I am curious as to why Lily hasn't told James yet that she is the Head Girl. I wonder why Leda quit writing Peter? I am looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks for writing!

I was nervous about what would happen in this next chapter - unnecessarily as it turns out. It is really good. I love your Sirius (again!) - so perceptive and a good friend to James, Peter, Lily and Remus. Lily deserves this time of anxious waiting but reading about James with Leda drives me crazy! Thanks for writing!

Hooray - I can love James again! He's back to himself and didn't abandon Remus at the full moon.

I read this chapter and laughed out loud (with Sirius) at Peter's "condition." Thanks for a great new chapter!

Leda is such a sneaky jerk - maybe she should have been Slytherin? I was Siriusly (sorry!) disappointed that Lily didn't tell her off on the pitch. I really liked Sirius' appearance on the pitch as a dog. I thought Jinx' uses as an "owl" was cute. I am looking forward to more information about the Marauders working on the map. Thank you for updating!

I am curious about the chapter title? I am sooo happy that Leda is gone and James chose his friends over her - always! The bunny slippers were a really funny detail. Thank you for an awesome new chapter!

Author's Response: oh, it's a song! a lot of my chapter titles are, actually :) and thank you!

Leda is just awful! Too bad Sirius didn;t just bite her. James is way too nice to her. She needs to back off - maybe Lily should be the one to tell her? Thanks for the update - I look forward to the next one!

Author's Response: Thanks! the new one's in queue now, should be up soon :)

Great new chapter - I didn't anticipate a fight between James andd Sirius. As usual I love your Sirius and hate Leda. I am glad that Mary has some empathy for Leda because I don't. I am really surprised that James doesn't feel bad about Peter - He is being rather selfish. Really, Leda isn't "not that bad" - ugh! I would not like to be described that way! Will we get to see the results of the wartcap powder? Thank you so much for writing! I hope you did well on your exams!

Could you hear me moaning over the internet? Poor James! Could Lily be any more unsure about her feelings and talking herself into doing the wrong thing? What will Peter do when he finds out? I despise Leda but find it diffucult to blame James for enjoying some attention after all Lily's rejection. This is a great story even if I am sad about the direction this chapter took. Thank you for writing.

Author's Response: Oh thanks so much for saying that! It just kinda seemed like something James would do, being who he is...and it just kind of had to happen. It was a little painful writing it, too! But you know it's never been easy for these two :P Next chapter should be up soon!

Who are the new tricksters? I wonder. Sirius is much more perceptive in your story than he is often pertrayed in other stories - I like it. Thank you for another great chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks! I feel like he has to be sort of perceptive--just a lot of hints we get in the books about how protective he was over Lily and James, and how involved in the Order he was...enough that he knew there was a traitor, but he didn't realize it was Peter. So I always just sort of saw him as being boisterous and ridiculous, but I also think that he's really pragmatic and observant...just with a blind spot where his friends come in. That was a lot of info. Needless to say, I love Sirius. I'm glad you're enjoying it!

I really enjoyed Trickster. The end was funny with Sirius being so surprised when Lily kissed James before she left the train station. I am surprised she hasn't made much progress over the summer figuring out how she feels about him - it will make for an interesting read. Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Haha she'll get there! I promise! She's just stubborn. Thanks for reading, I'm glad you're enjoying :)

Okay - so I don't hate James quite as much (at least he didn't sleep with Leda.) - but as Remus points out he is not acting like the James Potter he knows and likes. Poor Peter - and I don't say that often - James has indeed violated an important friendship rule.

I continue your take on Sirius - he is so nice to offer Lily some company when everyone is at the Quidditch match. I love the idea of Sirius and Lily tracking down the suspected dangerous pronksters. The whole bludger in the Great Hall scene was surprising and well described.

My favorite line in the chapter was Peter's - "Who exactly are we rooting for again? The team with James, Leda and that Annabelle girl or the team with Sirius' scary younger brother?" Thank you so much for this chapter!

Author's Response: aww he wouldn't. he's just being a stubborn prat. he'll get over it ;) and thanks! i love sirius, he's so much fun to write..and what good is all this estrangement if lily doesn't use it to get closer to other people? thanks for reading, though, and all your reviews. the next chapter is in queue now!

Well Worth The Trouble by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: When James becomes the victim of Sirius's Valentine's Day prank, Lily is forced to watch over him and keep him out of trouble for the evening. Yet even after a rather long night, she can't help but wonder if perhaps it had been worth it after all.

This was fun! The end surprised me (in a good way) - you didn't put James and Lily together as you easily could have. I was surprised that James let the kiss go and didn't pursue it any further. Will there be a sequel?

I have enjoyed all of your work that I have read - thank you for sharing!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I had SO much fun writing this story, so I'm glad you found it fun to read. And I love being able to surprise someone with the ending. Imagine - a J/L story where they don't get together! Shocking! Well, it is set during sixth year and according to canon (as per Sirius and Remus in OotP, I believe) James and Lily didn't start going out until seventh year. But I couldn't resist a hint there with that second kiss. ;) As for a sequel...well, I've started one but it's not coming as easily as the first. So maybe by this Valentine's Day I'll have something. Thank you so much for reading these stories, it is so great to know someone is reading them and enjoying them! ~Gina :)

Friendly Competition by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: When the Halloween Hogsmeade weekend is canceled due to the war, James Potter proposes a flying race around the grounds as a way for the students to interact and keep up their spirits. He is surprised when Lily Evans not only enters, but plans on winning. A spirited wager is made, but the race turns darker than anyone imagined, with the outcome quite unexpected.

Wow - this finished so differently from what I imagined - but so much better! I wonder who would have won a race between James and Lily (James, likely but Lily seems mighty competitive in this story). It seems she was already softening toward James and didn't mind which one of them won the bet. Thanks for adding the Postscript - it finishes the story. We get to see the consequences of the misdeeds that happened in the race. Thank you for a fun, satisfying story.

Author's Response: Hi there! Thanks for the review, I'm glad it not only surprised you a bit, but that you still liked it. I think James would win, but if I were to write something like that, I could see him either throwing the race to let her win, or her actually cheating a bit to beat him, lol. Thanks again for reading and reviewing this story. I have enjoyed reading your reviews and really appreciate your kind words! ~Gina :)

Yeah - more James/Lily! James is so put out by Lily joining his race - I hope she does well! I love how the other Marauders give James grief over Lily. I look forward to reading what happens next. Thank you!

Author's Response: No, thank YOU! :) I really appreciate you stopping to read my stories and always leaving such a nice review. I'm glad you enjoyed this one and really hope you enjoy the rest of it! Thanks again! ~Gina :)

Date: 10/10/10 Title: Chapter 2: Part Two: Get Set...

Part 2 up already-yeah! It was all fun. Lily's tutor wants to be more than a tutor. James has a revenge student who also wants more from him than flying lessons. Nasty Slytherins round out the chapter. I like James and Lily's comeraderie towards the end. His request to see her hex another guy was funny. I was surprised by his confusion with how to handle Carin at the end of the chapter-something else for his friends to tease him about perhaps? Thanks for a fun chapter!

Author's Response: Hi there! Thanks for another lovely review! I actually wrote this back in July, so it won't be long until I put up the last part. I'm glad you enjoyed part two. I'd like to think that even James Potter might be a little confused with someone like Carin O'Connell and her game. He's not perfect, after all (even if we want to think he was, lol) Plus he's distracted, isn't he? ;) I hope you like how it ends, thanks again for reading and leaving such a nice review! ~Gina :)

As Luck Would Have It by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Lily Evans is having a bad day. When she decides to take a sip of Felix Felicis, things turn out quite different than she anticipates--for both her and James Potter.

Date: 01/02/11 Title: Chapter 1: As Luck Would Have It

I have now read this story three or four times and like it better each time. It is really fun to read a different Lily. She goes and comes from Hogsmeade multiple times and seems so indecisive, jealous and moody. I love the use of the "less effective(?) " Felix potion. James seems a cluless bystander in Lily's mental battle for him. My favorite line was "Hell, it was over the minute you grabbed my hand." He was never over her! Thank you for a fun reflective complex story!

Author's Response: I seem to say this a lot, but I did have my doubts about this story and sat on it for quite a while. I felt like it worked but that maybe I didn't write it to work, if that made sense. There might still be something left behind in my head. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed it, though, because I really did want to write something a bit different for my favorite couple. Thanks so much for the review, I always look forward to them and truly appreciate your kind words! ~Gina :)

James is now Head Boy and has become alarmingly responsible, leaving Sirius and Remus with the choice of going home with Peter or behaving.

How sweet - I loved the story! Teddy is one of my favorite characters and I, too, think he would be a great Father Christmas. I didn't notice who the author was until I read the reviews and I should have guessed it was by one of my favorite authors because it was soooo good1 Thank you for writing!

Author's Response: You are welcome, and thank YOU for the review! I'm glad you liked this. I haven't written Teddy very much at all but somehow this story just seemed like HIS story. I really appreciate all your reviews - thanks again for reading! ~Gina :)

Hate. Anger. Happiness. Rage. Love. Contentment. Understanding. Emptiness. Loneliness. Jealousy. Despair. Numb. Cheerful.

Every day Lily Evans felt everything. She was on an emotional roller coaster full of heart-plummeting drops, stomach-losing loops, and nerve-racking climbs. How she managed to keep herself together she never quite understood.

One day, it all becomes too much and everything comes undone.

Nice start! I like your Lily and James. Lily's feelings and emotions feel real - she's understandably worried about the future and regretful about her past dealings with James. Thank you for writing and I look forward to amother update!
