Padfoot: Well, I'm me! Strong, handsome, compassionate, loving, caring, kind at heart-"
Prongs: "Psh, whatever. You're a lazy, arrogant, cheating, lying, evil, twisted little-"
Padfoot: "Hey! A little respect. After all I did just help you impress Evans."
Prongs: "What are you talking about?"
Padfoot: "At dinner. Don't you remember? I stopped you from throwing that grape at Snape."
Prongs: "You threw that grape which hit his goblet and spilled pumpkin juice all over him. Then you blamed me in front of Lily!"
Padfoot: "Oh... well it's the thought that counts!"
Prongs: "WHAT THOUGHT?"
Lily: "What are you two doing?"
Padfoot: "Ah, Lily, Prongs was just talking about you."
Lily: "Oh really, James? Thinking of throwing more grapes at my friend?"
Prongs: "It was Padfoot!"
Padfoot: "I have no idea what you're talking about."
Lily: "You two are so immature. What's that you're holding?"
Padfoot: "It's a tape recorder."
Lily: "What? Those aren't suppose to work here!"
Prongs: "Padfoot bewitched it. It's a long story."
Lily: "Well hand it over. They aren't aloud."
Padfoot: "That's not a rule!"
Lily: "Oh really? Want to go ask McGonagall? While we're there we can unmask the real grape-thrower."
Padfoot: "You're mental."
Lily tries to grab the recorder.
Padfoot: "Get away you mental witch!"
Lily: "You aren't aloud to have that! Hand it over!"
Padfoot: "Never! You can take it from my cold, dead hands!"
Prongs: "Let it go, Padfoot!"
Prongs: "Padfoot, you just stunned her!"
Padfoot: "She was asking for it!"
Prongs: "She's going to kill us when she's back to normal."
Padfoot: "I think it's time for us to get up to the dorm."
Prongs: "Yeah, it's been a long day."
Padfoot: "Night, Evans!"
Summary: It is June 1976 and The Marauders are at the top of their game. From the outside they look to have everything. But appearances, as the saying goes, can be deceptive.
James is discovering that not everything in life is his for the taking. Sirius knows he will have to defy his formidable family. Remus lives in constant fear of his life beyond Hogwarts. As for Peter... Well, Peter is struggling to live up to his friends.
The ties of friendship are strong, but war is raging and with a dark power rising those ties will inevitably fray.
Added to the mix is an adversary called Severus Snape, some lost House Points, a prank or two and a whole lot of Lily.
This is a Marauder tale.
This is a story of what made them special.
This is a story of why it started to go wrong for The Lions of Gryffindor.
OH MY GOOD GODRIC! Lions of Gryffindor won the 2009 QSQ for Best Marauders' Era Story. Amazed and incredibly grateful to those who nominated, judged and have beta'd this fic. THANK YOU.

Some stories go up, and some stories are gone.
Stories of her own? Why, she has plenty!
Fewer than one-hundred, but far more than twenty.
Awe no more chapters for now? This is the best fiction I've read. Plus I love the Marauder Era fictions. I hope James hexs that hit Rich. I'd be jealous too if I was after Lily.
Author's Response: There's another chapter on its way, very shortly, I promise. Glad you like the story ~Carole~
Summary: After the disastrous events of the end of the Marauder's fifth year, a fuming Lily Evans decides that that arrogant James Potter and his friends need a taste of their own medicine. The straight-laced Prefect suddenly finds herself pranking her class's trickiest boys--and maybe even enjoying it. Coupled with a series of mysterious apology letters that Lily has begun receiving, it's bound to be an interesting year.

Summary: “Guilt brings people together. It’s a takes one to know one type thing.”
James Potter has always been a spoiled, arrogant, lazy show-off. When he enters his final year at Hogwarts School, he’s Head Boy . . . and he’s still a spoiled, arrogant, lazy, show-off. But because of that terrible summer, he’s also guilt-ridden.
Lily Evans has always been a self-righteous, impatient, temperamental know-it-all. When she begins her last year at Hogwarts, she’s Head Girl . . . and still a self-righteous, impatient, temperamental know-it-all. But the first night back — and the murder that takes the entire school by surprise — leave her guilt-ridden as well.
With the darkness that’s surrounding the Wizarding world slowly seeping, at long last, onto the grounds of Hogwarts and into the lives of James Potter and Lily Evans, what comes next?
Very good. When we mostly see the Marauders, it seems like everything is great. We forget that Voldemort is gaining power and killing. You did a very good job capturing the darkness of their era in this chapter.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked the darker edge.
Way too perverted
Author's Response: I'm sorry you feel that way! :(
