Hi, I'm Oddish, I'm fortysomething, and I'm into Pokemon and Harry Potter. I write both hardcore parodies and serious fics. Give me a read.
The Daughter of Light by Magical Maeve
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 587]
Summary: An Irish witch languishes in the darkness of her family home, confined by her father and circumstances. What will it take to bring her out of this exile? The chance to return to Hogwarts? The opportunity to participate in the fight against Voldemort and his Death Eaters? Or will it be Severus Snape, a man she did not expect to see again in her lifetime?
This is canon compliant to OoTP but written pre-HBP.
Reviews and constructive criticism are most welcome, and thanks go to Ashwinder who kindly beta read the chapters for me. :-)
I really like this story a lot. I always like to see speculation about the past an inner life of Severus Snape, the HP series's most complex character. Looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Severus is giving me problems at the moment (doesn't he always!) in that I want to introduce the next part of the story but I think it's important that the relationship between him and Maeve is explored initially to give some basis for what happens later. I wanted him to have more of the limelight in this story and this is taking time at the beginning which may make the story seem a little slow. It will speed up. :-)

Utterly sick, thoroughly demented, and HOWLINGLY funny. You are a writer after my own heart!

Summary:
Good beginning. Intriguing portrait of Cho Chang, an oft-overlooked character.
Midnight Chills by Narcissa
Rated: Professors [Reviews - 67]
Summary: Severus Snape had just suffered the most humiliating moment of his life... or had he? The nickname Harry should have seen, worse than Snivellus. (language warning!)
Ok... that was deeply disturbing. But I liked it anyway!

Howlingly funny! The only thing wrong was that it was too short. As Harry would have said, Moooooooooooooooo-re!
Caffeine High by Chaos Illusion
Rated: [Reviews - 103]
Summary: Various HP characters get drunk or high on sugar/caffeine/whatever (as long as it's legal!). Insanity follows. No one's in character. Very random.
That was weird and disturbing, but pretty funny. I'm glad I'm not the only PPP fan among us.
Author's Response: Yes, most of the people I asked to proof-read it thought it was weird and disturbing, too. And unfortunately, none of them were PPP fans...
The Last Battle by Leora V
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 24]
Summary: The time has come for Lord Voldemort and his archenemy Harry Potter to duel to the death. But things don't quite turn out as planned.
SPLUTCH! No more Voldie! Most outstanding!
Swapping with Snape by Loz
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 401]
Summary: Thanks to an ingenious plan of Dumbledore's, Severus Snape and Harry Potter swap bodies. They're doing this to fight Voldemort.
Dumbledore says it's the only way Harry can survive. But can Snape get over the trials and tribulations of being a teenager again, and can Harry battle unruly Potions students and greasy black hair?
In short - will either of them survive?
The latest chapter is shown from Snape's point of view.
Awesome concept! Don't you dare stop now, this is going to be SO funny.
Hmmm... maybe Snape should consider wearing a doo-rag while brewing potions. Or maybe a hairnet. Great story idea. Keep going.
Quirrell by The Savant
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 24]
Summary: What did Quirell do that infamous day in Book 1? My first story, please read and review.
Cool concept, and I liked the exchanges between Quirrel and Voldie's face.
Author's Response: Really? Thanks.
Author's Response: Really? Thanks.
Sorting Songs, a History (with Two Examples) by Textualsphinx
Rated: 1st-2nd Years [Reviews - 17]
Summary: Who really writes the Sorting Songs? A literary history of magical song-writing with not one but two authentic examples from recent decades. They rhyme and they scan.
An inspired effort. Wonderful rhyme and attention to detail (like the hat's zipper gleaming in the candlelight). And I can just imagine the terrified firsties swarming out of the hall screaming as the Hat did its "Mac the Knife" song.
