I like it very much =) Do you have a story in addition to this one? I mean, this song-fic seems like a part of a bigger story, and it is beautiful.

Author's Response: Thank you! This is not a part of a bigger story, though I see how it would fit in nicely with one. :)

oooo... this story is really good and convincing. i love it! although i'm supporting RL/NT, i do rather pity charlie. poor guy =( he's been waiting and trying for so long.... and he'll never succeed. sighs.

the only nitpick i have is in an early chapter - where Tonks tried to slip Veritaserum into Remus' drink. i somehow think it is uncharacteristic of Remus to curse using Salazar's name.

still, i love your story, and this will go into my bookmarked pages! =D

Author's Response: Mmm, I see what you mean about Remus saying 'Salazar'. My feeling was that they used to say Salazar as the worst cuss, cause they hated the Slyths so much, but I get your point. If I was writing now, I probably wouldn't have him saying that. ~Carole~

A Certain Slant of Light by Hatusu

Rated: Professors • Past Featured Story

At age fifteen, Regulus Black became sole heir to the largest fortune in Wizarding London. At sixteen, his abnormal intelligence won him entry into the most notorious cult of Dark wizards on earth. At seventeen he made a mistake – one that he would never be able to take back – and his entire world came crashing down.

Enter London, 1979. The story of a boy who managed to defy Voldemort at the height of his regime. But what price did he have to pay?

you have juxtaposed magic and physics in a way i never thought was possible. i think your portrayal of regulus and the other death eaters to be rather beautiful, in a way that i can appreciate them to be humans despite deranged (i'm unfortunately biased). i adore how you describe the Black family: they might be prejudiced as hell, but in the end they are a family. the way you portray Sirius's leaving, and the effects it had on the rest of the family, particularly Regulus, was realistic and downright fantastic.

your portrayal of Regulus is tragic and beautiful. i love your explanation on how he discovered, and decided to destroy the Horcruxes. it's so sad how Sirius burned Regulus' letter, but I guess it's necessary =(

I sincerely hope Voldemort did not hunt down Adele after killing Regulus. I love Adele by the way. Fragile exterior, but with a strong, kind personality. Fantastic!

maybe because i've been reading this chapter by chapter and organic chem has been invading my mind in the meantime (or maybe i'm just too lazy to go reread this story now after the epilogue), but my fav would come from this chapter.

"how do you live with that, peter?"

honestly, i wonder too. how did peter live through all the betrayal.

and i really enjoy the part where lily proposed to james too, and he pulled the ring out and started reading from a parchment *laughs* before lily cuts him short. that was sheer genius.

i'll find time to come back and reread this someday. really love your story =)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Organic chem, huh? That's the devil, isn't it? I'm glad you liked this and enjoyed the final chapter and how Lily proposed! I've been picturing that in my mind for a while, so I'm happy it worked out and was enjoyed! :)

Grave Days by Northumbrian

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Front page: THE DAILY PROPHET 4 May 1998

Editors Note: At the request of the Ministry for Magic this Official Statement issued by the Office of the Minister is produced full and unedited.

This official statement has been compiled with the assistance and co-operation of Mr Harry Potter.

“Lord Voldemort” was, in fact a man named Tom M. Riddle, son of a witch, Merope Gaunt and a Muggle, Tom Riddle Senior. The Ministry has decided that in all future official publications Riddle will be referred to by his given name.

There has already been much speculation and wild rumour regarding the events at Hogwarts School. The Ministry can confirm that Tom M. Riddle was killed at dawn on the morning of Saturday, 2 May. Riddle was disarmed by Harry Potter while in the act of firing a killing curse at Mr Potter. The curse killed Riddle rather than its intended target.

Continued on page 4

Despite the Official Ministry Statement (published above) we are no closer to receiving an answer to the question on the lips of every witch and wizard in the country. Where is Harry Potter?

It appears that Mr Potter left Hogwarts School early yesterday morning, apparently in the company of his close associates Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley. An attractive young Ministry clerk, who did not wish to be named, told The Prophet “He’s at the Ministry, having an important meeting with the Minister. My friends and I saw him. He asked us out to the pub, but we had to turn him down.” This statement is at odds with a report from the Portkey Office that Mr Potter has fled the country, travelling to Australia with his companions.

i was skimming the review and saw that you made a spreadsheet of post-DH events. impressive! i've been rather amazed at how all your stories fit together and complement each other so perfectly - and now i have the answer =D this is an awesome story. i'm glad you didn't let george sink into boozy depression, and i find hermione's parents wrath to be highly appropriate. the characters' tendency for PDA amuses me a lot, by the way. you write brilliantly =)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review.
My spreadsheet continues to expand as I add births deaths marriages and other significant relationships to more minor characters. That way I know who Lavender is with. I try to tell the relationship stories in the background, behind the main plot. Sometimes they bring themselves to the fore.
George has his boozy moments (though you havent seen them yet).

A Stone From the Riverbank by Sapphire at Dawn

The Resilient by Misdemeanor1331

Rated: Professors • Past Featured Story
Summary: Sequel to "An Aversion to Change."

It's Voldemort's world now: a world of corruption, betrayal, greed, and violence. A world of evil thoughts and evil deeds, where no one can be trusted, especially those closest to you.

But through it all, there must be strength. There must exist those who will stand up to totalitarian rule, who will say no when others submit, who must survive despite their condition. There must exist the resilient.

Eventual Draco/Hermione with plenty of plot. Very dark, so read at your own risk!

this is really poignant, and i can totally understand the whirlwind of emotions draco and hermione are in. i can totally understand hermione's need to go away and reevaluate her life (i've needed to walked away to think rationally after much much more trivial fights with my bf), but i hope that she's just being melodramatic about that goodbye being forever. that would break my heart if it's true! after all the pain and hurt they've been true, i hope that as wounds heal their love could find a way to reunite them. pleeeaaaassssseeeeee!!! i need a happy ending for this! even if they don't get back together, they need to come to terms with the past and have happy lives. please? pretty please with maple syrup?

Author's Response: Well, pretty please with maple syrup is darn convincing. I'll see what I can do, but I won't make any promises. ;) I'm glad you liked the chapter. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!!!

chemistry ftw! (or at least, this is my spurious correlation from the sneak peek into draco's secret laboratory)

awesome chapter as always. can't wait to read more! still, it puzzles me why voldemort chooses to spend so much time and effort making hermione pretty just to get her blood. will you explain it soon? =) or does he just have a fetish for pretty, dark rituals?

Author's Response: Heck yeah it's chemistry! Glad I'm not its only fan! And Voldemort just likes the pageantry of it all - the lighting, the opulence, the meal, etc. He's kind of a snob. I think he would appreciate the irony, too, of dressing a piece of "filth" like Hermione in such nice clothes. Hehe. Thanks for the review!!

Bound in the Beating of Each Other's Heart by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: She had taken to walking here most nights since he’d gone. The utter loneliness of her life led her to flee her mausoleum of a marriage bed for the solitude of these shores, and Narcissa would stride up and down the coast trying to block out the memories that threatened to break her.

The title for this oneshot is a quote from Charlotte Gray.

Thank you very much to Ari (Royari) for her help in beta'ing this oneshot in super speedy time.

this is a very nice story. it brings out the human parts of narcissa and lucius nicely, and the angst is just enough - not too much, not too little. i can feel narcissa's pain, and her wish to be released from it. it was awesome.

and the depiction of lucius in the end is definitely not one that i commonly read. he's always portrayed as cold, heartless etc etc but i'm sure he loves his family. the way you have him watch over narcissa as she spends her alone time in the beach is very endearing.

i love it =)

Author's Response: There is a small part of DH where Narcissa squeezes Lucius' hand and then he hands Voldemort his wand. I think there's a very definitelove between the pair, and they have that for their son as well. I dislike Lucius, but I do think he loved his family. Thank you for the review; I'm glad you enjoyed the story. ~Carole~

Summary: As she gets ready for the Yule Ball at Hogwarts, Fleur Delacour studies herself in the mirror.

She looks perfect.

She always does.

But there's a vague dissatisfaction beginning to grow inside Fleur, a nagging feeling that being perfect will not make her happy.

**indicates a line taken directly from Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, chapter 23, The Yule Ball.

Reviewer: littlewolf Signed
Date: 06/21/10 Title: Chapter 1: The WODAMND Act

for the past week, my obsession had been to devour your alexandra quick series. and now i've run out of awesome stories to read =(

forgive me for not reviewing until the end, all i wanted to do the second i reach the end of each chapter was to hit the "next" button.

i think i might like this book the best out of the three you've written so far. it's quite bittersweet, and that's how life goes (albeit with much less interesting and safer things in real life for most of us). seeing that alexandra had never truly felt a severe loss, it was totally understandable how she felt guilty and obsessed with bringing Max back to life. in the end, when she finally admitted that she couldn't, but promised never to forget Max... i guess she finally found closure. it was sweet in a sad kind of way.

i read some reviews about questions you left hanging... i think it was for the best that you left the question as to whether Death would give Max back if Alex did give the coin to another. if Alex did choose to sacrifice someone to get Max back... well i think Max will be back the way he haunted her dreams - full of sadness knowing that his sister killed to get him back. and it wouldn't be the Alex we know and love. Troublesome's vexing and a pain and a trial, but she's also kind and has a pure heart, no? (p/s - i really love your poems/rhymes!) this is meant to be an open ended question i think. like how sirius died when he fell behind the veil.

i think max went in peace, though, willingly to save his sister. tell me he found peace, please?

i guess i can actually sympathize with darla. i really didn't like her character... but she really loved her younger sister, no? she was willing to kill, and as a last resort, die for her sister's life. while that doesn't truly justify the bad things she had done, i'm consoled that she isn't truly bad. she's just extremely desperate.

i dislike the confederation more than ever now. human child sacrifice? nothing can justify that act of abomination. while i don't like abraham thorn's method of fighting back (plenty of people who died are innocent) i agree that this should stop.

something tells me that if they can't stop this in seven years, alex is going to do something. she only has seven years to live... hmmmm.

the only little thing bothering me about this whole story is Quimley. what did he do? why wouldn't he return to the upper world? what motivated his most terrible gift?

i sure hope you address that in the future books, if you can =) and can you please do an epilogue after the seventh book so we know if alex survived Death or not?

thanks! as always, i think you're an awesome writer.

keep writing =)

Flying, Fair Play and the Need for a Firm Hand by Equinox Chick
