for the 2011 Quicksilver Quills: Best Canon Romance. Thank you!
I quite literally squealed when I saw this had been updated! I have it favourited (is that a word?!) on my laptop, and I check it every two days.

Sailing Girl xxx
Author's Response: Thank you so much! This review just made my day! :) I've just started chapter five. Schoolwork always gets in the way of my writing, unfortunately, but hopefully I'll finish the chapter soon in a way that I'm satisfied with.
Two words : Love.It!
Please update! ;)
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm honestly thrilled that people love the story so far. :)
Summary: Lia Thompson is a sixteen-year-old Australian girl about to enter her fifth year at The Glenvale College of Magical Arts. But the Wizarding World is at war, and although Lia may think she's far away from trouble, she's about to learn exactly how wrong she is.
Sooo good ;)
Thanks for mentioning me in the author's notes :D
Looking forward to the next chapter, its gonna be great, people.
Summary: One year that will change everything. Two relationships that are destined to happen. Three words that are bound to impact more than one person. Four boys that are determined to make their last year at Hogwarts as memorable and legendary as possible. Five pranks that will drive Severus Snape to do something he only ever dreamed about. Six years that James Potter has been chasing after a certain red-headed witch, will this finally be the lucky year? It’s going to be one hell of a seventh year for the Marauders.
Love it, please carry on!
Author's Response: Thanks for the review, I'm so glad you like it! I'll probably be submitting the next chapter sometime this week, so hopefully it won't take too long to be posted.
Summary: A lonely figure walks down the street, long auburn hair trailing behind her in the blustery wind. She pulls a red wool coat snug around her, gloved hands tucked into pockets as she wanders the sidewalk, glancing up at the shop fronts. She is young, but her face is lined with sadness, as if searching for something she has lost. Her green eyes long for answers.
Across the way a young man stops and stares at the woman in the red coat, hardly daring to believe it might be her. And yet as she turns and walks back up the street, he knows it is, and his heart stops beating for a moment. He blinks, just to see if she will disappear from his life once more, like she did over a year ago.
This fic is brilliant! I don't usually read chaptered fics with only a few chapters, as I thought they would have a poor storyline, but this has really opened my eyes!
You deserve a prize for this one, definately!
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I really prefer shorter stories myself, so I'm glad I was able to convince you with this one, lol. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and really appreciate the review! ~Gina :)
