Summary: Lily Evans finds herself disappointed when James Potter begins dating a new student during seventh year. A casual conversation about how to deal with it leads to unexpected consequences for her…and Sirius Black.
Awww! Really cute fic. Nice work! :)
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I really appreciate the review - thanks!! ~Gina :)
It is Ginny’s twentieth birthday, and she wants to play a game with Harry.
Awwww! This fic is really funny, and your Harry and Ginny are adorable. :)
Author's Response: Thanks, I’m glad that I could make you laugh. -N-
Summary: A revealing tale starring everyone's favorite ginger and brunette pair. It's been a year since the defeat of Voldemort, but things are far from over. After a year of absence, Ron and Hermione are back again at Shell Cottage to help Fleur prepare the house for her baby shower. Needless to say, old memories come to the forefront and painful discoveries are made. Hearts are broken and healed again.
Awww! Perfect way to end it. You should definitely write more R/Hr fics. Great job! :)
Author's Response: yay, thanks for the compliment, much appreciated. :D
Great story so far! But are Ron and Hermione actually an item yet or just friends? They are are definitely my favorite pair in all of HP. Update soon! :)
Author's Response: yes, they definitely are an item at this point, but heres how i see it: between them, its very obvious that they are "together" together, but to everyone else around them it doesnt seem that obvious. does that make sense? they're relationship was always...hmmm....let's say "unique." so their version of a couple might be a bit different than other peoples' version of a couple. but keep in mind that this is only my personal version of things, i am no jk rowling. i know right? they always have been my fav pair too. (sighs happily.) i can't help it. :D anyway, thanks for the review, i really appreciate it. :)
Summary: It was Christmas time at Hogwarts once again, and the Gryffindor common room looked particularly festive. There was a huge Christmas tree in the corner, the tinsel glittering in the glow of the fire place. Red and gold garlands were hung around the room, as well as several sprigs of mistletoe. Reddest of all though, was Hermione’s face.
Awww! This story's really cute. Update soon! :)
Summary: Rose Weasley didn't mean to be different. She didn't intend to stand out in her family. She didn't expect to be Sorted... into Slytherin.
Great chapter! It's awesome that Rose did find friends she could relate to and told Aurelia off. I think that was the best bit of this chapter, when Rose calls her a bitch. It totally shows her kick butt Weasley side which is so fun to read. Update soon! (;
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm actually really glad that's a bit of the chapter that resonated with you, because it'll be important later. Let's just say that Rose-- and the reader-- was the only person in that room who didn't recognize some deep impli... oh, but now *I'm* being "shockingly indiscreet." ;) Rose Weasley: Proving you don't have to be a Gryffindor to kick butt and take names since 2017! :-D
OMG! I need to know Ron and Hermione's reactions to Rose being in Slytherin. I feel so bad for Rose not getting the chance to talk to Al :( They need to have some kind of "hey what's up" moment soon. Please, please, please update soon! ;)
Wow!! I think this is the beginning of a great fic. Your Rose is perfect, and I can totally feel for her after being put in Slytherin. Nice job, update soon! ;)
Author's Response: Thanks!! The thing that's so great-- and also so scary-- about writing Harry Potter Next Gen fic is that you actually DO have to develop characters that readers care about. Usually fanfiction is great practice for plotting, telling a story well, finding your "voice" as a writer, and so on. But you're writing about characters that another author has already developed and that the reader presumably already cares about, if they're reading fanfic about them! The best you can do is keep everyone in-character and maybe add a perspective or insight into the character that fits with what's already established but still introduces SOMETHING new... but the fanfic writer isn't creating a whole new person from scratch. But with HP Next Gen fic, all of that changes! Yes, JK Rowling has given a few hints about some of the kids' personalities, but only a few and nothing concrete. If you want to write about the Next Gen kids, you have to develop their personalities and characterizations, and if you want anyone to read about the Next Gen kids you create, you have to make them people that readers are interested in, people readers feel for. It's the only way I've encountered so far that you can write fanfiction about characters that feel like they belong to you; but it's also a litmus test for whether or not you're capable of creating characters that readers care about. As I said: That's why it's great, and that's why it's scary. So hearing that my Rose is "perfect" and that you feel for her makes me feel awesome. Thank you so much for the feedback. And, wow, I just wrote a really long reply to a pretty short review. Sorry about that! And don't worry, Chapter 2 is already in the queue waiting to be approved. I have up through Chapter 6 written already, so you can expect regular updates. :)
Summary: On her first night of patrol, Molly Weasley was armed with the basic rules of how to be a prefect, but one guideline had been woefully omitted from the list: what to do when a handsome delinquent robbed her of her ability to think.
Great fic! The couple was very different, but they were really fun to read. Nice job! :)
Randomness is good for the soul, and I like rarepairs. I was thinking of ridiculous scenarios with a friend, and this pairing came up. We were both intrigued, and I took it as a challenge to keep it fresh. :)
Thanks for reading and reviewing!
It was the worst news a father could receive: his son was marrying his worst enemy's daughter.
But for Draco Malfoy, being in the role of the reasonable parent was in itself a debacle as he tried to make the best of a bad situation. But when circumstances forced him to spend more time than he ever cared to with the most irritating Mudblood on the planet, he constantly questioned his sanity, as well as that of his son.
However, Draco might have come to realise that things change, as well as people. Is Hermione Granger Weasley the mad bint he remembered, or were they both a little different this time around?
This story has been nominated for a 2011 Quicksilver Quill Award: Best Non-Canon Romance.
This story has also been nominated for a 2014 Quicksilver Quill Award: Best Humour Story.
Great story so far! I love it. It has been so long since I've read HP fanfiction and this was a great way to get back. Hope you update soon ;)
Oh, and happy birthday Elene!
Heee, I tried my best to combine Elene's two favourite things in Dramione and ScoLily, and this is what came out. I'm glad you like it, and I hope when I get a chance that the birthday girl will like it, as well.
Thanks for reviewing!
Whoa! Great chapter! Can't wait to read what happens next. Update soon ;)
Well, I'd be murdered by Elene if I didn't update soon, so there will be newness in this story soon. I'm glad you enjoy it. :D
Even the jubilance of a Quidditch Cup could become taxing on Percy's nerves, but it seemed almost cruel when he couldn't even take a shower in peace, despite it being well after midnight.
Driven out of his own dorm and to the prefects' bathroom that he scarcely ever visits, Percy finds that the room hadn't yet been vacated by its prior occupant.
You always amaze me with your randomness ;)
I would have never thought of Percy and Oliver ever being interested in each other or Percy ever being gay, but when I thought about his character over again I could really see it. You made it very believable. Nice job :)
I hold the Crown O' Randomness, just so you know, hehe.
I wouldn't say that Percy is gay. I think he felt something when he saw Oliver naked and wasn't quite sure what it was. I'd call it more curiosity than anything. And the fact that they were alone and there was a good chance he'd never see Oliver again if it didn't work out, it gave him no excuse not to let Oliver have his way with him. I think it shocked even him that he enjoyed it.
Thanks for reading/reviewing. It's always lovely to hear from you. :D
Summary: In the midst of battle, and after that kiss, Ron knew he loved Hermione. He'd never said the words, but she knew.
This story was inspired by a song called Forces of Nature by the Backstreet Boys. This pairing and that group are the favourites of Amanda (ahattab) who is celebrating her birthday today.
Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling and have never even seen a backstreet boy.
Thank you, Natalie, (hestiajones) for the quick beta job.
Loved it! I wasn't really expecting the story to end the way it did, but what's a fic without some randomness? Nice job :)
Author's Response: Not sure what you mean by randomness as I thought the story was gearing up towards that particular end, but I'm glad you enjoyed the story and left a review. Thank you ~Carole~
Well I guess I was just feeling the someone just died and everything is very sad kind of mood while reading, but I guess I could kind of see how you lead up to it in the end ;)
Author's Response: Ah, okay. Yeah, I see that. I just thought that the life/death conundrum gave it more poignancy. ~Carole~
Summary: Though the trials of war are behind them, life will always include difficulties that must be faced.I am thrilled beyond reason to announce that this fic won the 2011 Quicksilver Quill in the category Best Canon Romance, one-shot. Thank you so much! :)
This is adorable! I don't know if I've told you before, but your Ron and Hermione are perfect. They're exactly what I had always imagined them to be after they were married. Great job! :)
Author's Response: Comments like that make me grin from ear to ear. :D Thanks so much--I appreciate it!
Summary: Dominique Weasley’s life is a mess. At seventeen years of age, she’s in her final year at Hogwarts, and things couldn’t be going any worse. She’s failing most of her NEWT classes, her perfect mother is driving her crazy, she’s practically a magnet for trouble and she hates Felix Thomas with a burning passion.
And now she’s pregnant.
I really love where you're going with this:) Your Dom is that kick-ass chick almost any girl wants to be and is super fun to read. I can't wait to read more! Update soon!;)
Author's Response: Thanks for your review! I'm so glad that that's the impression you get of Dom, because that's exactly who I meant her to be. Nice to know I'm heading in the right direction! And yes, I'll update soon!
Love it!! This story is great so far and I can't wait to read more ;)
Author's Response: Aww, thankyou for your nice comments! I'll try and get the next chapter up ASAP!
A war is raging across the country. Colin Creevey is ready to fight, while his brother Dennis is in hiding with other Muggleborn refugees in the London Underground. Both are ready to play their part in a war that will forever change the history of the Wizarding world.
One will not survive. The other will have his life forever changed by the tragedy that befalls his brother.
But this is not a story about death or loss. This is a tale about brotherhood.
Much, much thanks to the absolutely amazing Elené for beta-ing this. Without her, this story would not be. Disclaimer: I don't own any of JKR's stuff.
I loved this! I wasn't really into reading anything about Dennis or Colin but I told myself why not and did, and honestly it's one of the best fics I've ever read on the site. Great job and update soon! ;)
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing! The next (and final) chapter is submitted to the archives and will hopefully be accepted soon. Thanks again. xx Ariana
Summary: Love is a very bizarre form of emotion. People can die for it. People can kill for it…
Rose Weasley is in her fifth year at Hogwarts. Love is in the air, but so is exam fever; and Hogwarts is heavy with a weird combination of nervous cheesiness. But isn’t this the story every year? It’s normal. It’s right.
And then everything goes wrong.
A student— Rose’s classmate dies tragically and unexpectedly one day. The death sends shock waves through Rose and her friends, staggering them to a great extent. Furthermore, investigations conducted by Rose’s Uncle Harry reveal a startling piece of information, placing everybody in even more shock. The death is, in fact homicide— and homicide committed by a student. Soon enough, Relationships are strained, faiths are broken and hatred is intensified. That is when Rose realises that she is not prepared to face any of it; and all she craves is for things to be the way they were before the tragedy…
This is a story about how love can make people cross the limits they never knew... a story of how love combined with obsession, deceit and jealousy can be as destructive of hatred.
This is Ginny Weasley Potter of Hufflepuff writing for the 2011 Mysterious May Challenge in the Great Hall, Prompt #2— The Trained Professional. I have moved this story into the next-gen category, because I feel it fits in better there.
That's so sad! I was really hoping Abby wasn't the student who dies that's mentioned in the summary. Can't wait to see how Ian reacts to her death or how the whole school reacts actually. Update soon! :)
Author's Response: Abby's death... hmmm... I was sad to kill her off too but I had actually created her for killing her off. O.o Does that sound weird? And Ian? You'll be shocked. I finished writing most of the third chapter... should be up soon. *crosses fingers*.
Loved it so far! I think this is going to be an awesome fic. I love all the characters that we've gotten to meet too and I totally think Abby's preggers. Can't wait for the next chapter ;)
Author's Response: So you think Abby's pregnant? :D Well, we'll see, won't we? ;) Thank you for your review! It totally made my day. :)
